If you are interested in a new(ish) formula for strategy games you should check out Great War: Western Front. I really enjoyed it and I found the swap between tile based strategy to real time tactical command was really rewarding.
Thanks, it looks interesting i have to say. Haven't really played WW1 games (due to lack of tanks :D ), but i'll really consider it. At least i found some steam keys at 13euros.
How's the replayability? Or is it a one hit wonder?
There's no way they're going to announce the expansion at Blizzcon. Tavern pass for the current expansion expires on 13th November and that always means that the expansion releases the next day which matches with Tuesday. If they announce it at Blizzcon it means they'll only have 9 days to reveal 145 cards and probably less than that because the patch needs to happen at least 5 days before the launch as it usually does. For the Titans it patched a whole week before the launch.
My guess is that they'll announce the expansion tomorrow and at blizzcon we'll either get the final reveal or they will announce the new single player content hence the demo site on Blizzcon.

Having fun with Charrua Soccer for a while. Still sad about having a burnout on strategy games after leaving JA3 and Baldur's gate unfinished. Thinking about Starfield but i'm afraid it's gonna be a (repetitive) disappointment like No man's sky was.
I have started playing a lot more Crusader Kings 3 and Victoria 3 here recently. I have a ton of single player games I should play, but due to school I find I rather spend my time playing other games with a more multi-player focus to them.

It'll likely get patched up, but from the very same source, plenty of others are claiming to have better performance with a few tweaks to the settings.
And probably need to download the newest nvidia patch, supposedly helps.
Note that progression and galaxy events are scripted, but AI empires react based on things that happened inside the game. For example, I put a lot of resources in making friends with the Klingons and now we're in a defensive pact. That is not hard-coded to happen, but a result of getting every single opinion bonus that I could. My plan is that this deters the Cardassians from attacking me until I can out-class them on the tech and economics front.
Lords of the Fallen looks interesting, but the Steam reviews say the PC port is in a very bad shape, so better wait for a while before considering buying it.
Sad to hear it's mostly scripted. Might be a deal breaker for me.
I don't mind so much, because it feels like a necessary trade-off to make the lore work. For example, if you couldn't get the Enterprise in every game as the Federation, that would add more variation between games, but it would also make the games where you cannot get it just less fun. If I want to play a game where I'm going in completely dark about what might exist in the galaxy, I can just play Stellaris instead.
There are enough choices to be made that I think you can have at least two very different play-throughs per faction and that is likely going to add up to about 200 hours, so by then there will probably be mods and DLC to add some more variation.
The locations of the four major factions are fixed and revealed at game start, but the rest of the map is randomized, so exploring the galaxy will be different each game.

RollerCoaster Tycoon: An Iconic Park Builder and Technological Marvel - A Timely Review
Thank you so much for reading my piece. I'm with you on Zoo Tycoon. Steam absolutely needs to get it and I'm hoping it does at some point.
RollerCoaster Tycoon: An Iconic Park Builder and Technological Marvel - A Timely Review
This was an amazing read! Thanks for all the work you put into it :)
This game really marked my childhood and was just too amazing for its time
Also you mentioned Zoo Tycoon and that made me wonder why is it not on steam. Still hoping for a steam release for it too.

Very nice! You'll have to think of a suitable prize to give the first stranger who recognizes it.
