If such competition even exist in a middle class existence in 1st world countries, I'd still just recommend them to buy a portable monitor, which would likely not even cost half of what this thing will eventually cost.
The only advantage this confers is for couch potatoes to be able to play the ps5 lying on their back, which incidentally from my own observation, is unironically the real selling point of this device.
They accidentally made the 3-wins skin a 3-games skin instead. Maybe that will actually increase the number of tickets they'll sell; I guess we'll see whether they keep the change or not in the next Heroic Brawl. I briefly considered participating just to push them in that direction, but the skin didn't appeal to me enough to pay 1000 gold for it plus a few packs from the regular rewards.
I do appreciate that we got a Standard pack even when skipping the brawl.
And we now know the mini set is launching soon... ;)
I mean, some of us have to compete on occasion for access to their TV: this eliminates that problem, because if one wants to watch a movie or whatever and I want to game, we can do both now. Will I buy it? Probably not, but the option exists so that's something. Having to keep it in-house is pretty crappy, though; I can't argue with you there.
Previously the main selling point of handhelds were that you could play with them anywhere, however this doesn't really seem to be the case here, since you need to be in the same wifi as the playstation. Not sure how many people are willing to spend likely 100~200$ on top of the 450$ Playstation, just so they can play the games in their bed and on the toilet.
I think the Hero Power version is much easier to balance. My main concern with the spell version is Persuade the Locals and the potential it has.
Wailor
Battlefield Teleporter is a good card that will stand out among the sea of Legendaries that the competition will have. I do question if the draw being restricted to minions is truthfully necessary since Mage has a total of 7 cards in the game that are neither spells nor minions and 5 of them are exclusive to Wild, so I guess you might as well allow those to be drawn as well.
High Priestess Ishanah is a good card, although as pointed out, it does come down quite early, although the stat-cost ratio is fine so you can just up all of those by a bit. What's really hilarious is that if your opponent plays an Alexandros Mograine, the two effects basically cancel each other out.
Anchorm4n
I do agree that the art feels more spell-like than minion-like (I guess that could also just be the zoom in which the picture is taken), but the card is otherwise quite solid.
AeroJulwin
I do think Arcane Researcher J. Cristoph is the better designed of the two cards, but I think you should cut down on the name a bit. My main problem with Avalan is that the Crystallization tokens dilute your draws for an effect that's not particularly strong.
Crusader2010
I think the card design as a whole is a bit questionable.
The card requires you to run a lot of Legendaries for it to work, which is something that I don't think Team 5 would ever encourage because it's a big slap in the face for F2P or low-budget players (in before one of the mini-set Legendaries requires you to run a lot of Legendaries). Triggering the effect also seems very cumbersome, since you're only going to have a maximum of 18 cards in your deck by the time you play this, which is assuming that you went first and didn't play any card draw, and you wouldn't want all the cards to be Legendaries either. It also assumes that you're always able to play it on turn 10, which you won't always be able to do.
And then you have to wait for your hero to die as Warrior, which goes against the fact that you're probably playing a control deck to use this, and therefore have lots of means of gaining Armor. And that has to weapon while you still have at least 5 Legendary cards in your deck. It feels like too many things that you don't have control over has to align properly for it to work.
And I read your comment about Death Knight, but the truth is that the fact that Death Knight exists in the game now is something that can't be overlooked. People will draw the connection and they won't care that you're going "classic style" since that's just not how people in this hobby operate.
Let's talk about their card choices for the "best" eternal cards:
Pokey - can't get this one wrong
Shellfolk - yeah no way you can make shellfolk competitive you'll get otked or aggroed or sundiscd or a million other things
Allof traveler- a lot of Nora decks cut allof now, like amazing if you hit ramp and not much else
Inventive chemist - not a lot of midrange landmark running around either
Bilgewater:
Tf: a little slow now you wont find a ton of tf
Gangplank: midrange plunder will always be a deck I just dont think it's the best deck anymore to be running with midrange suffering in general
Fortune croaker: healing decks? Maybe? Idk
Allegience: yeah just a plunder card so one deck it hits and I haven't seen it in eternal yet
Demacia:
Lux: jayce lux isn't the scourge it used to be and while it will always be good aggro got a loooot of tools to out pace lazer
Rangers resolve: don't play this card its usually more effective to use equipment now
Sharpsight: they straight up printed a better version of this card
Bannerman: yes elites will always be playable but once again midrange is suffering
Freijord:
Feel the rush: this one is correct because even Jack turbo levels when this spell is played so it's combo uses are only increasing with time
Spirits unleashed: a little slow but I've played with this card before and it's not bad but again haven't seen it do much in eternal yet
Trundle: yeeeeeeep obviously
Troll chant: best burst in the game pound for pound
Ionia:
Deep med: there are straight up better draw cards printed even Ryze will usually pass on this now
Twin: you won't see a ton of twin these days like trying.to turbo a master yi or whatever usually they play the one mana equipment burst
Homecoming: best card in the ryze deck if they highroll multiple landmarks early not as good in other decks
Health potion: no
Noxious:
Legion rearguard - yeah best aggro card
House spider - still gets played in yassao because it's desperate for board presence that's about it, maybe Annie?
Flock - yeah best removal card in the game
Stun spider - sure pretty okay staple not amazing or anything
P and z:
Ezreal - yes very much so enables a unique wincon not found in other Champs
Viktor - has no home right now and nobody cares
Thermo - very good card
Get excited - Jinx only basically
Shadow:
Vile feast: not as amazing as it used to be as more and more one drops get printed that will out value it, you almost would rather tech quietus plus the new culling strike
Elise: has no real home right now iceborn legacy spiders sucks, and go hard sucks
Attrocity: doesn't get run after the nerf ever
The box: ummmmm no
Shurima:
Absolver - the game has moved beyond this card like you can play akshan Samara and instant rally with glave the power curve is just too high for one overwhelm spell to matter
Sivir - doesn't have a home right now, along with cards like Ash, undir, just slower midrange wincons
Endless devout - mono shurima staple so it gets a pass
Presavarium - sure always relavent
Targon:
Aphelios - gonna feel very bad with how slow he is
Zoe - yes because she's a free cycle so her dying doesn't matter, but her wincon is fairly irrelevant
Mountain goat - meh like very meh by today's standards
Sketcher - just no you can do better
This article gets a D+ from me 50% obvious picks 50% I haven't played eternal at all and am not an authority on this format.
They'll see once ladder starts in a week, have fun trying to climb with aphelios and spacey sketcher when people are otking you, aggroing you by turn 4, or doing some insanely broken combo.
For Overwatch they already announced a bunch of pvp and some pve content aswell as new Systems for season 6, however that season should start around a month before the Blizzcon. So at the very least I expect a new cinematic and details about Season 7, hopefully also including the Sombra and Roadhog reworks. I also expect them to briefely tease the Story mission they have for that season (the announcement of seasonal pve content kinda went under the radar, because of the cancelation of the hero missions)
I would also expect some kind of announcement for Warcraft Arclight Rumble. It's been in closed beta for over a year now and was briefely seen in the Blizzcon trailer. It also just got a big update that included big changes to how the player progresses through the campaign.
Rather than just releasing it as it is, Blizzard seems to have other plans. The BlizzCon in November2023 would make for a great stage to celebrate the official release and introduce players to the world of Odyssey. It's just the perfect opportunity to present us all the details and features we are waiting for at the moment, live on stage.
@Wailor: thanks for the feedback. I've edited the card the best i could (the text wouldn't fit on 4 lines so i had to change it a bit; also, i'd like to keep it as a warrior card since DK is not something i enjoy in general).
They must be really confident to announce blizzcon so early. Diablo 4 would be releasing a good 6 months after it starts, so if the game bombs especially from auction houses etc., it wouldn't be good tidings.
If I were to guess, there might be at least 2 games that's going to be announced, aside from the hearthstone expansion reveal. Probably something to do with WoW, or dare we dream, a new IP from blizz after so many years.
...or they'll just reveal another cheap iteration of what they have and we'll get the whole diablo immortal scene all over again.

