It's a matter of investment. Why start playing Mythgard when I invested so much time in, say, Hearthstone? IMO, if indie card games want to succeed, they need a different business model.
This should be very effective against aggro while being rather bad against the rest. I can see it seeing some play and doing wonders with kegs but the it is still a slow speed spell... I think one has to see how well it does in practice...
Card games are a pretty niche market, all things considered - as far as IRL games, very few CCGs survive longer than a couple years. There is a website which catalogues a lot of the CCGs which have been printed (nearly 400 since MtG debuted.) About two dozen survived longer than five years. It's more of a brand-driven market rather than a game-driven market - the "big brands" dominate (the usual suspects), mostly supplemented by licensed IPs (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, etc) that typically disappear from the shelves once the license expires. Digital CCGs don't appear to be much of an exception.
you guys are shooting me down and your answer is: 'well maybe shadow priest will be a thing'. i don't know how your thoughts ended there tbh but yeah it could be a thing - and it being a thing results in current priest still being broken and shadow being broken, or this being broken and shadow being gargage(my guess). a blizzard-packaged pre-built archetype doesn't have me excited tbh - unless it deletes half the discover cards it currently has. i guess you guys meant i should be happy priest isn't getting more discover support? you've no guarantee of that. blizz devs need your feedback on this, they will not deliver you a balanced game - meta after meta its always the case. yet when they're slow to patch, and when they reprint a problematic card the mob always turns on the guy making the complaints. &*%$ you guys. priest singlehandedly ruins the game rn from mechanics to game experience to matchups / win rate. why would you guys ever defend blizzard on this/on slow patches broken metas its insane
Okay, another week, went up from lvl 200 to lvl210. All XP achievements done. Last time I´ve ended at 225 I think, so it´s possible I´ll end up there this time too.
How ya´ll doing so far and where do you think you´ll end?
P.S. I´ve found the first person claiming to finish the track today, hitting the lvl 400. Not sure how true it is tho, the picture looks sus :P
They monitor engagement in various ways (albeit not always perfectly), and the reveals of the past that lasted for several weeks while trickling down a few cards here and there weren't generally met with great enthusiasm. People would get tired and bored of the prolonged teasing, and not much care to check a daily card or two. I know I would usually block it out and then look up once or twice a week, if that.
I'm not convinced their current system is that great either due to this "dry period", but feels better out of the two. I do however miss having some sort of small initial reveal stream to fill one week and generate more buzz, since they never fit all remaining cards into the final stream anyway and unceremoniously just dump some of them afterwards.
Damn, that's a great shame. It's a very difficult market due to the lion's share Hearthstone took so very early and the time (plus money for some at least) it demands when simply playing any mode in order to make any noticeable progress, just as World of Warcraft has been for MMOs for so long. One of the reasons why I never got around to trying Mythgard in the end. Not nearly enough hours in the day to invest, while interest was always there.
You can tell they've been very passionate about it, and it's a heartfelt message that brings sadness. Hopefully the team can bounce back and find future success elsewhere.
I've been playing a lot of Galakrond Warlock that has an oddly favorite card of mine, Blood Troll Sapper. It has never ever been a "meta" card and it never will be. But holy shit has it been clutch in some games as the finisher after my opponent puts up a big taunt wall and feels safe. It's also been great for going face with a bunch of low health, higher attack minions, trade one off if you need a spot on the board, and then Sapper + Defile to get 12 more burst damage (or more if some of your minions are eggs and the hatching minion(s) can also die. I have fun imagining my opponent's reaction when they a) see the card land on the board and b) die because of it!
Also, Egg Zoo Lock (or my Galakrond Lock list) benefits greatly from Ritual of Doom. I've had a few turns where I go from nothing on board to suddenly: (5/5) (5/5) (4/1) (1/1) (1/1) (2/1)
Not the most intimidating of boards, but when your opponent is low on resources from constantly clearing your swarm of invoked Imps and other minions, it can be tough for them to deal with and lead into some fun Sapper shenanigans!
At the risk of turning this into Treasure Hunt ping-pong, is it Ysera the Dreamer? New take on old card, battlecry get 5, arena champ according to heartharena.
The probable targets for a nerf will likely be either Apotheosis, Renew or Venomous Scorpid. Renew would probably get bumped 1 mana up to remove it from wandmaker's pool, apotheosis at 4 might prevent the usual reno scenario a little later, and while Im not exactly very happy to see scorpid nerfed this card is a near guaranteed addition into anything that's not pure aggro its amazing. Nerfing its health to 2 might make it harder as an auto include while making it easier to clear so its not always the best thing to do on 3.
As for druid, well. One card can't fix the sorry state of the class, but if it has to be one card then its obviously going to be Lightning Bloom. Gibberling nerf would be fine, but the only reason why its a problem card is the mana cheat, not the burst gibberling bs on turn 1. Make it refresh mana instead of giving mana would change everything, removing the essential problem of the card, whether its in duels (where its funnily banned) or ranked constructed.
if make bloom refresh mana should be less overload §1 instead of 2)

Another oldie:
I am an orphan, strong in my solitude
One day I go to the Faire to see the big attraction
What is this? I am his equal in stature
But he is no orphan, and what's more he gets all of the attention
So I leave the Faire and return to my solitude

Two New Card Reveals for The Ruination Event - New Targon and Piltover & Zaun Followers
I am still not sold on supporters.
The core issue remains for supporters to rely on other cards and being terrible on their own.
Also support decks first need to develop a board before they get agency.
This gameplan can work in theory but doesn't in practice most of the time especially if the opponent has removal for the units you want to support.
This minion can be very strong but I simply can't see it actually making support viable.

New Meta Changes Pre Ruination
https://lor.mobalytics.gg/meta-tier-list
Big changes here:
1. Zed Sivir being listed as S tier with a 53% winrate, more likely finding its longterm home in A tier
2.Turbo thralls is going down to A tier even though it's numbers are largely the same
3. Azir Irelia is listed in S again, but its numbers aren't doing any better so no idea what's up with that
4. Poros dropping a ton of tiers, it was trash and just because swim could literally win with any meme deck he chooses doesnt mean it was good.
Increasingly, I find the tier lists to be governed by the whims of the editors instead of quantitative data.
Last time I mentioned a ton of decks with a 55% winrate that go ignored, like deep, or Swain Tf or J4 barriers.
If you go into card stats you get an even clearer picture of performance.
Want to know what cards have the highest winrate? Literally every single one in pirate aggro.
Now do I think the deck should be tweaked, probably not this meta is still fun and fresh.
And I think this is the best part of the shurima expansion so far.
