  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Pit Commander

I think this can work, by running a small high-cost Demon engine, with an early game of non-Demons. Card looks pretty strong though, also decent to get in Warlock as a "random" Demon.

  • New Demon Hunter Weapon - Warglaives of Azzinoth

Fool's Bane that can go face. I wonder if this card hasn't been powercrept in recent years.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Imprisoned Antaen

Compared to the other "Emprisoned" cards, this one seems to be on the stronger side of the spectrum.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Skull of Gul'dan

Seems like a very powerful card, this will see play for sure!

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Furious Felfin

Cute, but I rather have health > attack on early game Rush minions.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Spectral Sight

    Seems strong in Aggro.

  • This patch makes me want to quit this game.

Ok, lets break your post into smaller parts:

    1- Everyone is playing aggro:
Aggro is strong, fast, consistent and easy to pilot; also it doesn't require owning champions as much as other decks.
Obviously is always going to be popular especially to new players as designed to be.
You didn't stated what kind of deck you are trying to play, so its hard to give advice, but even slow control decks like Warmother can beat aggro with the right curve if built properly.

2- Elusive and Fearsome are not interactive
I agree with you on this one. I also dislike both mechanics for all the reasons you described. Both should be reworked in a way they feel more interactive.

    3- More cheap conditional removals
This one is quite bad as it could turn many high cost followers unplayable or Heimeirdinger into a must play champion for control decks.

4- Aggro being overpowered, Combo being overpowered, and Control pretty much not existing
As time passes by, decks are getting more and more refined so aggro tends to get stronger even without any buffs.
The only combo decks i remember are Ez and Karma/SI. After the last patch, the metagame got faster to the point combo Karma is not viable anymore and combo Ez is on the edge of being viable.
Just a few control decks viable: Ashe, Fiora, Garen, Heimer, Lux, Karma, Anivia/Thresh and my Spidy token Elise which i am sitting at rank Master 14º right now.

5- There's no decisions or variety in deck-building or gameplay
That's only true for optimal aggro decks that want to max damage. Its VERY untrue for anything else, and especially untrue for control decks.
Hell, even aggro decks can tech in a few control cards and see their winrate increase if all there is are aggro decks.

6- Instead of playing better, balancing threat output, not overextending, finding ways to increase value generation...
I do this every single game i play. Every day. Versus every deck, even aggro, and i do play a control deck.
Most of my wins come from the reasons you listed above. Against aggro, its usually overextend into ruination. Against control and combo, too many resources wasted in the wrong targets.
Also notice that, so far up to this date, Aggro decks didn't receive a single buff.

I am not sure why you are mad at this patch.

This game is getting better and better with each patch, Elusives and Fearsome units were impossible to dealt with when the game first launched.
They are still a pain in the ass to deal with, but its much more manageable now then ever before.

  • Imprisoned Scrap Imp is a new Warlock Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Expansion

Doubling Imp and Omega Agent are from Boomsday and therefore rotating; there isn't much support in the Year of the Dragon sets. But if they'd make something like a Doubling Imp with taunt like the pre-nerf Saronite Chain Gang, I think it's possible to recover from the tempo loss. And there is of course already Faceless Corruptor.

  • Shadowjeweler Hanar is a new Rogue Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Expansion

Secrets are only 2 mana on average and it's a discover effect so you can lower that average by skipping the 3-mana Mage secrets unless a really good one is offered. That makes it easier to chain this effect than Whirlkick Master's.

  • Five Kael'thas Sunstrider Decks to Destroy Hearthstone's Ladder - Play Him Before the Ashes of Outland Expansion Hits

I feel like this card is about to steal the show from the expansion. Its already taking Wild by storm. Danes miracle deck is absolutely nutty

  • Astromancer Solarian is a new Mage Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Expansion

I misread the card’s text, I thought it was any spell not Mage spell, my bad. Yeah that changes things since Mage spells all go in your favor.

Yogg was a different beast, you can’t compare him to this.

    March 26!

Hey Fluxfashor. Is there any info if the new duplicate protection will be retroactive? What I mean is if I get some packs now until that patch goes live and save them, will I benefit from the protection when I open them then? Thank you

I've heard that the rarity of each card in the pack is locked when you buy them but the specific card isn't picked until you open, so if that's true you should benefit from waiting.

