ok, I'll start thread but I will need to learn how to do leaderboard
It's not that hard. Just press the "tables" button and work from there. You need two columns and can adjust the rows on the fly. Let me know if you need help!
All the "For the rest of the game" effects are exactly that, so they've been present for a few years (maybe even going back to the very beginning if you consider original Jaraxxus). They were first used in a broad way in One Night in Karazhan (they were 2-3 encounters which had portals on one or both sides), and came back in wide use for all the Un'goro quests, and again for the hero powers during Frozen Throne.
I'm starting this game again. Historically I played it mostly at beginning. Got a couple of (newb?) questions :
- Zoe evolution condition states that she must see you playing 10 cards with different names for her to evolve. I know that for couting she must be on board. What I'm wondering is does the counter is saved if she dies and you play another ? Or do you start all over? Should it be the later, she looks... slightly impossible to evolve...
- When you buy a card skin, you're offered a free copy of the champion. But if you craft a regular copy, does it show with the skin or you must buy the skin again ?
- What do you think is the shortest/most consistent way to get Legendary Jokers ?
I've got a now probably outdated Jinx/Draven Discard aggro, which is my serious, quest grinding deck. Now what I'll be aiming is playing dank meme decks, because I like whacky conditions. What I've been thinking to build (for the lulz, not for the winrate lol) :
- Any EDH deck (one copy only of each card)
- A deck with 3 copy of Zoe cuz I love the mechanics behind the card even if she looks... erh
- A landmark deck (coming from Shadowverse and I loved countdown amulets)
- A heavily RNG based deck (much like Hearthstone Tess Rogue) when I want to shut down teh brain.
So last question : What's your most whacky/meme deck ?
DH has received nothing for Odd DH aside from Sigil of Alacrity, and I frankly don't know if they need that card. Control DH seems better, but still lacks a win con, unless we want to pretend King Togwaggle DH will be a thing, which may just be seeing how much the draw archetype has been pushed this expansion. Now find me a way to play Azalina Soulthief wtihout running Emperor Thaurissan... oh wait, Skull of Gul'dan.
Defend the Dwarven District will be Hunter's biggest hope to be a better class in Wild. I do not think it will be strictly for full Spell deck despite the support Hunter got from Kobolds, as Hunter still likely needs sustain, so back to Vicious Scalehide and whatnot.
Sanctum Chandler with Ignite and Hot Streak gives me hope for a new Minion Mage deck, because you will be able to use all these cards with 2x Sorcerer's Apprentice for an OTK. Meanwhile, Clumsy Courier will free Reno Pocket Galaxy Mage from the dragon package, though will still be preferred because of being active on turn 6.
Rise to the Occasion could give a late game win condition for Odd Paladin, and that deck is already strong enough because of its ability to rush you down. However, playing the Quest itself is a slow play, so it could probably create a new Odd Paladin branch focused on more control.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Seek Guidance possibly overtake current Reno Priest's win condition. It's just much easier to complete, and it still benefits from Lorekeeper Polkelt.
Garrote maybe for Shuffle and Aggro Rogue, but nothing new for Odd and Kingsbane.
Shaman still enjoys its current place, but I could see Auctionhouse Gavel in Shudderwock decks to either reduce the cost of him or his pieces.
New tools for Even Warlock and a never ending debate whether or not to include the new Quest in Darkglare Warlock - it adds burst damage, but hurts your Molten Giant turns because of lifesteal.
Hayday for Pirate Warrior, and the new Quest could be included in Control Warrior variant, possibly Odd or DMH. Also Remote-Controlled Golem gains power with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. And Heavy Plate seems to be a solid candidate to replace Bring It On! in Dead Man's Hand lists - 2 less armor and 1 mana more expensive, but no side effect to boost your opponent.
Maybe it is not wise to not use any rogue cards than Maestra of the Masquerade and may be it seems stupid to build a deck without any spells but it feels like i can find spells from neutral cards since there are a lot of spell discoverer/finder cards such as Venomous Scorpid or Pandaren Importer.
However: 1 tipp for beating gp: make sure his board is full when you hit him below 20 hp to make the ship not spawn.
I'd love to know how you manage(d) to do this with any consistency, and without dying to his attacks. So far, I've had zero opportunities to let him fill his board without being in danger of dying due to his attack, and then somehow damaging him below 20 without killing off any units.
