  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Abyssal Depths

A very high premium on a a tutor, but very justified  IMO.  Especially if those tutored cards are the deck's wincon.  Very good synergy with Vanndar Stormpike where it needs to be the cheapest card anyway. This will vastly improve the consistency of a big DH deck.

Of course, outside of decks built around it, drawing 2 for 4 is very inefficient.

Good for a big minion deck. Pulls Vandar. Better with coin though .

  • School Teacher is a New Card Revealed by Heartkween for Voyage to the Sunken City

This is one of those fun cards I love to see. And not a played out idea. Just Swamp Queen Hagatha, which was a super fun card. Helps with "play a Naga". Good for a slower controling deck that's happy to just put a body down on turn 3 and get a little something to fill out its curve later.

  • Lady Ashvane is a New Warrior Legendary Card Revealed by Jinbae for Voyage to the Sunken City

Wouldn't call a 8-2 Gorehowl useless, back in the day people used it as a finisher 7-1 with Alex. Can't wait to slam someone with that haha.

  • New Hunter Minion - Azsharan Saber

Seems decent but i guess only for Big Hunter ... otherwise i do not see this beeing played.

  • New Warrior Weapon - Azsharan Trident

Very good weapon!  Also works nicely with the new card that buffs weapons for example but also aggro decks like Pirate Warrior will use this!

  • New Shaman Spell - Azsharan Scroll

I will call my new shaman "Avatar Shaman" because of all the elements :)

This seems decent enough to play in a Shaman deck with different spell schools.

  • New Paladin Minion - Azsharan Mooncatcher

Seems good and if your able to dredge fast, this is insane!

  • New Priest Spell - Azsharan Ritual

Even tough i always kinda like silence priest im not sure this one will work. Maybe some sort of new Silence Priest will emerge but now i realy do not see this working out ...

  • New Warlock Minion - Azsharan Scavenger

Yes, Murloc Warlock will make a comeback. This card is very strong. Very good on it's own and the buff afterwards seems pretty nuts with the Dredge Murloc for example.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Abyssal Depths

At first glance .... meh ... but the more i think about this card, the more i think this will see play. Maybe combo but this sound pretty good for Big Demons and maybe there are some OTK Shenanigans with the new Legendary that attacks after a spell so you could tutor this one ....

  • New Neutral Minion - School Teacher

Looks decent and interesting! Not sure where this will fit in ... maybe hunter or priest depending on how much more Naga Synergies we will get.

  • New Hunter Spell - Naga's Pride

Seems ok on it`s own and if there is a cheap naga you can play befre this i even better! Could find play in the upcoming expansion.

  • HS refugee, LoR is fine but where is the fun?

I can agree with all said. Yeah, in MtG it's all about impact when we talk about control decks. All and all my view on the game could be wrong, which prolly is and I can't say otherwise because what I know and what I've seen so far is not the greatest data base for comparison tbf. But still, I can enjoy a first win of the day struggling with Karma /Sol or some retarded greedy comp up until I get a better understanding of the game. The game is clearly designed to be a minions clash with combat tricks and you either let it resolve or you interfere so, yeah I guess for some people it's better than trying to play around board clear or big minion with potential to turn the game around. MtG besides MonoBitch as they used to call it back in the days, I enjoy most of Izzet decks being burn control with insane card draw or mill, or good old 2021 Dragon Control. So,ya. As I said LoR is a decent game, lovely animations sometimes a bit too long but hey, its fancy. Design is overall good quality in terms of mechanics and core values of the game when it comes down to interactive gameplay. So, I guess I am on a quest to come up with a greedy 30% win rate at best deck, haha! I get it that some people will react negative to what I said, coming from a different universe where we play broken cards upon broken cards to defeat even more broken cards yeah, playing for board and buffing units will be a bit strange. Watching players shiver and  calculate how much to advance the board state waiting for "Wrath of God" ( Still legal card btw in MtG ) is just other type of fun, but also gives you time and slows down the pace of the game overall because if you overcommit you are kind of done. So,ya. I can't say that I hate the game, or that the game is just aggro, as I said there are combo decks, burn decks, some midrange but ya in general minions royal. So take it with a grain of salt. Also, I do listen to advice and I do take suggestions if they are explained stupid enough for someone like me who is obviously ignorant af. Before I forget, board development in LoR is slower compared to MtG, not that it's slow in LoR.   :)

P.S Here is my definition of aggro for ya lad , "aggressive deck which attempts to win the game through persistent, quick damage dealing." Just saying.

Stay safe, stay sexy and may the Doomskar be with ya!

This is actually an excellent response to both my post and Trifarian General's post.

I officially apologize for the tone of my most recent response above. It was definitely harsher than necessary, and rude besides. So, my apologies for that.

Back to the original topic, I actually had another thought that hasn't been mentioned yet, in terms of "attrition"-style decks in LoR. Have you investigated Maokai yet? And I don't mean in a deep deck. I mean in a mill deck. They are very niche and barely ever used, but I HAVE seen them.

