hey man i dont give a damn if no one else wants to play it outcast dh is still one of my favorite decks and sharpshooter is gonna bring a whole new level of execution to dh tempo decks that i am 100 percent drooling over
It's not that you're wrong. You're not. The game simply lacks a clear design path. It's all over the place.
They removed the old control type because teenagers are too stupid to think for more than 3 seconds, thus leading to turn 4-6 kills.
Then they reintroduced an idea of control that is more keen to what you said. Other times, the ladder was 80% hyper aggro and early otks. Remember, face hunter will never be a bad deck :) never was, either.
So, you are right. Yet i'm also right with this being an arcade fiasco. Haven't even touched the lack of interaction between players.
It's like they stopped doing adventures and needed a way to compensate, thus making HS mostly single player. Funny...
Their design is really all over the place. Mostly rehashed ideas too. Assigning a keyword to already existing mechanics is not novelty, nor proper design.
They really need new designers there. Or simply to fire those that aren't letting the current ones do something right. No idea what's going on there, but it's being done for years.
I suppose the effectiveness of CGI, no-gameplay trailer depends on why you play - or why you'd play - said game. Similarly to you, Overwatch's pixar-tier shorts leave me cold, even though I hear the gameplay is pretty fun (never played it).
Here's how it works for me:
I got into Warcraft as a whole with Warcraft II, because of its gameplay and story, and the visual art style appealed to me as a child.
I continued into Warcraft III because of its gameplay and story.
I then continued into World of Warcraft just because of its story.
I'm not really a fan of the aesthetic of WoW as a whole. There's some cool set pieces, but overall it's a little more cartoonish than what WC2's game manual sold me eons ago. WoW's gameplay was, funnily enough, sort of forced on me because Blizzard just wouldn't do more RTS but I was still invested in the story. I'm fine with WoW's gameplay, whatever, it's sometimes fun, sometimes not.
Basically, where I'm getting at is the Legion trailer worked for me because I'm not playing WoW for its gameplay or visuals, but its story. Legion's trailer had:
Good characters (at that point in time) that we'd only seen as shite in-game graphics.
A more serious, gritty vibe that WoW seldom applies. WoW trailers are usually more action-packed and one-liner-generating, but Legion just hit different.
No stupid dead orcs for an expansion that was released just to promote a bad movie. No big bad red dragons that were retconned back to life.
So, yeah, Legion's trailer did it for me. It had enough positives for me to ignore the last 20 seconds of cringe where Varian says "for azeroth" like it was something he'd been saying all the time, and that "demon swings axe at camera to signal cinematic ending" tired-ass trope Blizzard's been using since forever.
I'm not too clear on the "Switch" part. Is this like Spitelash Siren, so it will change to "After you play a spell, deal 2 damage and draw a naga"? I guess it might facilitate some kind of APM Demon Hunter where you draw and play a ton of cards in one turn, and strike the face for a lot. Hard to see that being lethal, though.
It's a new wave of tribal support, for a class that didn't have amazing Naga support previously even though thematically they should've.
People get so fucking weird about Demon Hunter. I swear, every time Blizzard does literally anything with the class, they're suddenly "out of ideas". Like, was the Elemental support that Shaman got "Un'Goro 2"? Was the Dragon package in Druid "DoD 2"? Seriously, what the fuck?
How big is the Naga pool right now? The smaller the better in order for this card to get you something you really want. But how many of those Naga are worth looking for? This card could be just ok.
Meh. I mean, I guess it's technically "free" since it costs 3 mana and gives you 3 discounts of 1 mana each. And it's nice that those discounts can carry over into future turns. But it's also just dealing 2 damage.

Oh dear, they've completely lost inspiration for demon hunter. Even if those cards are good I feel like people just aren't gonna play yet another Naga deck with the boring Fel/weapon/attack synergy. Just like people weren't playing outcast demon hunter even tho it was good.
I've been dealing with 6 different primary timezones for the past 15 years on a regular basis. I can't give these sites any sort of break for it. Blizzard in the past gave me times in their timezone and in UTC which eliminates timezone issues if they can think ahead a few days. Poor planning by publishers.
I'd love to get back into HoTS coz I never really ever had a bad experience with that game, only just having to nag my friends to play then getting trolled coz Dota 2/LoL are better games...
That's interesting because for me it works the other way round... I constantly wonder how games like Diablo and WoW can be sold via these super awesome cinematics that bear absolutely no resemblance at all with the actual gameplay. I wouldn't even be surprised if people had tried to file lawsuits because of "false advertisement" or whatever it is called in legal speech. I mean I get it, you want to show some cool stuff that makes people buy the games, but come on! Compare a Horizon trailer and the corresponding gameplay with a Diablo trailer and its gameplay. That's bonkers! But then again, I've never played WoW or Diablo and that's why I can't wrap my head around its advertisement strategy :D

I can see this being used for a lot of burst damage since you can discount it with Load the Chamber. It's still just ok, though.