Just finished my first run with MF, didn't have much problem with GP since I had an insanely fast deck with domination and an elusive Miss Fortune my only death came from getting snowballed by a legion marauders deck.
I haven't lost yet with MF against GP, but I've rarely spent so much time planning my moves carefully against an AI before. In my most recent battle, I was going for the S-badge for Skill, meaning no deaths and no healing nodes. I picked up a few healing potions on spells, and those kept me healthy throughout the run.
I wound up beating GP by planning ahead to the next turn when I was going to spawn in the Dreadway. I had a Hextech Transmogulator, which reduced cost when spells are cast. It was down to costing 1. I also had a Siphoning Strike in hand, as well as a 7/3 spellshield Akshan on the board. So, I purposely dropped him below 20 health, knowing it would spawn Dreadway and draw GP. There's no way he keeps GP in hand, so we know he will play GP. I Siphoning Strike GP, he responded with a Make It Rain that was killing off both of my 1/1 units, so I had to respond to that by doing the Transmogulator earlier than planned. But in any case, I killed GP and transformed Dreadway to a 1/1. Then I killed him on my open attack on the next turn, since all of my units had overwhelm. Incidentally, Crush is one of the best passives in this game mode, even if you don't get Evolution.
But even with all that, he still had me down to 20 health at the end. When this kind of dramatic dominance and planning are required just to have a chance at winning, you know that a fight is hard.
I think hunter's easily got the best quest. I actually like all of the Questlines but Defend the Dwarven District is just very strong. Also Aimed Shot is just nuts.
Devouring Swarm is such an interesting card too. That flavor text gets me though. As an MTG fan I just imagine the Eldrazi Emrakul being eaten by rats! HA.
Really love the mage cards this set. Ignite really makes the quest work by both being an activator and a late game finisher after you play Dawngrasp. I also love Prestor's Pyromancer for the fact that he doesn't say "this turn" in his text. Makes him really interesting.
Haha, oh yes, this is one that I've got to try out, if only for the cackles when you play Tess and your opponent realizes that it was a ruse all along, fool!
You got me giggling good here On a serious note, it is also fuel for the quest, so if the quest end up being viable, so should this one. Note that there is a big if here
I've finally reached level 226, which was my goal for this expansion cycle. Combined with reaching level 174 for the Darkmoon track, it puts my total levels at an even 400 for the cumulative levels achievement. Now I just have to reach an even 200 every time to stay on track with my hero skin rewards! I may reach 227, since I have one 'extra' daily quest out of the three I plan on saving for the Stormwind launch. No XP boosts here. According to calculations, I would have been around level 270 with the boosts.
During this period, I purchased 63 packs, 3 hero skins at 1500, the miniset, and the Power Core card back. Which means I spent roughly 13400 gold and earned roughly 12000. That I still have 9300 gold right now is a testament to how little money I spent during Darkmoon (I only purchased 15 Darkmoon packs)! Cosmetic purchases aside, I'm usually happy to simply slowly roll my way to having 100% of rares. As a Wild player I only craft specific things here and there and the packs from ranked rewards, promotions, events, drops, and tavern brawls are enough for my needs.
We'll see how Stormwind pans out. Best of luck to all.
Odd Spell Hunter seems incredibly fun, and it was cool actually getting to write a guide for one of my decks, even if it's probably bad, was originally going to be longer, but the matchups section ended up dragging on and couldn't get through all 25 decks listed on tempostorm, so I decided to scrap it
Happy to see such an interesting idea for this giveaway, which has motivated me to create my first theorycraft ever :P All the best for everyone else participating in this giveaway!
That is a great suggestion. About 20% of the spells mage has are frost, so at 5 rolls it is very likely to find one if the damage is relevant, and even if you don't the quest reward isn't always needed. Thank you.

Elwynn Boar/Sword Hunter
You should add Animated Broomstick to kill those Elwynn Boars, Just Devouring Swarm might not help, 4x cards for that is always better than 2x. :)

The silliest burgle rogue yet
There are so much opportunities in wild and Wyrmrest Purifier is one of the best options for that kind of deck for sure.
But I will try my chance on Standard. Made already a deck around Maestra of the Masquerade;

If you really want to tease your opponent (at your own detriment), you could include cards that reveal cards in your deck - Spiteful Summoner, Grand Archivist, Keening Banshee, Gadgetzan Jouster, Armored Warhorse, Fel Reaver, Master Jouster, The Skeleton Knight... that may be all the options, actually.
