FWIW - VS started doing Wild meta-reports when Un'Goro launched. Quest Rogue wasn't viable in Wild pre-nerf (it placed only 24th-best on the VS report), and disappeared completely after the nerf. Its game-plan of "do nothing but bounce, then suddenly win" left it vulnerable to aggro decks. Needless to say, the pace of aggro hasn't slowed down in the past four years, so my guess is the card is fine in Wild.
Some folks continued playing Deathwing Rogue after the nerf to Apothecary - the deck has consistently posted a win-rate between 46-47% on HSReplays, and around 43% on VS. In order for either "new-ish" Rogue deck to see play, it's a safe bet that they will have to perform better on ladder than either Kingsbane or Odd Rogue, both of which have win-rates around 53%. My guess is that neither deck will make the cut - aggro finds a way.
Love this card. Love priest but not what it's become with Raza or Res in wild. At least I can add PW: S to my Dragon deck which might not be a high tier deck but, well, dragons.....
Also nobody talks about Call to Arms? It's the most worrying one IMO. Call to Arms while not as effective, still feels very powerful at 5. It has the potential to create a tier one deck at 4.
I honestly think they knew what they were doing when they unnerved The Caverns Below for the same reason they unnerfed Raza the Chained, which is they are prevailing archetypes that a lot of people loved playing. Alec did state that he doesn't like nerfing wild cards because he wants wild to be a place where people can just play cards the way they were. So even if somewhat worrying, balance is not their main focus.
Hmmm... The fact that Southsea Captain remains might hint towards some more pirate cards printed this year? Probably for rogue if i had to guess. Warrior already got the additional pirate stuff last year. Actually the only pirate card rogue got in the last 2 years was Bloodsail Flybooter! Last time Rogue had a pirate package was in Rastahkan's Rumble like 2.5 ish years ago... wow i'm feeling old suddenly...
Hench-Clan Burglar, Sahket Sapper, Skyvateer and Prize Plunderer were all pirates from the last two years. The Year of the Phoenix was very light on pirate cards though, so I expect you are right and we'll see more of a pirate focus at some point this year.
Whoops, forgot to sort on Tribe instead of text... My bad! But yeh Rogue is very light on pirates, especially after rotation.
I mean, they haven't nerfed Raza the Chained despite it being the focal point of Wild since being reverted, so I'm not optimistic of Team 5 reverting the revert to The Caverns Below. I think this will boil down to how consistently early the quest can be completed as the weakness to the quest when it was in standard was aggression, which is in top form in Wild. Then again, Pen Flinger completes the quest by itself, but you also don't have charging Stonetusk Boars anymore. This could easily go either way in my eyes.
For the downvotes I'm receiving, can any Rogue Quest defenders point to another card in Hearthstone that functions like Crystal Core with its persistent aura effect? Can anyone make an argument for why a card like this is healthy for the game? It's a zoo deck with a massive advantage over any zoo deck you could possibly construct in another class. My memory is hazy, but I'm pretty sure the only reason Caverns Below didn't dominate Wild in the past is because Naga Sea Witch was still 5-mana. This unnerf is a mistake, and I predict that it'll be changed again.
I for one accepts quest rogue back to its full power. It's been a while since I see that deck in action and it should be fun (at least for the first week).
I am sorry, but you can't just say "the pack opening system is broken. I can't prove it, but trust me. I know I've opened more than 40 packs because I feel like I have" and expect people to actually believe you.
It is far more likely that you are misremembering or miscounting. The human mind is a fickle thing, computers? Not so much.
Why the hell are they buffing Caverns Below? And Necrium Apothecary has the same problem as always, it's a damn stupid highroll deck that can create a like 40/40 of stats on turn 4 (turn 3: equip and swing with Necrium Blade, next turn Coin or Counterfeit Coin into this, pulling Deathwing, Dragonlord and a full board of dumb dragons, with OG Nozdormu for good measure.
It is, but we can pre-download the update a few days early to have the fireside gathering pre-release. Say the 20.0 update comes out on a thursday, but the expansion drops the next tuesday. Then the nerf reverts are playable from that thursday, but the new expansion is playable from tuesday
Yes, I'm talking about DF packs since the only packs I open are from Arena. There's no way I can convince you guys but I'm certain of it.
On a separate note I would really like it if whenever you spend money on this game they increased the rate of opening premium cards for that expansion. It's such a bad dealing paying $80 for like 4 legendaries (and chances are only one is playable...)
Unnerfing crystal core is a bold move, one that I hope will not backfire. I suppose the idea is that the wild meta is so much more about aggro and combo that it really doesn't matter even if crystal core was back. Since Stonetusk Boar has been nerfed for good measure, that's practically only Southsea Deckhand that can really do damage.
You'd be surprised. Computers make mistakes and there's always exceptions. I've opened a few more packs since posting this, still no L.
Computers don't make mistakes unless they're malfunctioning. I've seen weird errors happen where only 1 byte of a file is corrupt or only 1 section at the end of a ram stick is bad, and weird inconsistencies start to happen, but generally you'll get a crash or failure to boot/run before anything.
Now, the humans that program computers... They make mistakes... A lot of mistakes... It's why bugs and glitches still exist...

They will reveal Shaman/Warlock/Warrior tomorrow for sure. But they may reveal the Neutral unnerfs on Thursday and then begin the reveal season next Tuesday in order to make the reveal season last 1 week (if it releases on 23rd, that I'm starting to doubt it).
It says we'll get it on 20.0 patch. Which means, it would only be after all cards get revealed (as that update will contain Barrens cards). I doubt they will be revealed at the end of this week or beginning of next week? Unless...

I do agree with that, although some of them may fit into current Year's archetypes which would then make Quests come back.
For, now, my proposition in that case would be:
Warrior, Shaman, Paladin, Warlock, Priest - Un'Goro Quests
Rogue, Hunter, Druid, Mage - Uldum Quests
Demon Hunter - Anything new Team 5 would come up with lol

Same feeling, I mean the unnerfs are cool and all but I think most people did not have a good time in those matchups.
Maybe if it ends up appearing a lot again it'll get nerfed again, and if it isn't, it'll mean it won't be such a pain so it's fine either way I guess.
