Interesting card. Obvious use is with a big boardwipe, but maybe could be interesting with the new innervate to enable something, especially in wild.
EDIT: less good than it looks. If it is killed by the spell, you don't get the spell burst, so this might not be so good with board wipes.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Seems really good. This will DEFINATLY see play in control/highlander decks, as they love ways to get more removal. Seems also pretty good in combination with Haunting Visions. This combo is basicly "5 mana 2/3: Discover 2 cards, your next spell this turn costs 3 less". This seems really strong. Also considering this is a spell-based expansion, we will most likely see a lot more combos pop up, during the reveal season. This card will see a lot of play, i'm sure of it.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
2/3 "draw" a spell once you cans a spell.. seems good, 2/3 which grant card advantage are really good,
works wonders with serpent portal.
Better Marshspawn most of the time. Will see play for sure in both standard and wild.
Now that's a spicy little effect. Seems good for midrange and control Shaman decks.
Oh, the cycle fun you can have with this card. Just wait until more crazy spells come out, and you'll be able to inflict a lot of damage or heal a lot of health. Basically a minion that can turn any spell into a Twinspell.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
So would hagatha's scheme retain the damage boost? Because if so that seems great I feel like we need to see more cards from the expac before this and many other spell burst cards, but using previous cards this seems pretty good since you can infinity use something like spirit echo or whatever.
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
A nice attempt for the continued push of spell shaman. Maybe eventually it will get there.
Extra star for the artwork.

EU Legend: S52 (ZooHeal Lock); S76 (Highlander Hunter);
Might see play in Totem Shaman alongside Totemic Might and Totemic Surge.
Arena > Wild > Standard
I mean..why not? PLay this on two, play Serpentshrine on 3 andhave another one for turn 4. Sounds like a neat curve in any deck
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Copy any spell you want. Any spell.
Seems like a strong introduction to the Spellburst mechanic. I like it.
This card has some very interesting uses. You can use it with a board clear for extra value, or as a way to get extra burst damage with something like Crackle. I can't exactly say how good I think this card will be, but I am very excited to try it out.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Useful in cheap Totem decks. Also good if you want control. Archmage Vargoth is going to have a field day with this combo. You get your spell done twice and get it back.
Very strong card that will be in every shaman deck.
If Im not mistaken spellburst will cause the next spell you play after this to be returned to your hand. If this keep spell discounts this is straight up busted.
Doubling spells should never be underestimated. Outside of that its still a vanilla 2 drop that must be killed if the spellburst is not activated on the same turn.
Unstable Evolution just seems like it will be super funny with this card.
Huge, return a spell you play for 2 mana is a lot, it's like a brewmaster for spells.
Spell Shaman just got another tool. I think we may finally start to see the next Shaman archetype in a Dragon Burn Shaman with Squallhunter and Malygos. Especially with Lightning Bloom available to Shaman decks.
A very interesting tool for Spell Shaman. Hopefully it helps, because poor Thrall needs it bad.
This has pretty high potential. Especially for Spell shaman of course, bot for other archetypes as well. I will certainly try it out!
infinite MUTATE / EVOLVE !
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Yay for more tauren representation! A fluffy studiuos one, that will be included in any burst deck, my vote for cute card.
If you can make this stick, double Bloodlust would be possible. A second roll of The Storm Bringer doesn't sound bad either.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

This card is very exciting. Vanilla stats mean it's playable in just about any deck, and the Spellburst ability could make for some crazy combos.
The River crocolisk for spell shamans.
it's incredible value, but is this a minion you hold onto for late game or play on curve?
Damn. This is very strong. I'll fit it in all my control decks as the value is really great.
Elders Scrolls : Legends / Runeterra
Look! Shaman got a new counter to King Togwaggle! Much better at that than Krag'wa, the Frog.
All Wild stuff aside, this can give you a copy of a spell. Seems solid for Control Shaman, and becomes a budget, but more common Electra Stormsurge for spells that cost (4) or less. Grabbing something like another Witch's Brew or Earthquake is great value. My only concern is that this is in Shaman, and they are not doing so hot after the aftermath of Galakrond nerfs. Maybe Dekkster's Burn Shaman can help out the class, aswell as Control Shaman. Both archetypes can use this card.
4/5

Sethekk Veilweaver is a very powerful card with a similiar effect. Sure, Diligent Notetaker won't go infinite, but you have full control over what you get, making it more consistent.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Very strong in a slower control-shaman deck, which are usually very fun decks to play.
Because spellburst triggers after casting, spells that generate copies of spellburst minions will generate undepleted copies.
A combo idea:
Diligent notetaker + Greater Sapphire spell stone + lightning bloom gives you a GSS and 3 lightning blooms in hand.
next turn malygos + 3 lightning blooms + burn spells?