  • Ménagerie à Trois - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Almost missed my own competition! Loving what's come up so far, I'll offer feedback for the cards I don't think have been submitted yet:

Kansas -  Angry Waters - As Demon has already pointed out, it needs the tribe tag, and ideally a different watermark (While I don't judge to much into them, a lot of people dislike Classic marks, and Rush only came in from Witchwood. I'd say Uldum for it personally. Other than that, It's a very techy card. Pirates are normally either the full deck, or rarely feature. While these kinds of cards have appeared before, Skulking Geist and Eater of Secrets are prime examples that exist purely to counter a problem, they're a little polarizing. I would suggest flattening the stats to a 6/4, as a 7 Attack rush for 5 mana feels a bit much.

Iskar - Totemental - It's a fun idea, if not perhaps too good play-wise. The one concern I have here is applying Magnetic to a non-Mech minion. Would it magnetize to Mechs, or Totems? Other than that, I like it.

Thepowrofcheese - Murkfin Elder - I like it. Murlocs have had minimal interaction with totems before with Primalfin Totem, so you could put this in a Murloc deck with the aim of cheating that out alongside, or else use it to pull a free Mana Tide totem and avoid some of the tempo loss that card generally causes.

  • Marsh Hydra is a new Druid Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Expansion

I think the only problem with Oondasta is that it doesn't curve well: if you have an Amani War Bear or Winged Guardian in your hand, you want to play that when you reach 7 mana, not keep it in your hand until you can play Oondasta. Marsh Hydra on the other hand supports your curve.

Even with Strength in Numbers, curve is important: if Oondasta is great when summoned from the deck but not when summoned from hand, it improves those games where you are already doing well, aka "win more".

Edit: Also, after this attacks is easier to satisfy than overkill: you can run the Hydra into Evasive Drakonid or a Tirion from Zephrys and still get the effect.

  • Should we all craft Golden Leroy's?

Yes. If you have a golden leeroy you will always top deck it when you need it.

  • Hearthstone's Public Fireside Gatherings Have Been Cancelled by Blizzard Due to Coronavirus

Can we get nemsy in this way too?

  • Five Kael'thas Sunstrider Decks to Destroy Hearthstone's Ladder - Play Him Before the Ashes of Outland Expansion Hits

Was just about to post this too. Kael'thas super is nutty.

  • Underlight Angling Rod is a new Paladin Weapon Revealed for Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Expansion

I'd agree that Paladin has felt like its been going through a midlife crisis for the past couple of years, the classic and basic set actually fit together fairly nicely. What has pushed Paladin to feel so weird is that they do not know what to add in every expansions, and instead of committing on something to make it work, like what they did with dragon priest originally, they just bounce from idea to idea, resulting in cards that just don't work well together.

Basically, if you want to fix paladin's identity you'd have to change the cards in an expansion, which is something I don't see happening.

  • Hearthstone's Public Fireside Gatherings Have Been Cancelled by Blizzard Due to Coronavirus

    hip

  • Should we all craft Golden Leroy's?

I thought you would get the full crafting value back for the highest value version you have... so 3200 dust for the golden... then you still actually get to keep the card, so if you in turn disenchanted that, wouldn't it be 4800 dust?

  • Five Kael'thas Sunstrider Decks to Destroy Hearthstone's Ladder - Play Him Before the Ashes of Outland Expansion Hits

I am so happy, that Blizz fucked up Wild again -.- ...

  • Hearthstone's Public Fireside Gatherings Have Been Cancelled by Blizzard Due to Coronavirus

Does anybody know if we will be able to purchase packs during a private prerelease fireside gathering? I know this hasn't been the case in the past, but you never know.

  • Should we all craft Golden Leroy's?

If you spend 3200 dust crafting it, then you won't actually be gaining from the rotation dust. So the net value would be 1600.

But yes, craft all of the rotating cards in golden, and reap the rewards.

Alright, I brewed up a new card, I am not 100% sure on the name or powerlevel of the card. But I saw the art and thought this might be funny.

The power level is, unfortunately, really bad. Hemet Nesingwary already exists, with a higher Attack and a targeted Battlecry, and he's a terrible card. I would come up with something else.

Alright, this is a (mechanically) very similar card, but a lot more powerful when it doesn't go off. And also a lot more flavorful.

    What do you think?

I think you forgot to put the Elemental tribe on the card.

It seems okay, although it shouldn't use the Classic watermark when it has Rush (yeah, I realize some of the basic DH cards use post-launch keywords, but I don't think having the barriers bent a bit means we should just break them altogether wherever possible).

Thanks for reminding me about the tribe. But small details aside, do you think it is ready to submit?
