  • 7 More Darkmoon Faire Mini Set Card Reveals - Cheap Hero Powers, Mana, Overloads, Spell Damage, and Discover!

I’m assuming no Choose synergies for Guidance? It would have been a nice little bonus for quest druid to get both cards without overload.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

I'm okay with the fact that seeing an orange border before flipping a card is an awesome sensation, I don't want to miss it. Anyway is kind frustating getting a Shu'ma or Octosari from your just opened pack and being unable to take any immediate benefit of it. I bought last expansion and from about 60 cards I got 4 legendaries pretty useless in my collection. Having the lucky of getting 4 cards from packs and just being able to change them into 1 from what I trully take some benefit for is the point where I'm a little bit more disappointed about the current system.

I have to say, in the other hand, that Scholomance brings to us a something "fair" regarding legendary cards where you have high chances to use the legendary card you got in two classes so getting a legendary is not as frustrating as it use to be. That makes me think about maybe what HS needs is more neutral legendaries in order to make them more versatile in more decks and just having a "little bit more powerful" one specific for each class. This way having a legendary is, most of the time, a good excuse for trying other classes.

edit: I'm not saying Shu'ma or Octosari are awful cards (we can discuss about it) but for sure they are intended to be in very specific archetypes of decks and, most of the time, part of meme decks.

Dean is saying wild is meant to be broken in order for players to be able to play their old decks, not act as a standard mode with more cards where they'd prioritize balance.

Yeah but as other users have pointed out, that argument makes no sense.

I can't enjoy even paladin in wild because I'll get shafted non-stop by the three main culprits: darkglare, secret and razakus.

Additionally, he himself has said that their data showed that big priest was played by the same players, even after they nerfed Barnes. Which further advocates nerfing the top dogs because the people who actually enjoy playing secret mage (if those exist) would then still play it after it's nerfed.

Even paladin is also weka becuase call to arms sint 4mana anymore. Even paladin was absicly call toa rms

Damn, this is not the answer I wanted to hear for wild. They could easily nerf the outright broken decks that have a way to high winrate. (Secret mage, raza priest and darkglare warlock). I don't see a problem with those nerfs.

IF you current 'broken ' cdekcs, the enxt broken are above other,s and the next adn the next

I don't see any Face Hunter or Secret Paladin or Keleseth Rogue or whatever old deck in current Wild meta.

Hell I don't even see Even Shaman or Jade Druid anymore.

Wild is not a nostalgia place, except for very few (lucky) decks. It cannot be ofc, so why trying to tell us this BS?

We don't even ask for a dynamic meta btw. We just ask for a NON-OPPRESSIVE one with few nearly flawless t1 decks that live in a powerlevel of their own.

I'm also sad they consider new player experience secondary in development because of their population: maybe this is exactly the CAUSE why new players are a minority in the game?!?

Well for many odld ecks, they where played Until the cards got chanegd/nerfed (usally because of standard

It's a bit difficult for me to comment on because I always knew it was there, so of course it was obvious to me, but surely you must have noticed the tabs stick around when building a deck and were thinking 'I wish I could choose a hero for this deck'?

No judgement here, I'm just curious.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

I agree the argument is somewhat flawed or biased, but he did mention that they make balance changes when "The card or deck in question has to be unfun for most of the population". Reverting ALL changes that cards got would make it more unfun for most people than it would be fun for the minority of the people looking forward to it. Secret mage is a very popular deck in wild, and it makes sense to me that more people are having fun playing it than there are people not having fun by playing against it. If fun is a priority in wild, nerfing a deck like secret mage would make less sense than keeping it fun for people that already enjoy it.

Plus, there are soo many cards in wild and it would be impossible to balance it completely without nerfing everything hard and destroying all of the fun left in it. Wild is just not meant to be a balanced experience by design.

First of all sorry about My English. I AM fighting against an autocorrected spanish keyboard On the phone.

Also upvoted Your comment as Your opinions are more than valid and Well explained

Hi! Just wanted to Say I totally agree about dust values. 3:1, 2.5:1 or 2:1 would be much healthier butI think epic and Legendary ratios are fine Now that we have the no dupes rule (I would not see a 30 pack pity timer as sth Bad for legendaries through)

Legendaries should be rare (epics too) to give players long term goals. Personally I feel getting that Legendary You really wanted, either On a pack or crafting it and playing it feels much better than Any Golden portrait and making them too common could take away from the players sense of excitement when you get one. So it can be difficult to make them much more common.

I have spent this whole year as a F2P player (RIP Character portraits I really wanted) because I wanted to experience how the Game is going for this kind of players. And right Now, I feel My collection is around the value it used to have before when I got a preorder with dupes in the mix. Also I have saved gold and packs for next expansión and miniset. Right Now I AM at 17 darkmoon packs and 6300 gold (I Will spend 2000 in the miniset in the end) . I believe I Will be able to Buy around 70 packs for next expansión (and then Buy some more until I AM satisfied with My collection). And also feel satisfied with My darkmoon collection.