Thank God this is Shaman... when I first saw it I thought it was a lighter blue putting it in Mage... just imagine the time - and it WILL happen - that a mage player somehow gets one of these and a couple of Apprentices...or a Druid for that matter...
Potentially insane, probably more for teh memage than actually good, someone - probably Kibler - will do something utterly degenerate with it.
Very good card! Here's the meme I'm waiting for: Rogue burgles this card, then plays this plus Shadowstep for literally INFINITE returns, then the biggest Edwin EVER.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
This Diligent Notetaker is notably note worthy ..!
... I'll show myself out
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Spellburst is an 'after you cast a spell' effect. If the minion isn't in play when the spell's effect ends, z.B. shadowstep, I think that it won't trigger.
If you had two notetakers, however...
This post is discussing the wild format.
this dude is pretty good.
if aggro shaman is a thing it's a bootleg electra or just a river croc with an upside on 2.
shaman has a lot of good spells you might be interested in copying with this.
Shaman is my favourite class to play, and I often find that I just want to keep casting underpriced, powerful spells! This card certainly helps, and gives a 2/3 body to boot.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
Coin + This + Lightning Bloom+ Lightning Bloom copy = extra 4 mana drop on Turn 1. If you have the 2nd Lightning Bloom in your hand, it's a 6 mana drop.
. . . and then you have 1 card left in hand.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
How will you get 6x Lightning Bolts? This minion will return only one of the first two
-=alfi=-
It will return only ONE spell.
-=alfi=-
Trying to think up the biggest burst without random shenanigans.
Came up with this 9 card combo (lol) for 26 damage:
This can be higher if you factor in Vashj Prime or Far Sight discounts.
Realistically though, the damage this generates will be spread across different turns rather than as an OTK.
Not entirely convinced that this card will enable an OTK, maybe not one where you deal 30 dmg in a turn, but an exodia one? What would Shaman need to make a Mechathun work for example? Hmm.

By playing this game in the Shadow Realm, duh! But real talk, my brain hasn't been as sharp as I needed it to be, so I didn't wrap my head around the spellburst keyword properly.
Strong card. The stat are good and the effect can be abused in some way for sure...
I'm curious to find out wich will be the best combo with this card
I have no doubt this will see play, getting specific value is just that strong
Looks pretty nice, since there’s a lot of good spells you could get an extra copy of with this
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
This is going to be useful
Pretty fun control tool, I'd be surprised if this weren't to see play if a control shaman were to pop up. It also has some really funny combo potential and I'm hyped to get my hands on it to do stupid meme stuff with it.
Cardboard wizard and dog haver.
Good, but not THAT good
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
I feel like this almost a auto-include in any shaman list tbh.
Nice cost and basically duplicates a spell for ya
All hail the banshee queen.
It duplicates a spell for you, that's a good thing. But what deck is Shaman going to play that wants that value?
Very strong card. Its mana cost allows it to be very versatile.
Buffing aggro minions twice with cheap spells? No Problem.
Pushing additional burn damage to face? No Problem.
Multiple board wipes? No Problem.
I expect this to be a staple in Shaman for the foreseeable future.
You can make good use of this. Nice card.
This will see play in control decks for sure. I reckon even highlanders will include a copy for extra reach.
Maybe an all-out burn aggro, doubling Lightning Bolt or Lava Burst and fishing the rest with Instructor Fireheart. I would try at least if I open the legendary (won't craft it, thanks, but no thanks).
Might see some value in the new spell damage orientated deck. It's not terrible coz most of the time, the spell will be more valuable than anything randomly generated or discovered.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Shaman has been getting a LOT of "return this to hand" effects. Almost as much as Rogue (if not more)
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
Great card. Just fantastic! Getting extra copies of specific spells could make for potential combos or more burst damage to close out a game.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
As a rare this card will surely see play, and maybe Shaman needs this tool.
Good stats for be played on curve, and you get the same spell you just casted.
It have much value. Very strong card
This can be utilized well by Burn Shaman for more burn and Galakrond Shaman for more copies of Invocation of Frost or Dragon's Pack. I don't see this in Totem Shaman as they'd rather run more early game aggression or totem synergies. Overall, a good card for less board-centric Shaman decks.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Obvious combo potential. Specially in wild.
By The Holy Light!
A simple effect, but it can be quite powerful depending on what spells Shaman will be running.
One of the first examples of Spellburst! I like this card, I think it's very solid. Nothing to write home about, but worth considering in any spell-heavy deck.
