Tying the giveaway to deckbuilding/theorycrafting gets a big 10/10 from me. It prompted me to make my first theorycraft deck, write my first deck guide, and participate way more than liking/commenting on every card. Plus, having a combination of random draw (for those who want to just do the basics) and a curated/judged winner (for those who really want to go all out) seems really cool to me.
Good work, and good luck everyone! (Though I want to take some of your luck for myself)
Meant to work with Grand Magus Antonidas and flexible damage in mage can always be useful. Least the damage is only to minions or we'd be in for a lot of pain
So this minion can be played in a basic shadow priest where you just want to add extra pressure or, maybe an OTK deck which would probably be easily done in wild. Interesting design and being a one drop means we'll see it in paladin from time to time
If shadow priest were to ever struggle against aggro, this weapon would fix that problem. This Shadow priest is looking quite interesting considering all the support.
We'll see how difficult it is to cast 3 fire spells in 3 turns. Seeing all the support they got in this expansion and the theorycrafting streams, it doesn't seem that bad. Best to use Antonidas as a finisher though on an empty board
Here's an attempt at shuffle rogue courtesy of the new deathrattle cards. Sad that we didn't get a new deathrattle marquee minion for rogue, but ticket master will still suffice.
Do these calculations care which order you play cards to complete the steps? While not ideal, if it's turn 3, for example, and you haven't drawn a 2-cost yet, but you have a 3-cost, I think you should be able to play it since it doesn't say you have to play the cards in order.
Yep, it starts at x-4 because that leaves us with the amount of cards in the deck that arent 1 of the 4 cards we are looking for. It gets larger as it goes on because we draw more cards, reducing X. X initially starts at 30, but realistically you would just replace X with whatever the current library size is when you start the calculations. For example, if theres 24 cards left, you'd start with 1-((24-4)*(24-5)*etc)/(24*(24-1)*etc).
Good point! Tradable cards definitely help with consistency, I'm just not a huge fan of the ones currently printed. Hopefully the mechanic becomes evergreen because I'm a diehard mtg cycling fanatic and I feel like giving more classes the ability to be versatile can lead to a very interesting meta.
"We have plans to introduce new archetypes, some of which will definitely be non-aggro"
"some of which"... implying most of the new archetypes are not non-aggro. Would be disappointing if so - aggro has already enjoyed dominance for much of Hearthstone's history while being further incentivized as a faster way to climb the ladder. I'd love to play cool, expensive cards but it's hardly possible when games tend to end by turn 5, especially in Wild. Please, Dean, let's make ALL of the new archetypes non-aggro!
No matter if they create less aggro card, people will allways find ways to create decent aggro decks for fast climb. as long as ladder, and quest stays like is is now
First Wild deck submission, I'm quite surprised I must say, oh well, if you are a enjoyer of the Uldum Quest Hunter like myself, take a look at my list!
Come to think of it, adding like that is obviously wrong because the probability exceeds 100% within 2 or 3 turns, but in reality they could be the last 4 cards in the deck. I just tried adding because even though probabilities are generally multiplied i.e. probability of flipping a coin and getting heads three times in a row is 1/2*1/2*1/2=1/8, it came to like 3/50000. I think I may have been calculating the probability of drawing 1 of 4 cards, then doing it again, etc. Maybe I need a review of combinatorics.
Does the sequence in the numerator start at x-4 because we are looking at 1 of 4 cards? X being 30 because this is Hearthstone, right?
I feel like trading could be really interesting with the quest. Either you use them to continue the early parts of the questline or you trade them to search for the more expensive cards in your deck.
I'm a sucker for random bundles of stats, so I've created an Evolve Shaman. I'll be updating the guide with card changes and thoughts once the expansion drops, so stay tuned!

I really like the story on most of the questlines. It is very understandable from the images

New Shaman Minion - Granite Forgeborn
Oh boy... this guy and Bolner Hammerbeak could lead to some insane elemental decks. Even more Shamanstone, here we come
New Warlock Spell - Dreaded Mount
Should be very fun to play with Dreadsteeds again. Could do some fun shenanigans in Standard with Vectus for some meme value
New Mage Spell - First Flame
Meant to work with Grand Magus Antonidas and flexible damage in mage can always be useful. Least the damage is only to minions or we'd be in for a lot of pain

[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
ok, I'll start thread but I will need to learn how to do leaderboard

Wild Even Handlock Warlock. Maybe not that strong but should be pretty fun to play all those big minions.

Personally I was waiting for a bit more finisher type questline for Rogue. As flavorful as it is, it's not what I was hyping for.