To make it shorter. I think the Game is much more F2P friendly than before but a bit more could be Made about the dust system. This actions should not be overdone, or the Game would not be lucrative or rewarding  and it would just die.

most of the stats are useless, and  2 of them are even visible wihtout the  "perks", you just pay for 2 extra heroes in the selection, crappy emotes,  playing new heroes 3 or 4 weeks arealier than the rest for some reason that still scapes my understanding and the chance to get a screenshot in your crazy boards after games, thing than you can still do during the match anyway

    Beside the disappointment about Wild:

"Community feedback on wanting faster animations has lead to more considerations on what they're working on."

This is something that makes me happy. :)

HS is way to slow (animations and turn timers) and every information about a potential "speed up" are good news for me.

We see, what Dean is saying but what he is saying is BS. If they really want to make Wild "a place for old decks" they should revert ALL changes that cards got which are Wild only now. But they don`t do that which proofs for me that his "argument" is just a false excuse.

It would be sad if they would be outright honest and say "Sorry guys, Wild don`t make enough money for us to give us a reason to care more about this mode and give it regulary balance updates". But at least it wold be honest!

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

"The card or deck in question has to be unfun for most of the population."

The Wild community is crying for changes to Reno Priest, Darkglarelock and Secret Mage for months. What else does it need?

And how want Blizz to evaluate, what "most of the population" think is "unfun"?

This is how I image Blizz thinks:

"Oh about 20% of the meta is Priest? So a lot of players seem to like these decks so they are not "unfun". No need to change something about Priest."

(No, I am not really think this is how Blizz thinks, this was sarcastic...)

I think the "unfun for most of the population" is a stupid argument. "Fun" is way to subjective criteria. In my opinion Blizz should start to work with people who use "objective data" (no data is "100% objective" I know) like VS and when the data shows that a class is about 20% (or even more) of the meta they should change something! Looking at the last VS report Mage + Priest are nearly 40% of the current meta. Thats not "balanced"! EDIT: And not fun!

    • They need to be more consistent about communication. That's why Dean is trying to do community outreach each week in a Q&A.

This was a smart move by Iksar. I wished more devs did this sort of thing.

I hope that it pays him dividends for the time he's put into it.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

Iksar's exact wording was "low enough power level that it's not taking over all of Hearthstone", which is not the same thing as "low power". It's a good example of the dangers of paraphrasing, and why it's good to read the full thing.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

Exactly, what "we" want. But you have to understand  that only a really small percentage of the playerbase is using a forum. People usually refer the others as a silent majority.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

Yeah, but the argument is flawed. Darkglare is not an old deck, it has barely half a year. Reno Priest doesn't play with Lyra, Priest of the Feast and Velen+Mindblast combo, it has loads of new cards, arguably becoming broken with Polkelt. Secret Mage has changed the least, but it's still not the deck of the yore with Mana Wyrm, Flamewaker and heck, Aluneth!

On the other hand, other decks like Jade Druid, Even Shaman or (excuse the exaggeration) Undertaker Hunter completely crumble to the decks above.

I don't know what the solution is (Secret Mage is not broken because of power level of the cards, but the inherent synergy), but there is a problem and their excuse is just that, an excuse.

  • Blizzard is Exploring Adding More Complete Player Profiles to Hearthstone

I would be fine if they showed totals

I can't understand who's decision it was to take them away

people who play arena that have 10k+ wins all of a sudden can only see  the last highest win, like wtf, ofc it's gonna be 12

it was such a dumb decision imo

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #2 - More New Modes Confirmed, Profiles, Mini Sets, Arena, Wild, and More!

Heheh I'm not much worried about, is just a number attached to your comment but anyway feels like you said something that you shouldn't or something totally dumb. I know for sure that people have other ideas that for sure would disagree mine but sometimes will be nice to know more about them in order to see their opinions and, who knows, maybe helps to "see the light" and change my mind :P

Usually I didn't mind about that downvotes but now I think that I said something that could be hard to read (let's say this way) for somebody and I want to hear their thoughts about the current health of the game and, of course, if I'm the only one feeling this way.

  • I highly recommend against buying the mini xpac..

I agree with the comment made that if you are not a whale it is a great deal. Who knows what synergies await when the next expansion comes out. If you are a whale, do not bother investing.

Do they really not know their own game well enough to know that a spell that does nothing can never work? Exception being Pocket Galaxy but wow... top decking these cards late game can be a death sentence! Just add 'draw a card.' to the end of it, even if you have to raise it a Mana it'd be better. Only me?
