  • A History of Recent BlizzCon Opening Ceremonies

I'd be wiling to bet more on Tournament mode than 2v2, simply because I'm not really sure they can make 2v2 work. How would they do that, a BG lobby where you take turns fighting opponents? What would the UI look like? How would cards where your opponent must 'guess the one you picked to receive a copy' work?

Overall though, it seems more likely to be something like an adventure. They ain't doing Mercenaries anymore, so all these 'adventurous' ideas have to go somewhere, right?

Oh yeah, BlizzCon 2015 was S-tier. For the folks reading this that didn't play Hearthstone back then, Golden Monkey was a pretty wild effect compared to everything else we'd gotten up until that point.

I, too, was super hyped by the Legion trailer, especially after the "lore black hole" that Warlords of Draenor was. We fight the Legion, and we get CGI Varian & Sylvanas? Legion ended up being my most played expansion (bar Dragonflight right now), and I'd credit half of that to the vibe the Legion trailer oozed.

Hah, that section was the last one I made changes to, and it seems my last change was a temporal bamboozle :D good catch, fixed

I appreciate your post because it has a lot of good information Suika game that I can absorb and learn.

Very a great article. I have read many articles but this is the most informative slope and useful one for me.

I'd say my best Blizzcon experience was 2015, to a point where I even bought the poster and still have it on my wall. I remember very vividly going crazy when Brode showed us the Golden Monkey. Also Heroes of the Storm released that same year and was blown away by the WoW Legion expansion announcement that I pre-ordered instantly. (Also it had a lot to do with the D3 wings apart of the Deluxe edition 😅)

  • Should Hearthstone's Heroes Have More Than 30 Health?

This is an important addendum in my books, because I initially wanted to reply that (kinda) frequent Health / armor changes would ruin the economy. The game is expensive as it is, I want to be able to judge what is powerful and what isn't without fearing for my money, gold and dust investments to blow up every other week.

Tweaking Health / armor instead of nerfs and buffs might work though. I would be an interesting thing to try out at least.

But all in all, I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the current state of the game. I can play hyper aggro that kills turn 4, I can play OTK that requires some thinking and closes out games around turn 7 and I can go for giga control - all of that is possible in Wild with Shadow Priest, Ilgynoth DH, Renolock / Even Warrior. I don't know what level you're playing at, but from what I've heard from friends and judging by my own experiences, you can enjoy almost whatever archetype you wish on ladder as long as you don't step into 11x spheres.

Heart of the Swarm, Starcraft II's first expansion was already revealed and set to launch early 2023.

While I'd be very happy for another SC2 expansion this year, unfortunately that typo is 10 years into the future 😅

Time zones being a thing prevent me from watching Blizzcon, but that made reading this article all the more interesting - thank you for that! I'll be excited to wake up Saturday morning and see what they've cooked up for Hearthstone.

On a side note, they've mentioned you'd be able to play a demo of something new for Hearthstone at Blizzcon. I wonder what that might be... Tournament mode? 2vs2? Something else entirely?

  • New Druid Spell - Rehydrate

I would hate to draw this and be at full Health or only be down by like 2 or 3. Still, I suppose I would suck it up and spend the 2 Mana if it meant staying alive another turn.

  • New Druid Spell - Take to the Skies

I think this card pretty much exists for if you somehow aren't fulfilling "If you are holding a Dragon". Really nice if it draws Dragon Golem, since a board full of 4/5s is a lot better than a board full of 3/4s. And it draws another dragon to get you close to fulfilling that dream of actually filling the board.

  • New Druid Minion - Spinetail Drake

A pretty solid removal option I would say, since I don't think you'll have any trouble satisfying the condition most of the time.

  • New Druid Spell - Cactus Construct

Well, it gives you something to do for turn 1 and turn 2, so it might help when you find yourself in a situation where you don't have anything better to do for either of those turns. I'm not sure how often that will be the case though.

  • New Druid Minion - Splish-Splash Whelp

So a 2/1 plus Wild Growth for the very easy condition of holding a dragon, all for 2 Mana. Sounds good to me.

  • New Mage Spell - Sunset Volley

Barbaric Sorceress is still in standard.

Sadly, when you look at the pool of big spells mage has in standard you'll likely be struggling to fill those positions, not to mention that building a mage deck with few spells is not exactly easy.

So on its own then? Well, its not good. 10 mana cards need to either end games, prevent your opponent from ending games, or presents an effect that gives you an advantage for the rest of the game. This card does neither of those well, and certainly not consistently. Might be better just playing astalor, its practically the same thing except more flexible.

  • New Mage Spell - Stargazing

Probably not that great. Its main application is to tutor out specific arcane spells, but in a collection filled with arcane spells, it'll have its work cut out for it.

Not to mention that most secrets tend to be arcane, plus the ubiquitous Arcane Intellect. I cant think of many arcane spells that you'd want to draw with this card to be honest. Arcane Intellect and Volume Up are not cards you want to double up on and yet both are usually found in most mage decks.

  • New Mage Spell - Heat Wave

Mage never need shit like these.

But Id concede that its fairly meta dependent whether it sees any play. Combustion saw play because it was one of the few cheap AoE cards available that does the job fine. This card isnt as good as that, but it'll do the cheap AoE bit at least.

Still, you'd get this off discovers 99% of the time. Id be surprised if it were placed purposefully into decks.

  • New Mage Spell - Azerite Vein

Its the sort of card that'll never realistically be placed into a deck.

As a secret its kinda shit, comparable to Mana Bind, a card that didnt see any play when it was introduced and is seeing only niche plays right now in wild, mostly meme. The main problem of this card is that it neither prevents nor does it consistently give you anything good. So its kinda like youve just played a 3 mana card to generate a random card from your opponent's deck, and your opponent gets to decide whether or not you get it.

Oh well, with so many OP secrets from mage, at least we get to see the occasional shitty one. So stand up Azerite Vein.

  • New Druid Minion - Desert Nestmatron

This is pretty much a free card that can't be played before turn 4, since I think it's going to be very rare you will have this card and not be holding a dragon. That is, turn 4 unless you have a copy or two of Innervate and/or coin.

  • New Druid Spell - Dragon Tales

I would think you're mostly playing this to discount Fye, the Setting Sun or to make Dragon Golem summon more copies, so I'm not sure when you would even choose the more then 5 option.

  • New Druid Minion - Dragon Golem

I wonder how hard it will be to summon seven copies of this at once. Without filling your deck with shit minions just because they are dragons. If I recall, Druid has jack shit for handbuffs, but at least Lor'themar Theron is neutral.

  • New Druid Minion - Rheastrasza

Well, this ought to make it easy to play Fye, the Setting Sun for free. Though since this an 8-Cost card, hopefully you're pretty close already, though that depends on how well highlander dragon works. I'm not entirely certain getting one cheap dragon per turn in the late game won't be too slow though.

  • New Druid Minion - Fye, the Setting Sun

This might be good. It depends on how many good dragons are available of course, since I don't think I'd want to play it for anything more than 4 Mana.

  • A History of Recent BlizzCon Opening Ceremonies

Yeah, the marketing wasn't really clear about that at all. They did label it "early access" in the release date trailer, but that term was never mentioned again in any other promotional material (or elsewhere) afterwards. I guess you could call season 6 the offical launch with how much it added to the game, but that update was never called "full launch" or something like that from any offical source as far as I know.

  • New Mage Spell - Stargazing

Pretty good card overall. Inexpensive, tutors a spell, and maybe double it. Too bad there are no Arcane spells with Quickdraw, which would make this card really shine.
