I noticed quite a few people are looking forward to try and make Pogo-Hopper work as soon as the buffs go live, so I created this thread to discuss our ideas for this deck. Here's my take on it:
What do you think? More draw, more taunt, more heal?

I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Barista, 2 scheme, 2 recruiter seems like overkill.
I know magic carpet sounds nice but will it matter actually? Only 1 drop you have is Pogo and there's no way adding another 1 drop without ruining Piper. Also you probably don't make big enough pogos to fight the aggro early on. If you want it as a late game tool it's gonna be a dead card in your hand until you have a chance to make medium-big pogos and it doesn't help with your game plan. Card draw seems more relavant. So I'd cut both of it for more draw. Novice engineer would work well also with the shark. Other than that I like the deck :)
I agree with the replacement. Novice Engineer has also synergy with Shadowstep, it's what I use in my version.
The pleasure is mine.
My last standard decks: nothing special right now.
Lackeys are 1 drops.
Agreed, probably it won't matter.
Bronze Gatekeeper and/or Sunfury Protector will suit that slot better, whilst being more flexible and the latter even has synergy with the bouncing mechanics which this type of deck should have loads of.
To improve the aggro matchup further, I would even consider cutting Tak Nozwhisker and a scheme for more cycle to carry this deck with
Thanks for your feedback, really cool ideas! I guess I will try two versions: the original with the carpets and an alternative one with the suggested Novice Engineer and Bronze Gatekeeper.
Just one more try to defend the carpets:
I have tried pogo decks in their current state for some time now. While I usually have not much problems to get the cycle going, I feel like the deck lacks tempo. It's cool to be able to put out a stream of growing bunnies, but they have no immediate impact on the board and thus I often loose to opponents who largely ignore me. The idea behind magic carpet was to solve that problem by simultanously developping a board myself and clearing or at least decimating the opponents side. As RandomGuy already pointed out, lackeys can help with that task, too. Natakashiis taunt minions take the same direction but in a more passive way. It remains to be seen which version works out better.
On a second thought, what do you think about adding Galvanizer? 0 cost bunnies and a discounted Bronze Gatekeeper or Zilliax could be really great. (Dumb question: does Magic Carpet trigger on discounted 1-drops?)

You probably want more Mechs to add Galvanizer.
The pleasure is mine.

Galvanizer might be tempting, but you'd have to run them in a slower version without carpets then. sea giants that cost exactly 1 get rush from carpet as well, even though they originally cost 10 Mana.
It would be amazing to see about 6 pogo hoppers being played over and over again in one turn though, with the help of Daring Escape, to cheat every bunny in your hand out twice for 5 mana (Galvanizer (2) > Pogo Hoppers (0) > Daring Escape (1) > Galvanizer (2) > Pogo Hoppers (0) and repeat for second daring escape. You would have to get the nuts though and survive until that point.
I am excited to see which one (if any) of the versions will see play in the higher ranks.
My thoughts:
I know it sounds like I'm just suggesting Tempo Rogue cards here. Sadly, I think that's the main way that we improve our potential winrate with this deck. This deck's main problem is securing the early game. Tempo Rogue cards are decent at doing just that. Our hoppers are worthless if we're dead by the time they can grow big enough to matter.
I personally used Jepetto Joybuzz with success so far, it helps pulling wabbits (and pre-buff, it gives them a 1-mana discount).
It can also help get a discount on Spirit of the Shark, too.
I found Daring Escape better value than Vanish, especially since the Prep nerf, although I may keep a single Vanish.
Also, why no Pandas? Especially the smaller ones are great value and cannot be drawn by Pipers any more post-buff .
Finally, one Augmented Elekk won't hurt either, considering it's got a good body.
Thanks again for your great ideas! I likeEVIL Cable Rat, that would be good for our early game. Serrated Tooth hasn't convinced me yet, but I might give that a try, too.
Pandas are too clunky in my opinion, I rely on [Hearthstone Card (shadow step) Not Found] and shuffle so many bunnies that I inevitably have to draw them. Arsene is right, it's quite an overkill but then I don't want to rot those legendary cards to dust (haha) in my collection. Augmented Elekk would even further push that feeling of overdoing it and I made the experience with bomb warrior that it oftentimes doesn't survive if you play it on curve.
Finally, where are your lists? I really appreciate your feedback, but I'm a complete rogue noob and I would love to see your takes on the archetype!
