7th August update: Boltzmann's WILD Pirate Shadow Priest - United in Stormwind
An aggressive priest deck? Other high legend players like Otters have taken this deck forward. This is Boltzmann's version. The most fun I have had with Priest. If it has a chance of beating Warlock, that makes me happy.
From my experience so far: - The best thing about this deck? Mind Blasts to the face. - The most under-rated thing about this deck? Not reading the card text of Voidtouched Attendant and realising how powerful it is. - The funniest thing about this deck? Shadowcloth Needle and Deckhand synergy is GLORIOUS. A Priest making a pirate charge face!
What do tribes have to do with anything when the problem is the damage taken (a lot of times 15-20 on turns 7-8)? It's just about the amount of fun some people get to have. It's like these designers don't realize you can have fun even when losing if the journey (to the end) was interesting enough.
I tried some time ago (i think WoW related) and they always dodged the questions. And no, it wasn't asked in a toxic way. Also, i don't have a twitter account nor do i want to make one just for this (especially when there are a lot of people complaining about the same thing that do).
Well even tough i only used her three times since i played the deck - she can be a lot of fun and very powerful. Made a DemonZoo List with her and so far it performs pretty well.
Well, i don't know if it is that different on Europe Server because the last 15 Games i haven't faced one single Warlock. Mostly Paladin , Mage and Hunter. Sometimes a Druid or Demon Hunter. Also faced only 3 Priests since launch and 2 of them were Shadow.
But Warlock , Shaman or Rogue are absolutely abstinent - at least the last 15 Games for me if not more.
Well, can't realy say what others haven't said before :)
Everyone who plays the game can and should play what they enjoy - even if it is a deck that doesn't agree with you or you often times lost too.
Most people play to win or simply have fun - and if their fun means playing for example Quest Mage because they maybe enjoy or like it they are allowed to do that.
Sounds very entitled and self centred - and like mentioned above - belongs in the Salt Thread.
I'm trying to have some fun and I keep hitting Quest Warlock. I think I'll take a step back until the Warlock Quest has been removed from the game because I can't have fun when all I face is a deck that requires 0 thought.
Could I netdeck something that will beat it? Sure. But then I don't have fun. I like my games to last longer than 3 minutes.
Sure, you can imagine you're above everyone who plays the decks you don't like, but you're just fooling yourself. Everyone has their own reason for playing the game, and your's isn't any better or more noble than anyone else's. It's a video game. Get a grip.
I'm hopeful that when the cards rotate to wild we could dust the uncraftables - I'm not really bothered about Golden Cards myself so the choice at least would be appreciated. Dust > Vanity for me.
I opened 2 of them. Can only hope the golden copies can be disenchanted in the distant future. Playing them with Priest in wild is pretty fun, though, works more often than I expected.
I actually rather like the fact that there is so much card draw in HS now. I like being able to know that I can find the power cards in my deck and it becomes more about knowing if I can survive my opponent’s power cards and resource management etc.
However, I think the main crux of the issue is that too much Mana Cheating was introduced alongside this abundant card draw. Some obvious examples are cards like: Incanter’s Flow, Refreshing Spring Water, the Runed Mithril Rod and Octobot (and to a certain extent, the Loan Shark in Rogue giving then free coins).
Card draw is not the problem, but when the cards drawn have basically 0 cost to them, you can do whatever you want with them. That’s why it feels so disgusting to play against because every card is basically free, you shouldn’t be able to fill your hand with cards and empty them at the same time! There should be a clear sacrifice to these things: draw cards or play them… not both!
I completely agree that mana cheating is not innocent in this, and I am also concerned about the number of cards that reduce mana costs these days. Even if they aren't all competitive, there was a whole 15 cards in Stormwind that reduced the cost of other cards or cast them for free. 15! And that's not even including the coin generators.
However, I don't think we can just decouple it from card draw and blame the mana reduction by itself. Without lots of card draw mana reduction isn't a big problem either. No one would care about Incanter's Flow if only 1 card was drawn each turn.
The two problems are deeply intertwined, partly through 0 mana card draw, and partly through what @Sykomyke described as "word creep", which is basically saying the minions have more stats for a given effect than they used to. Or equivalently, they cost less than they would have done a few years ago if they had the same stats and effect. With the latter viewpoint, minion-based card draw is effectively mana reduced, even if that hasn't explicitly happened.
Whether it has explicitly had its mana cost reduced or its base cost is just a lot cheaper than it used to be, it's the same story: everyone can draw more and do more each turn than they used to, which helps aggro and combo more than control.
I'd love to see them double up on those slots for rewards. I know so many people just don't care about golden cards that it would be a really nice square to give them something.
How about something that sorta merges all the ideas? You'd need to split the reward up into a free non-golden epic and a token that makes a non-golden epic into an undisenchantable (!) golden epic?
Don't think it's going to go like that. Large Swings turns are pretty much the default now, whether we like it or not and I doubt it's going to change anytime soon. That being said, midrange can still be played if you have some amount of swing turns of your own (nothing game ending, just a decent powerplay that demands a response).
I don#T think we really need to go back to the time where you either had your 1, 2, 3 curve or lost miserably.
Why doesn't anyone ask him about making BG changes to increase health points or reduce the damage in every turn? :( or maybe he just skips these questions...
I thought so too, but after playing the deck myself (because of the achievement) I realised it's actually wildly inconsistent and can brick really hard to the point of unplayability.
But all of that is irrelevant because it's only viable because of a bug which lets the Bleeds be affected by Spell Damage, which they shouldn't (at least based on every other Cast when drawn damage card)
It always boggles my mind when people try and win in a competitive game by doing everything they can to win. Kind of reminds me of the Olympics. Why do they try so hard?

If you really hate Q Mage and Warlock so much just go and play Glide DH. I’m bot kidding, it actually completely destroys both of them. Only problem is that it loses hard to aggro deck
I really don't mind people ranting because everyone needs to release some pent up anger at something and it might as well be a written piece in the internet than the house cat. But really, this sort of thing belongs in the salt thread. Just use it, you'll find more sympathetic people there than you would making two (for some reason) new threads doing the same thing.
Also, while I share alot of despondence about the current meta, I wouldn't call it low skill exactly (apart of quest mage because Im absolutely convinced you can build a bot to man the deck and still manage a positive win rate).
Devs are meeting on tuesday to make some changes. We'll all just exercise some patience until then.
But seriously: Use the salt threads. It'll be a happier experience I assure you

Right now im 10-2 - but the list is sureley not refined and from Day one.
One time i used her with coin on 5 and got pretty crazy Dragons - like a 1 Mana Alex for example :)

I mean, they are already reworking every tribe in the game, this will surely also have an impact on the average damage taken

I don´t play for the entertainment of my opponent. Don´t be so self centred. It is a competitive game. People play surprisingly to win!

I cannot be the only one who doesn't want cross over content? I feel like it is never done well and only weakens the vibe from an ip.
Also I find it super funny how hard T5 has been trying to create a vehicle card that replaces your hand. I know we will get it one day.
