The New Best Decks In Runterra Post Patch 1.2

Submitted 4 years, 6 months ago by

So the pros have weighed in, let's see what predictions I got wrong.

Tier 1 - Deep, Sejuani, Heimer

So deep was obviously a contender for best deck when things slowed down after the patch, we see a Frej list tier 1 as predicted, and 1 thing I got wrong.

If you'd ask me if Heimer was tier 1 I would have laughed, and been like tier 3 at best

So we'll put the score at 2/3 pretty good, but not perfect calls.

Frej also shows up in tiers 2 and 3 frequently

Dem bannerman has seen a huge drop in play rate, but there is a new version that runs Fiora with spells to help provide an alternate win con.

It's also dropped badger bear, no duh.

The deck is still good it's just different, and harder to play overall.

Karma lists are down to tier 2 that's the other big change, along with burn.

It's worth noting that things are so balanced right now that there is only a 5 percent win rate difference between the best lists and the worst.

So you should honestly just play what you want, if you want to be hardcore play frej if you don't then play whatever you want.

Seriously, stop putting the spaces in between your sentences. Just put a period and continue on the same line.

    I second this.

If you're not commenting on the content you're not contributing anything.

Any thoughts on the new meta...probably not.

Mate, I don't even play Runeterra but I do check the forums regularly. Your stubborn insistence on maintaining the same spacing despite numerous comments is childish. Furthermore, your refusal to recognise and engage with criticism that references your arrogant, know-it-all tone is narcissistic. Stop speaking in an authoritative tone and start using a thoughtful, inquisitive one. Rather than stating that something is obvious, say that it has happened a lot to you whilst playing. Not everyone has the same games or experiences. Rather than listing your (in-)correct predictions to show off and ego-rub, engage with others here and discuss how the meta has changed. By listing as you have you invite challenges and criticism rather than disagreement and discussion. Rather than dismissing KANSAS and Shivershine and trying to redirect the discussion, apologise and change - it's fine, no one will hurt you if you do. If anything, people will be more willing to engage with what you write if you recognise, apologise, and, most importantly, CHANGE.

Apologies to everyone for the rant, I needed this off my chest because this poster has hit a couple of nerves over the last few days. And Nifty129, even if you continue to post as you do about Runeterra, please, for the love of all that is good, stop taking up 50% of a page to do so.

Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.

He does care about people say about them. OoC has been here for a year! Flux made this site to get away from trolls and salt. You are just the kind of guy we tried to get away from.

I wholly agree Shivershine. This community is wonderful; Nifty, the fact that I care enough about the people here to comment in a Runeterra forum should tell you just how much I value keeping this place fun, peppery, and free from trolls.

Back to my original post, you've absolutely proven me correct. You point out that I'm mad about line spacing, which I do indeed reference in the first and last lines of my post, and is annoying. However, the bulk of what I wrote was about you and your character. Your latest posts indicate a pattern of stand-offishness, being argumentative, not wanting to engage with criticism, dismissing those who disagree with you, and elevating your own self to a position of authority, a position you do not have. I don't need your pity. I don't need your hugs. I need you to understand why we engage with your post-spacing and your tone rather than your ideas.

I will continue to pop my head in on your threads. Hopefully, it'll be to watch your progress in engaging with the community and consist of me posting about how I now play Runeterra and find your insight valuable and interesting. For now though, I hope these two posts have been food for thought.

I agree with Dermostatic that taking a more Inquisitive tone is better. For me, I usually end every post with something like “what do you all think?” to make it clear that I want feedback and am okay with criticism. As individual humans, we can’t always think of everything, so by opening ourselves up to criticism we can realize things that we wouldn’t have just by ourselves. There have been many times that I’ve thought something was a good idea, but after seeing other people’s opinions on it I’ve realized the flaws in it and been able to change it in order to make it better. Even when I disagree and think I’m right, in forming my arguments I am usually able to understand better why I think it would be a good idea, making even “bad” criticism helpful.
Also, everything is a whole lot more fun when you’re willing to collaborate with people and improve your ideas instead of immediately making everyone think you’re arrogant. Would you rather be alone and “right”, or in a community and learning?

I wasn't expecting Heimer to be tier 1 either, but seems like it is. Sejuani and deep are no surprise.
