They don't use reddit as a single point of community sentiment.
They have stated in the past they read feedback across many platforms and use that alongside data to make changes. Data is still going to be the biggest part of that equation though. With that said though, why don't people below Diamon 5 matter as much? The game is not only ultra-competitive, people play it at all kinds of ranks. Sometimes, there might be some stuff that ultra stomps the low-end of the ladder but not the high-end, does that not deserve balancing?
I trust the Hearthstone team to make the right balance choices. As much as I've disagreed with many of their choices over the years, I don't believe they've done a particularly bad job at it, and, it's not like we really have another option. There are more card games out there that are just as fun and I'll play those if they start making bad decisions :D
I always thought that this was pretty meh. If there was a way to scale the 1/1's in one way or another with different stats to validate the "common" rating, then this could see more play

For all the things that get said about these cards, they usually still have a basis in Arena. I wonder if that is a driving reason why they remained in the COre set?

pretty sure he's just being imprecise with his statement. I interpret it as "If everyone fucking hates this deck there's probably a good reason to change it."
For instance, Lifesteal OTK Demon Hunter is a fairly weak deck winrate wise, but it's an absolute snoozefest to play against (by virtue of being a typical single player cycle-until-victory deck), so in that sense if everyone is saying "fuck this deck" it probably needs changes.
Either way, anything below actual High Legend is virtually the same. Everyone can get to Legend, it's just a matter of time. Meanwhile, the top legend meta is drastically different most of the time so just balancing around that leaves 99% of the playerbase unhappy, so I don#t see why the lower ranks shouldn't have a voice too.
With some of the support that Priest has, I'd like to see the ability to really utilize this. But I think even with the buff that it is still only going to be a meme guy

New Neutral Minion - Chillwind Yeti
Yep, nothing more to add :
New Neutral Minion - Dark Iron Dwarf
If they lowered the stat line a little and made it a permanent buff, I could see it being more viable

Such a monster in Arena... which is why he still remains here I guess

New Neutral Minion - Sleepy Dragon
Still pretty good for arena - standard not so sure.
Could work in standard if theres a mechanic where you can cheat him out or maybe discount him.
New Neutral Minion - Grim Necromancer

New Neutral Minion - Stranglethorn Tiger
unfortunately Twillight Runner isn't a Hunter card
New Paladin Minion - Warhorse Trainer
Well the Stats alone are pretty good on that one!
I guess Dude Paladin will have a comeback to standard!

New Paladin Spell - Noble Sacrifice
Just to confuse in the secret pool I guess.
New Paladin Spell - Avenge
One of the best secrets ever, time to not kill anything again.
New Paladin Minion - Warhorse Trainer
Yeah like, what are all this buffs for odd pala
New Paladin Spell - Consecration
With Wild Pyromancer out this is the best support for Equality right now.
New Neutral Minion - Stormwind Champion
Big boy to help the little guys out. I can see a dude paladin running him with the support that it has as a late game helper

New Paladin Minion - Aldor Peacekeeper
Nice for core set, will depend on how much midrange pala faces big threats
New Neutral Minion - Stormwatcher
It's solid enough to stay around, but there really needs to be a standard way to reduce the costs of elementals
New Hunter Spell - Arcane Shot
It's cheap and can be used aside Lock and Load at least.