Beat Saber is insanely fun on VR and a heck of a work out when you need to duck and jump to avoid blocks. Nice to see more games coming to VR

Well, EU and other countries have already approved the merge and even the UK Chancellor is unhappy with the CMA

Sony Announces Project Q - New Switch-like Handheld Device to Stream PlayStation 5 Games
Can the PS stream a game to this while simultaneously playing a game from the main console? I seriously doubt it so it seems quite useless to me.
Money better spent on another system and monitor if you wish to play amongst another.
Occasionally I play Minecraft Dungeons with my son using my tablet on that MS cloud gaming while he play on my Xbox. Seems more practical...
BlizzCon Returns on November 3 & 4, 2023
An announcement this week also draws attention away from the fact that the UK tech regulators are making the Microsoft merger very unlikely.

That said, Kraven and the symbiote suit look SOOOOOO GOOD!

I dont know, diablo 4 feels too clean at the moment, Im expecting something scummy like microtransactions, loot boxes etc to ruin all the fun.
Whatever the case, at least there's something to look forward to in the new IP.
BlizzCon Returns on November 3 & 4, 2023
There's no auction house in Diablo 4 and the game is solid so there won't be any issues there.
My expectations:
New IP has to be the unannounced survival game where a lot of the HS team left to work on: https://earlygame.com/gaming/blizzards-new-survival-game-is-reportetly-almost-here
