Awesome seeing Maestra of the Masquerade up there. I theory crafted a similar idea of using Wyrmrest Purifier. Was so fun, but I went very greedy keeping almost all neutral minions in deck. Really fun deck overall. I'll try out this better version for sure.
I really wish I could get back all the money I've wasted on this game, and especially this expansion. Thanks Team5, for just straight up killing all of my enjoyment with your lazy, untested garbage quest. I swear, they must have played one game with it against an aggro hunter that drew the nuts and just decided it was too slow to see play. Sigh, fuck this shit, man, I need to learn to like a different game.
8th August update: WILD Aggro Pirate Priest, 7-0 run to Legend, ft. Shadowed Spirit!
Another video on aggro Priest. This deck got me to legend!
Stats: 7-0. My most efficient (lucky) run to legend ever.
It is different to the Boltzmann deck that I played a couple of days ago.
From my experience so far:
- Shadowed Spirit felt like a cool inclusion. - Not sure about Void Shard? - This deck does not run Shadow Visions or Thrive in the Shadows - I did not miss those spells. - Ship's Canon never saw play... and so I wonder, is it needed?
Care the explain why every time you deign to comment on a thread you go out of your way to thumb down every comment above you? You're in need of some serious forum etiquette learning.
I haven't done much Windows development, could a bot not send mouse events to the game while it is in the background? Using the mod to send keyboard events would mean that it wouldn't have to know the precise position of UI elements.
It would also be able to get all the information it needs from the gameplay logs. Sure they default to disabled, but turning them on is pretty simple.
As for reaching Legend, even if the bot only knows how to play a single deck, how many situations would the bot need to know how to respond to in order to maintain a 50%+ winrate, especially after D5? I'm assuming your account didn't start with a 13 star bonus in this scenario.
Edit: I just remembered machine learning was a thing, like those AI that play SC2 at Grandmaster level. I don't know about reaching Legend in a couple of days given the amount of time that would probably be spent trying random shit before it learns what works, and all the RNG shit the game throws at you might be another layer of complexity.
8th August update: Oakijak's Even Tax Paladin: Nerub'ar Weblord and Far Watch Post MVP!
Warlock must pay their taxes. The tax man ALWAYS collects. A wonderful off-meta deck from Oakijak: Even Tax Paladin. Nerub'ar Weblord and Far Watch Post were the MVP cards!
While I agree that there is exactly zero reason why Flesh Giant, of all giants, should be the cheapest, considering how easily it can be (permanenty) discounted in contrast to Mountain Giant, Molten Giant etc. it don't think destroying that card alone fixes the problem. There is still an underlying groundwork of brokenness that allows Warlock to even discount the Giant as quickly as they do (note how utterly useless the card is in Priest). Nerf the giant, definitely, but Darkglare HAS to go too. It's Darkglare that enables all of this shit in the first place and it's absurd to me that it has been allowed to exist in its current state after the first nerf. I mean they nefed it and it became the centrepiece of one of the most dominant decks in Wild's history.
There's no way I should be able to play Quest on turn 1 and then immediately seize the board on turn 2 with coin by playing 6 mana worth of stuff on turn 2 and still have mana left over. Darkglare + Tour Guide + Flame Imp + 2x Kobold Librarian and good luck to the opponent in controlling the board despite the fact I skipped my turn 1. My hand is refilled, I have tons of bodies on the board and the opponent likely has to spend their entire turn just killing the Darkglare.
They should definitely up the giant's cost to at least 10 if not 12, but it's only a matter of time until another card is printed that abuses Darkglare, giant or no, since self damage is such an integral part of Warlock identity. Tying mana cheating to the basic thing Warlocks do is just not on. Make that thing trigger only once a turn, maaaybe refresh 2 crystals instead of one to compensate, though that might still be way too generous of a mana cheat. At best you'd have a free 2/3 that requires an answer, but you can't just run away with the game within the span of a one turn from hand.
For glare, just make it a 3/4 for 3again like used to but keep refresh 1mana instead of old refresh 2 and make raise dead 1.
That would weaken/slow it down quite abit, (glare into raise into 1drops would be turn 4 vs turn 2)

I'm afraid I have to insist: this would change everything.
Smart bots were banned by Blizzard many years ago, and thousands of accounts were banned. Blizzard's "excuse" for banning them was precisely that they injected code into the executable (which is precisely what this "mod" does), which violates Blizzard's rules. This type of bots no longer exist nowadays, as it's very easy to detect them (a checksum of the executable would suffice) and the ban of the account would be immediate.
The bots that still exist today are repetition bots, that is, they do not think for themselves, they only limit themselves to following a series of serial orders, since they only interact with the graphical interface blindly.
As a programmer, I could create an intelligent bot thanks to this "mod" in 10 minutes, since this mod would allow me to bypass the graphical interface and directly collect the information I need to know everything: what cards are in my hand, how much mana I have, what are the minions in play and where are they, etc ...
What's more, this "mod" would allow my bot to interact with the game without using the mouse, just sending keyboard commands, and therefore I could be doing anything while my bot makes me reach legend in a couple of days and level 400 in no more than a month.
In short, Blizzard will NEVER allow this project to continue as a "mod", unless they do it themselves and integrate it into the game, but I think it's pretty obvious that won't happen.
I can't really imagine what it would be like to be blind or deaf but I am sure if I were, I would love this CCG. This is a very cool modification. Cudos to the coders and thanks for the article!
I want to see a nerf to Occult Conjurer. Their burst can be healed through, but that card alone patches one of few abusable weaknesses it had, which was a weak turn 4.
Thanks for highlighting my deck! It's what I made for the give-away. I still have to try it myself, but now that I've had a peak of the new Wild ladder I don't think it's very strong. Luckily, that doesn't mean it can't be fun!
Ragnaros
My first card back.

This used to be my default before the random one.