    Something like this maybe.

Side note - I have never played MtG, but I did play Eternal for quite a while, which is just about as close as you can get to being a MtG clone without being the same game. Generally in games like Eternal (and probably also MtG) aggro is kinda non-viable unless it's completely broken beyond all imagining. When your opponent can remove your units as fast as you play them, for the same mana/card cost or even 2-for-1 or 3-for-1, then aggro just can't ever get started (again, unless it's absurdly fast). In Eternal, the only viable aggro decks would be winning on turn 3 or 4. I assume it's similar for MtG. But LoR is not designed like those games, so aggro looks different here.

It's all good, I might have rubbed it the wrong way with poor explanation in my post as well. I've played Eternal for quite some time as well, was a big fan of Big Combrei with Sandstorm Titans and Harsh Rule being just my all time favorite cards as well as Marshal and Siraf, it fitted my greed personality so good and it felt amazing. MtG and Eternal do have a lot of things in common ( mana flood ) being one of them, the pain feels the same in both games. And in Eternal as well as MtG mono red was the end it pre turn 4 or get wrecked by crazy aoe coming form a minion as a battlecry I don't remember the 4-5 blue or purple flyer that dealt 1 to all enemy minions, or just tons of healing. I have just 1 copy of Mao but I might save up and try to get this deck into working order, I got lucky and pulled 2 copies of Naut so I did try deep it feels good, you stall the game you wait and you hit big but from what I read and saw deep is not doing that great atm. I am trying to play some Purrfection decks I saw but the kitty is just too inconsistent even tho it feels great when you hit it for 30 damage. I don't know about Zoe as a champion it seems like she can fit my style cheap, effective and it can bring some benefits also I was looking at Nami for some reason she seem like a fun combo/controlish champion to play. I will totally try the Maokai deck once I get a bit more materials to craft it! I was wondering if I can work around something with 1 copy of Zoe and 2 copies of Nami to my name, would be happy about it! So, once again my frustration as a newcomer lead to poor reasoning so it was normal for ya to react this way!

Stay safe, stay sexy and may silverblade-menace be with ya

  • Abyssal Depths is a New Demon Hunter Card Revealed by JustAGuy for Hearthstone's Voyage to the Sunken City Expansion

So you can pull two 6-drops out with Drek'thar? I guess that's something, but I doubt it would make up for doing basically nothing the two turns before it. You are also capped at 6 mana minions for Drek'thar to work, so you are limited in what 'big' minions you want to play. Needless to say I'm not convinced.

  • Dean Ayala’s Hearthstone Q&A Recap #40 - Theorycrafting Streams, 4 Expansions Per Year, New Hero Skins

You might want to reread my comment where I said that was "very very conservative". $50 for a complete expansion is the absolute bottom cost that could possibly be charged. Its more likely to be $75-$100 to make up for lost sales of packs. Remember Blizzard is in business to make money. They would need to make up for all the mega bundles they would not sell.

  • New Hunter Spell - Naga's Pride

Lol Zeddy thought the effect stacked each time you play a naga. Unfortunately I think it'll only be 2 3/3 fish but hunter is getting a lot of spell support like Raj Naz'jan and Twinbow Terrorcoil so this spell might see play in a midrange deck

  • New Neutral Minion - School Teacher

This naga is actually pretty good. Basically a 6/5 for 5 mana with an upside you choose depending on board situation. Very great flavor too for teaching the nagaling the spell. Not sure which class will have the best naga/spell heavy synergies (maybe hunter?) but also remember some classes will have small spell selections to choose from (remember how Deck of Lunacy rekt Forged in the Barrens meta) so School teacher will probably only see play when it's released then be forgotten

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Abyssal Depths

This draw spell just screams big Demon or combo DH even though I have no idea what both archetypes will look like after rotation. This card will slot into decks that want to draw specific cards like the above mentions (Vanndar Stormpike and Lady S'theno). But ofc there will be more and more specific minions you'll want to draw as new expansions are released, so if Abyssal Depths is bad this expansion, it might be good in the next one.

  • New Neutral Minion - School Teacher

Swampqueen Hagatha but neutral. Swampqueen Hagatha didn't see much play, but that was because she was simply too slow. And the horror cost 5 mana. But School Teacher somes out a LOT faster, and 3 and lower cost spells are often pretty good. Also the tokens are 1 mana, which end up with a lot more mana cheat.

This will be a must-include in many naga-based decks, because the 1/1s are naga's, and on top of that cards like these are VERY powerfull when there is a small spell pool. And those spell pools are at their tiniest around the rotation. School Teacher is going to see LOTS of play at the very least during this expansion, but it might fall off quite a bit in future expansions... unless the newly printed 3 and lower cost spells are very powerfull.

One deck that's going to guarantee run this is Naga Priest, because priest loves getting more spells out, and they need nagas for their Serpent Wigs. Also maybe some kind of Naga mage will run this.
