  • The Top Standard Hearthstone Decks According to Blizzard for Early September Laddering

Because the best players play the best decks.

  • The Top Standard Hearthstone Decks According to Blizzard for Early September Laddering

Why should we care about the top 1% of players when the rest of 99% are what 99% of the players face?!

At least provide the statistics for all the "brackets"(where a meaningful number of players reside). Those numbers are completely useless to below diamond.

But of course Blizzard only says half the truth, the one that suits them best (i.e. "hey look, our nerfs had the intended effect! But guess what?! Only for 1% of the playerbase because the others are too bad at the game to care about them").

I still question my sanity for paying for some arenas, with $, a few years ago when I was playing the game. It's sad that the HS whales don't find better games out there to invest into :(

What you said directly points at the fact that the core design of the game is flawed (or at least had become like that). The pipe dream you are talking about should be what happens in most cases, except for the standard deviation/fringe cases.

Think of it as an inverted U curve where around 70% of its area represents what you call the "pipe dream". That is the sweet spot in my opinion.

Exactly. We just had a control priest meta in Barrens and everyone was super upset about that. Now that we have decks with clear win conditions and decks that win fast and people are complaining again. I honestly think its better to not address these people because they will complain no matter what.

    Quote From Meneldor

The problem with face hunter right now is that it has just enough cards to be good. Builds aren't flexible at all and if you're not careful with what you're nerfing and how much you could kill the whole deck easily and that's a problem because Hunter has only one viable deck right now and that's exactly face hunter

Then perhaps blizzard should stop forcing the same archetype over and over?  Players are like a current (voltage), they will find the path of least resistance.  Players are HAPPY to try something new (look at how quest hunter was played in the first few days versus now).  But they will only continue to play it if it has the ability to compete with the big boys.   This is why decks like spell hunter (with Rok' delar) were viable.  They provided hunters with something to fill their weak point (hand size, which in this case was random spell generation from a single card) but required a deck building mechanic to be fufilled.

I also think he's pointing out that Aggro/face hunter has been the best deck for quite awhile with little-to-zero nerfs.  It's ok for decks to be "low man on the totem pole" but for some odd reason, hunter is never there.  They may never be the #1 or #2 meta deck, but they are never #9 either.  (Well except for this meta and the last one, where apparently aggro hunter is the #1 deck.)

It doesn't help that for a lot of people (myself included), that if you have a bunch of fun/flashy cards that cost 6+, but you almost never get to see those cards played (even for memes), then the game is heading in a direction that fundamentally is broken.

    TLDR...

Expectation: People should play Hearthstone to have fun.  That doesn't mean you need to play aggro decks at the beginning of every month to "rank up faster", hell, the POINT of the monthly star bonus was to allow you to reclaim your previous season's rank without having to work quite as hard as you did the previous season)

Reality: Too many people play Hearthstone like they are planning on joining an e-sports tournament, and think they'll be invited to this year's Inn-vitational.

I read a blog a few years ago, and while I can't remember the specifics at this point, the message roughly paraphrased was this:

If your only goal is to "rank up" or reach a specific competitive milestone on a regularly basis, you'll quickly find that this metric becomes meaningless.  Don't make your play sessions into cyclical grinds. (i.e. Ranking up for the sake of ranking up)

  • Hearthstone's Warlock Nerf Announced - Stealer of Souls & Flesh Giant Both Receiving Cost Increases

False. Prior to the latest nerfs giants seedlock was the better deck as it beat ruixiang warlock, plus everything else.

Since the nerfs it's kind of up in the air which version's the better one.

  • Meta Changes No One Will Talk About But Me

Yes and I provide mobalytics stats that directly contradict what is being said. Also I'm honored you made a meme about me not sure if that speaks to your abundance of spare time or my influential nature in the community.

    Either way thanks :)

Can you read the post? Questline warlock and shaman are definitely viable so what are you complaining about?

  • Rewards Track: Current progress 3.0

I hit level 100 yesterday. Took the Uther skin for the completed track.

  • The Top Standard Hearthstone Decks According to Blizzard for Early September Laddering

if every deck were thief rogue, players would whine about how there is too much generation and i can't play around anything, my decisions don't even matter because my opponent had better RNG.

