  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Lady S'theno

Could be very powerful with DH's access to cheap spells, though DH doesn't really have a Sorcerer's Apprentice to go with this Flamewaker, and there's not a whole lot of minion buffs available to DH .

  • HS refugee, LoR is fine but where is the fun?

You can totally mess around with Deep if you want, as long as you are OK with losing some games.

As for getting a couple copies of Maokai, as long as you get your weekly vault to level 10, you will have two champion wildcards in two weeks, and that will finish off your 3 copies.

By the way, in that mill deck, the Ferros Financier can fetch you some needed tools, such as Trueshot Barrage, The Ruination, more copies of Vengeance, or even Atrocity if you have a big Viego on the board.

  • New Neutral Minion - Smothering Starfish

There's a chance that team5 have made an mistake trying to cover for both the colossal minions and the evidently powerful Snowfall Guardian. Because if shaman is everywhere next meta, this is practically a must have card which also unfortunately counters many things that under normal circumstances no one will be prepared for.

Deathrattle decks for example gets shafted pretty hard just because snowfall guardian's shit. Should've just given us [Hearthstone Card (living dragonflame) Not Found] instead. Its not like standard doesn't already have a good silence, tradeable minion around.

Nevertheless, silence effects are like weapon destruction. It'll always see play one way or another. So I'd expect this one will certainly do as well.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Glaiveshark

Why isn't this ODDDDDD??????? Wild needs it so badly

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Abyssal Depths

DH has a plethora of good draw options, so it's really telling when they make this one over-costed for it's effect. Likely to make Vanndar tutoring not as strong, but there's not much Big DH cards left around after rotation... Unless Core Set...?

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Multi-Strike

Really strong attack boost, even if only one swing can be pointed at face.

1 star. The other 4 are just my joy of having a neutral viable silence.

I'm definitely glad that this card exists, specifically as a tech card that can answer Snowfall Guardian board freezes, Handbuff decks, or anything else that might be annoying. Also Silence Priest is a thing. That being said, I REALLY hope that this doesn't become a ubiquitous minion; I like it as a tech card, but the ability to Silence everything is just really annoying to have to play against too often. I would really like to play with the new Colossal minions and it's not going to be very fun to drop, say, Nellie, the Great Thresher only to have my opponent completely negate her effect for 3 mana. So, in conclusion: Really powerful card, good as a tech card for a lot of different decks, really hope that it's not going to just go in every deck.

As much as silence is disliked (myself included), it's still necessary to have some mechanics to swing the game in favor of a player that's behind, especially with huge Colossal minions and other minions with very strong effects in this expansion.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Glaiveshark

Assuming DH still has some good weapon options on 3, this is an excellent card to have.

  • Scale of Onyxia does way too much.

On the contrary I feel like this is why class identity is overrated. If Druid wasn't able to deal with wide boards in shape or form while also not being allowed to have viable single-target removal then the entire ramp playstyle would just be doomed. Scale of Onyxia is quite literally a worse flamestrike and is only even enabled because Druid has ramp. The problem is that the amount of effective ramp has reached absurd levels right now and therefore cards that would be balanced in another scenario are now suddenly really nuts.

Overgrowth and Lightning Bloom are the problem here, not the fact that Druid is allowed to fight back from behind.

Ramping takes advantage of the fact bigger/more expensive cards do more in fewer turns than smaller/cheaper ones. So ramp functions fine without strong removal when against anything that doesn't kill you fast enough to undercut that advantage. That's been the central aspect of druid's design ever since Overgrowth came out, and typically present beforehand too. Overgrowth has been very highroll-y the entire time, but it dodged nerfs because it didn't lead into a comeback card like Scale of Onyxia, and thus it actually retained the weakness it was designed with. Guardian Animals got nerfed largely because it provided the good removal that Scale of Onyxia is now doing.

We can point fingers at the ramp cards, but they are what makes druid different from other classes, and we aren't seriously going to argue druid shouldn't have strong cards for its own mechanic. So unless we want to argue classes should be made homogeneous, we have to recognise class identity is important, and strengths and weaknesses need to fit with mechanics in a way that directly supports them so there is a reason to use them, while also indirectly hindering them so they don't become uncounterable.

Ultimately that's the biggest point: all decks/classes need to have some weak point(s) that opponent's can try to exploit, or it just becomes a matter of hoping they draw badly, which is not a fun experience for anyone.

    ----------------------------------------

Also, Scale of Onyxia is not a worse Flamestrike. It can be against some boards, but it can also be way better, either because there's a 6+ health minion to deal with or because some whelps survive anyway.

Well, we didn't get Living Dragonbreath but we got next big counter to all that nasty Snowfall Guardians.

But its like all tech cards, all depends on meta. But it does mean that nearly all deathrattle decks get a massive middle finger to the face.

  • Smothering Starfish is a New Card Revealed by Wowhobbs for Voyage to the Sunken City

With every reveal my hype and expectations for the expansion goes down more and more. First support cards for questline hunter, then Pirate Admiral Hooktusk and now neutral mass silence for only 3 mana

  • Smothering Starfish is a New Card Revealed by Wowhobbs for Voyage to the Sunken City

So much for your Colossals, haha. It least you still get the wide board I guess, but whatever fun you expected to get from their effects can be cheaply nullfied. Interesting choice.

  • New Neutral Minion - Smothering Starfish

Silence priest is getting stuff, now we need something to silence.

By the way, if handbuff is a thing, that card can see play in control decks... And aggro boys can deal with taunts.

In the right meta, that card is a 5/5 stars.

Love me some art where whatever is occupying most of the frame isn't what the art actually represents. Reminds me of Familia Sprite from Mythgard in that regard.

Figured it's a Silence card when all the minions in the video started talking over Hobbs. Not super excited for the effect because I don't usually like Silence since it's an anti-fun mechanic.

  • Gaia, the Techtonic

Normally, they do include tokens on Card pages. This is a newer card plus it's currently reveal season, so they haven't had time to add tokens to relevant card pages I'd imagine.

  • Smothering Starfish is a New Card Revealed by Wowhobbs for Voyage to the Sunken City

Welll...there's your tech card against Snowfall Guardian. Would have preferred Living Dragonbreath, but I guess this works too. Pretty crazy powercreep over Showstopper though.

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2022 Season 1 - Playoffs Results, Decklists, and More! (Spoiler Free)

Do we know how many Masters Tours there will be this year? They've already done two with a third announced for the end of April. Considering that we usually get 6 Masters Tours in a year, and that we have shortened Gandmasters seasons in 2022, that drastically reduces the amount of competitive constructed play we can watch.
