  • New Druid Minion - Nordrassil Druid

    With Landscaping, it's 3/5 + 2/2 + 2/2 on turn 3 or 4. That is a LOT of pressure.

It also lets you Corrupt Moontouched Amulet and play it the same turn.

  • Alexstrasza, Nozdormu, and Onyxia All Received Remakes - How Well Will They Do?

I really want Onyxia to be good.

  • New Noxus Spell - Strength in Numbers

This card looks like it can make noxus great again ...in expeditions

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Kor'vas Bloodthorn

very, very soft synergy with Illgynoth, but almost too expensive as a finisher. What i notice is that you need to play an outcast card, not an outcast card with it's outcast effect, to bounce it back into your hand.

who knows, maybe she can find a home in aggressive lists that discount their outcast cards with Skull of Gul'dan and Illdari Studies

  • New Ionia Card - Field Musicians

This card is the definition of a heimerdinger rating: baseline is bad but in the right (ephemeral? ) deck this is really strong (since it's free mana/carddraw every round)

  • New Ionia Card - Shadow Apprentice

Is is an quite insane 1drop. Like a 1 mana 2/2 elusive (in the right deck) is really dangerous...

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Chaos Nova

Someone remind me what the weaknesses of Demon Hunter were supposed to be ... feels like this pretty much sews up the "board clear" gap.

  • New Paladin Minion - Guardian of Kings

One word takes the card from unplayable to great!

It's now more generally useful than Commencement, so only Lady Liadrin competes for the slot until we see a 7-drop from Barrens. It's hard to imagine Paladin not running Librams (and therefore Liadrin), but that leaves room for at least one of these guys.

  • New Demacia Card - Dragon Chow

So...its a 1 mana blocker that can give +1/+1 and draw cycle? I mean its fine. I don't think this is what will fix Shyvana though.

  • New Ionia Card - Field Musicians

Seems awkward at the best of times. Not sure how good it will be given that it encourages having both a lot of units and a lot of uses for spell mana. It seems a bit too awkward to equal out but maybe some broken combo exists that I don't have in mind.

  • New Bilgewater Spell - Lost Riches

Seems a little too pricey, though honestly given that treasures almost win the game on their own, I'd be fine with this never seeing play.

  • 17 New Cards Revealed for Runeterra's Empires of the Ascended Expansion - Multiple Regions!

A lot of cool designs! PETA will get triggered over Dragon Chow.

  • New Bilgewater Spell - Loaded Dice

I'm glad that this card is garbage. Nab is not a pleasant mechanic and seeing it at all bothers me a bit.

  • New Freljord Spell - Ancestral Boon

Always into Enlightened effects. Not many of them and this even works well with Karma since she will cast it twice. I doubt it will be an insanely powerful deck but I find the idea interesting none the less.

  • New Freljord Spell - Spoils of War

A buff with plunder in freljord?

Riot devs really wanted to troll freljord once again right?

Like... you don't use buffs after combat and you have only very little means to trigger plunder outside of combat in freljord and even burn spells usually are fast so that you can't trigger Plunder at burst speed other than with Warning Shot. Which makes this a pseudo bilgewater card...

  • Lee Sin's Dragon Rage Party

Honestly, no. The lack of Targon support will make it hard. I'm thinking about getting rid of Golden Aegis since Cataclysm will allow you to Dragon's Rage multiple times a turn. Especially if you have Jarvan leveled and get one every turn. I might consider adding another Sonic Wave(gives 2 spell triggers for Lee Sin) and another unit to help Jarvan's level up.

  • New Demacia Card - Towering Stonehorn

Not sure if it is strong, but I'm super into this effect. I like it a lot.

  • Kindred Champion Reveal and New Shadow Isles Cards for Runeterra's Empires of the Ascended Expansion

No. The first slaying each round is a 2-for-1, and your opponent has ways to play around that.

  • 17 New Cards Revealed for Runeterra's Empires of the Ascended Expansion - Multiple Regions!

Wow I like that Towering Stonehorn as just a solid 6 drop. Not sure if it will see use but its a really interesting card.

That Buff Priest you are talking about was great because it had finishers. It had Cleric and PW:Shield that let you draw a lot of cards while winning tempo and the most important part: Divine Spirit + Inner Fire. That combo let you finish the game in one turn. Right now priest has no finisher in order to win the game. If they clean your board, you are out of the game.

I agree with you, but my point is that it was a really good Tempo Priest deck (a thing you claimed would never be a thing), and that a lot of the same pieces that made it effective exist in different forms today. It probably needs one or two more big plays and a little more card draw, but it's close to what it needs. For instance, it's possible that Shadowform will be the thing that makes it work. That's easy to scoff at, but Midrange Hunter (a perennially successful archetype) achieves success by whittling down the opponent with their hero power while managing tempo. Priest will be able to tutor Shadowform and buffs, both of which that kind of deck will want.

  • New Bilgewater Spell - Loaded Dice

The fact that is slow speed, pricy and needs setup for a mediocre benefit makes this card a "worthy" LoR mythic I think...

  • New Targon Landmark - Startipped Peak

I don't think a card like this will make it into constructed.

You don't develop a board by playing this, you have no control over the cards invoked, you can't even profit that well from the cards you get later in the game...

  • New Neutral Minion - Overlord Runthak

Maybe with removing a minion and buffing once is enough, but I get what you mean. I used to play Grimestreet Enforcer even in non handbuff decks, just because I liked it so much.

  • New Targon Spell - Destiny's Call

Hey there timmy, I found a card for you

Libram Paladin has a lot of cards with strong synergies with Libram cards and broken cards for this deck like Lady Liadrin (mega refill) or Barov. It's not even comparable. Priest has no synergies at all. Blizzard knows that Tempo priest will never be a thing, they know it, but still gives tempo cards to them without giving it draw. It's like they want Priest to be bad on purpose. I'm getting tired of this.

Tempo Priest has been a great deck before, so this idea that Blizzard is just pushing a junk archetype rings false to me. Back when the Boomsday Buffs came through (Summer 2019, I think), Buff Priest was hugely effective. (Here's a video from Kibler about the deck from July 2019.) The deck was so powerful they had to un-buff Extra Arms.

You're right that tempo decks rely on synergies, and that was true for the Buff Priest too (e.g. Grave Horror's synergy with cheap buffs), and they need decent card draw/resource generation. The landscape has changed, but there are some corollaries that suggest this could be a real deck in Year of the Gryphon. Crimson Clergy replaces Northshire Cleric, Voracious Reader replaces Acolyte of Pain, Power Word: Feast replaces Extra Arms, the Grave Horror spell synergies see some replacement with the self harm tempo package (Raise Dead, Brittlebone Destroyer, Flesh Giant, and Soulbound Ashtongue).

It doesn't look exactly the same as Boomsday's Buff Priest, and it doesn't look exactly like Libram Paladin, but there are a lot of good building blocks here, and it wouldn't take much more content to push this archetype over the edge.