  • Rewards Track: Current progress 3.0

Level 80 and a better Tamsin portrait than the previous one, a few XP:s from her own adventure got me over the line. Looking forward to upgrade it further at lvl 100!

  • Hearthstone Book of Mercenaries Tamsin Roame is Now Live - Get a Free Warlock Card Pack

One of my favorite storylines so far in HS. Yes, it's very dark, but it works.

As I suspected the different questlines from UiS are integrated in the storytelling. Each questline gives us a different aspect of what goes down in Stormwind and some of the remaining Book of Mercenaries will probably also fill us in on the plot. I like the way Team5 have handled this so far!

  • Are You a Hearthstone Master Duelist? Episode 1: Twisted... To Perfection!

I tried a few classes and did poorly overall, but it was definitely fun. 5 wins with a Questline Rogue (of all things! lol) was my best. The others were more minion heavy builds using Darkmoon Statue that weren't very good. However, I added him to my next non-challenge run with my favorite DH token build and it was quite effective there. Forced me to use a card... and realize it had potential elsewhere. :)

I definitely want to jump in early on the next challenge. Someone msg me if I don't show up!

  • Meta Changes No One Will Talk About But Me

Drake Hotline Bling Meme | Statistics; NIFTY; Conjecture | image tagged in memes, drake hotline bling | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

On a serious note it's a bit odd that someone provides statistical site evidence and you dismiss it completely out of hand with nothing more than baseless opinions.  I'm not saying you can't have an opinon, but it's a unique type of person to dismiss stats completely when presented with countering evidence and statements like:

    • "I dont know if I can trust that website"
    • "I actually belive pirate aggro has never been worse"
    • "And I think that fleet feather tracker into lulu is easy to counter"
  • Meta Changes No One Will Talk About But Me

Pirate aggro is the most straight forward deck in the game, it's always going to have a high winrate because people are less likely to make mistakes with it. It can also win unfavorable match up if your opponent don't have a good opening hand. That doesn't mean it's the best deck the game.

The deck is also played a lot in Master because it has a favorable match up against Nami/Zoe who is the most popular deck at that rank.

  • Meta Changes No One Will Talk About But Me

I dont know if I can trust that website its saying pirate aggro is winning 60% of games which would make it the best deck in the game for ladder and I actually belive pirate aggro has never been worse.

Now bandle tree Swarm I can find stats for aka tristana poppy and it's at 54% but Poppy Lulu I know it's seen a huge drop in play and there's gotta be a reason for that.

And I think that fleet feather tracker into lulu is easy to counter so people stopped playing it.

  • Hearthstone Battlegrounds Guaranteed Offering Rate of New Heroes (Master Nguyen & Cariel Roame) Temporarily Disabled

I got offered Cariel only once and got a lovely 8th.

I hope you get offered Nguyen soon, I think he is a really fun hero to play because you need to plan your turn differently.

  • Meta Changes No One Will Talk About But Me

Mobalytics only tracks the statics of players who use the app if you don't see Poppy deck on their meta states is doesn't mean that they loose so often or that nobody is playing them, it's just mean that the player who use the application aren't playing said decks.

If you look at statics from Dak who actually use the Riot official API you will notice that Poppy decks have both solid win rates and play rates.

  • The Top Standard Hearthstone Decks According to Blizzard for Early September Laddering

Yes, fast decks are historically easier to pilot than slower ones and thus often have a higher winrate. Why do we have to go through this every time.

You can easily play a heal heavy Priest deck that just grinds them all to dust, but you're gonna get shafted by Warlock 100% of the time (unless they fuck up) and Warlock is still a huge presence. If it wasn't, everyone would just bitch and moan about how games last an hour and all you can do is watch your board getting blown up over and over.

People really need to stop chasing the pipe dream of a meta where every single archetype is viable without somehow having a polarizeed matchup spread and games last long enough to play all your cards but not long enough for it to be annoying, and doing all of it without having excessive card generations or unavoidable win conditions.

Basically people want every deck to be Thief Rogue. Maybe they should make a mode for that and then everyone finally shuts up.
