Plus one star for the great wordplay. This one will be an interesting fin-isher. Do you run a hybrid totem murloc deck? Pure murlocs with the quest in wild might be fun.
It feels like it should be good, but there have been other effects similar to this one that didn't get played. Mistcaller was similar (same mana cost?) and wasn't really viable. I hope this one doesn't make the cut.
I already am tired of the constant healing available to paladins, this will just make it even more spammy and hard to overcome. Looks like Libram Paladin isn't going anywhere.
I don't recall them revealing the cards "Hog Rancher" and "Burning Blade Acolyte", which appears to be some sort of miscommunication issue, as there's also a "Golden [TO BE REVEALED] (Uncraftable Rare)" in the rewards track.
Cost reduction is always good. This will get one attack in, but doesn't really have the durability to go past that. So, how many spells do you need to have in hand to make it worth. There will obviously be emergencies that require playing with nothing in hand to benefit, but what should your goal be? Just one feels bad. Is two the baseline? Three is definitely worth it.
I'm going back and forth on what I think this might accomplish. It feels like each rank is just underpowered for when it is available, but on the other hand, if it were bumped up by one each rank I think it would be overpowered. I guess we will just have to see how it plays out.
Yeah, I considered that too which is why I think it's not an objectively bad design, just kind of disappointing. Hopefully they'll add more nonbinary characters instead of just making this one and calling it a day. Maybe I'm too cynical, but the design seems like all the potential subversiveness has been sanded off to avoid controversy (just like how some old HS art was replaced to make censors happy). Also, "elf in mage robes" has been done so many times that I think they could have used the nonbinary aspect to make it slightly more interesting, without necessarily having it be the main feature.
I'd say this might be surprisingly better than expected on control Warlock. Sure, the deal 6 to a minion with Lifesteal sounds pretty big, but attrition match-ups don't care about HP that much, so the battlecry effect will basically be "destroy a mid-size minion on turn 12" or something of the sort.
The reason why I can see control Warlocks adding Blood Shard Bristleback to their decks is the fact that Blood Shard Bristleback is a 3/3 Lifesteal for 3, which means he'll come into the board in the early game to contest the opponent's early plays and try to delay aggro decks before you can stabilize. He might not succeed in that task (the statline is still vulnerable to value trading from lower cost minions), but I can see him being tried, maybe in a deck that also includes Man'ari Mosher as another early game anti aggro tool.
Ah poop, more Freeze for Mage ;-; At least it's in a much more limited form. Being tied to a minion is also important since there are fewer sources of Discover/random generation effects that can clutch it out.
The combination of effects in one card for such a small price is insane. The only good news in the middle of this is that, since Varden Dawngrasp is legendary, there won't be many instances of multiple copies being played for extra stall power. And lets not forget that mage has two possible control based win conditions: Mordresh Fire Eye, yet another card that does too much at the same time (although he actually has a requirement for that effect) and C'Thun, the Shattered, who is a pretty good win condition in his own right (just because the current meta is volatile towards atrition based win conditions, it doesn't mean the Barrens meta won't be).
That's not true: they doubled the levels but halved the experience required, so it'll take EXACTLY the same amount of time to reach the 50 gold per level part.
A four mana Frost Nova with a body and synergizes with Flurry (Rank 1) for a cheap former Flamestrike level of removal. Needless to say, the AoE freeze is a proven effect in Mage, so I definitely see this being competitive across multiple Mage decks, and even possibly so in more aggressive Mages thanks to the efficient body on Varden Dawngrasp.

New Warlock Minion - Blood Shard Bristleback
I'm sure there are some brave warlock players out there who will make the most of this reckless card lol.

Just add Desperate Prayer.

spellburst only works the first time a spell is played, this can work millions of times.
New Druid Spell - Mark of the Spikeshell
This will probably be a pretty good card. And that tortollan looks like it is up to something.
New Mage Spell - Flurry (Rank 1)
This will be an excellent card especially with the new mage legendary.

This card seems like it is better at the lowest rank, rather than the two higher ranks.

I would say this is better than Vulpera Scoundrel as it can deal with something afterwards unlike Vulpera.

Good. Hopefully not consistent enough that freeze becomes oppressive.
