Played Warrior, AI wouldn't play the Questline until like turn 5 :( And Anduin kept using the "summon copies of your opponent's minions" option to refill the board after I did. Really annoying.
Won anyway, 'cause AI-Anduin kept using his Hero Power on me, but still: this Brawl is cute in theory, obnoxious in practice.
I'm not sure a subjective reason like that is going to convince someone who discounted him subjectively. For me personally, I like Scabbs fine but still discount him for this purpose as he is part of a series of portraits handed out more or less equally to all classes. He therefore did nothing to address the sizable imbalance between the classes.
Yeh that's the reason i don't really count scabbs. Scabbs and his portraits didn't really fix the problem with rogue having a lot less portraits than other classes. And to me, it feels like they HAD to make scabbs portraits, otherwise rogue would have been the only class without portraits of its mercenary.
But i do want to take a moment to say that i actually like scabbs. I'm happy we got some gnome representation in HS in terms of portraits and i sometimes use one of the scabbs portraits for some decks. Now that i'm reading my original comment again, i do see why some people might assume that i dislike scabbs. I probably should make that more clear in future comments. Honestly i dont hate/dislike scabbs, i just dislike the fact that they neglected rogue for so long in terms of alternate heroes, and when we finally got one it's because they pretty much HAD to.
I was trick or treating and noticed that aposteljoe did not seem to have his Forum title resolving. It just says COMMENT_COUNT_450_HS which doesn't seem like a proper Forum title.
On the topic of "more annoying/challenging tasks" ...
I found 2-3 of Sylvanas' ability tasks to be brutal. I found a video on YT that helped with the deathrattle one (it helps if you have the ability/weapon upgraded so that it will kill 2 enemies at once). Doing the first Barrens bounty map on heroic is a fairly efficient way to do it. What you want to do is find the encounters with the caster Quillboars (blue) and then team Sylvanas with two mercs that can damage her down (because the blue Quillboars only attack from range and won't kill themselves). The video showed Jaraxxus and Ragnaros (I used Rag and Uther which is mildly less efficient). Eventually Sylvanas dies, and takes out the two weak-started Quillboars.
There's also a later task (I think it is 17) where it requires you to gain 90 attack with her ability that gains attack after a friendly unit has died in that game (I forget what it's called). Anyways, I did it in normal Banehollow (Felwood #6) and basically turtled/let three other mercs die while chipping away at the enemy team until only the imp who gives health to adjacent minions (and does not attack/heal itself) was left. Then I hit the Sylvanas "add attack" button every second turn until her attack was over 100 and then killed the imp to end the encounter. Painfully slow, but it meant I only had to suicide my team once.
Those two stand out as the toughest, but there were definitely other tasks where there were relatively elaborate combos to pull off. Task 18 for everyone (so far) has been "deal 450 damage to heroic bosses".
I think a lot of people are judging him by the wrong metric, and counting it as a success only when he's absolutely massive. Quite frankly, just being a 4 mana 6/6 that drew 2 cards is pretty damn good already, and even just a 4/4 that drew 1 is fine (unimpressive in modern HS, though do recall that Azure Drake was sent to the HoF for less than that!).
Regarding the battlecry continuing, I guess it makes sense and is consistent with Instructor Fireheart. Their battlecries are like auras for the rest of the turn, and once he's in your hand he's still around to be buffed.
I think that's exactly my problem as I always feel really dirty with high-roll-y decks that don't need much of a high-roll, so tend to 'lock them away' to repent for my sin of playing them :P
If it's not very difficult now, I shudder at the thought of it in the hypothetical universe where you have enough 0-cost cards to avoid faffing around with the awkward 1-drops. Maybe if there were more ways to remove the Edwin then it would be OK, but I can't think of many things that can actually remove a 30/30 stealth minion on turn 4. They exist, but most classes can't do anything about it even if they draw well, hence why it's not the sort of deck I'd want to be easy to make work.
Honestly, I would just take the reducing cycling power in the 2 slot, and the minimorph change and call it a win.
I just wanted to provide a wide list of balance options as opposed to a all of the above approach.
Otter kinda is op though, like remember when they had to nerf that bouncing elusive 1/1. Or compare it to the bilgewater 2/1 attune that doesn't cycle its 10 times worse.
Speaking of tasks, anyone have any tips on how to unlock Sylvanas' Reclaimed Souls task? I haven't used her a lot but it currently is requiring me to gain 10 attack with reclaimed souls, but the ability ONLY gains attack if one of your characters dies....seems like one of those "you'll get it eventually but it's annoying" tasks....(poorly designed IMO but that's a rant for another time)
Any tips on this one?
Use Samuro mirror image, or anything that spawns minions, kill them, and just reclaim away. You can easily do this in felwood against a very convenient blood imp whose sole ambition is to allow you to do whatever the hell you like as long as he's still alive.
I was a bit surprised to find out that shadowstep Edwin still maintains the buffs and that its an intentional design choice, not a bug.
More surprising was how easy it was to get Edwin draw a ton of cards around turn 6, and I was running weapon rogue (not that bs poison shank rogue that has been plaguing standard currently). Of course, it's not as impactful as the old Edwin was in terms of stats on board, because in all my games my Edwin only ever stuck once, but the draw potential should not be underestimated.
How big was he in standard? If you do it in wild you’ll have a close to full board of stealthed minions so Devolving Missiles will be a lot less consistent. Devolve is great to autowin vs this deck though.
It’s not that hard to get it to work, I’ve gotten it off over 10 times already, and even vs aggro decks like hunters and warriors and murloc shaman, I got 3-0, 2-2, and 1-0.

Pretty nice to have a new brawl finally.
Do not pick Jaina. The AI is so bad it cannot recognize lethal with the spells in hand.
Fairytale Brawl
IMO, this is one of the worst brawls ever. My hero just spent 2 out of 8 mana healing my opponent’s face and ended the turn.

I agree with that completely :) Rogue should have more skins, even though I’ll probably keep using Scabbs.

Long time problem, I blame Shadows for never finishing creating forum titles.
I have no idea when we'll fix it.

Ok some hints in the order of riddle you posted
- Think of explosions…. BIG ONES!!
-It's a card released in a recent expansion, he obviously likes metal and death(maybe)
-She is either summoning a demon or just plain old people giberish
- It's a reference to an older series of games, try diving into the water cards
- Should probably look for someone who would bring ruin, sadly not the darkest dungeon narrator
- Think of someone who always arrives too soon because they called him hours ahead.
- Hang ten is a surf term, if you fail you might join the rest of the souls
- We are currently on the second iteration of the event
