The simple fact that Boompistol Bully shuts down all Lacky nonsense for a turn is enough for me to place this card in every deck of mine. All other interactions are just icing on the cake.
As a F2P guy with not a lot of wild cards the Heroic was a problem for me. But I made it work with a cheap rogue poison/silence deck, main plan is to Sap, silence or poison the huge buffed minions as they come out, use Shadowstep and Daring Escape on the silence minions and Plaguebringer so you don't run out of answers. You do need Alexstrasza to finish the boss off but other than that it's pretty cheap standard stuff.
If you don't have Flik Skyshiv, use Assassinate or Walk the Plank instead. The Galakrond package is almost certainly unnecessary, though the card draw and lackeys to use with Plaguebringer are helpful.
They absolutely should have been made a bit more difficult since I've done most of them with my default burgle rogue deck.
With such a large pool of wild cards I can understand things being easier than they were with Naxx and BRM, even if the bosses are objectively a similar difficulty (they may not be!). I wonder how people who have only been playing for about a year feel, since their collections will be comparable to mine back at the early adventures.
Perhaps Blizz should reuse the Lich King model, and impose real deck building restrictions, ideally as restrictions at the deck building stage (we know the technology is there because some tavern brawls have done this). All it would require is storing a deck at the encounter itself rather than using one of our normal 18 (again tavern brawls already do this). A cruder version is to only allow certain classes which might find things less trivial, e.g. you have to survive against the dragons with hunter so no endless freeze shenanigans.
I suppose we could technically impose these restrictions on ourselves, but people don't work that way. They want a challenge, but also take the easiest route.
I have only been playing for 10 days very casually and only since yesterday more actively so my experience is limited. But coming with a 10-year background in MtG, I can't say I am surprised that a card like Deny exists in the game.
Each faction has its own strengths and weaknesses, and "Counter" is a signature spell of Ionia, so denying only spells of cost 3 or less, as some suggest, is a little ridiculous. On the other hand, a cost of 4 for the same effect will again feel too cheap when it cancels 8-9 cost spells so people will still complain. I've had Deny cancel a Warmother's Call (I don't even know how I got it in my hand) and even a cost of 5 would seem too cheap at that moment.
Since there are some units that play with 6-cost spells, that creates a nice threshold and having Deny cancel spells that cost 5 or less seems logical. The enemy has their plans thwarted and in most cases you spend 1-2 less than your opponent. It's either that or Deny could have a variable cost that is equal to the cost of the ability it wants to cancel.
Yeah, the adventure is too easy until now. I played some heroic Naxx a few weeks ago and it was much harder than to newest adventure, even with all the new cards.
normal (named as story now) is laughably easy and heroic which is challenge mode is like normal difficulty..
there should be story(unlocks cards) normal(deck building) and heroic (ACTUALLY HARD!!!).
chapter 3 looked promising, a deathrattle deck that can pop them for 1 mana.. that's really challenging right? wrong! he trigger your deathrattles too so it's easy, the moment you gain board control you win.
A Skruk that buffs all his deck and board and hand by +1/+1 every turn for 1 mana.. 50% of his deck are weapons, the other half useless kobolds..
And 2 identical fights that are quite just ok, not hard enough though.
On the evil side it was a pure joke, heroic could be called easy mode for what it's worth...
The first one all his deck are dragons so dragon slayer and dragonmaw poacher make him a joke, the second one is the only one that made me make a custom deck(patron warrior) and is identical to the explorers so I am just annoyed it's the same fight, not even a twist.
and the dragons? it's a joke right? stall 10 turns.. just pick mage and freeze the board every turn.. not even close..
I don't know why they made them so easy... I remember trying again and again and again on BRM,naxx and frozen throne(only lich king, really) and having hard time trying to beat the bosses with many many tries.. this is a breeze.
and what annoys me is that it's obvious they made them easier.. cause they could make the dragon boss only trigger his on DRs they could made the dragon hunter actually having a functional deck (I passed for 5 turns doing NOTHING.. and still won), and the ships.. at least have ANY difference between the fights.. add some cannons only eudora has and cannons only the wanderer has..
Haven't tried it, but [Hearthstone Card (Alexstraza) Not Found] seems OP, just like against the avalanche guy from the first week. Drop many stealth minions like Jungle Panther, stall with Freeze or double taunts such as Wax Elemental, maybe even Big Game Hunter as tech if you have him. Then play Alex as soon as possible and attack with the stealth minions. This should let you finish the game in a turn or two.
So - the throttle is simply to keep people coming back to earn their rewards and unlock a collection more slowly. That way, the game can continue to have an active player base.
But, as I mentioned, if that can be done in a month, have they really succeeded? They've bought themselves a few weeks at most.
If the game itself isn't engaging enough to keep people coming back, those few extra weeks aren't going to matter at all.
(For what it's worth, I definitely think the game is engaging enough. If their reasoning is as cynical and insecure as you make it out to be, it's totally unfounded.)
I am actually starting to think they've got the whole thing backwards. Let us buy all the cards we want, but make us work for the cosmetic rewards. It is a lot easier to add new boards, pets, and card backs than to crank out new cards to collect.
I haven't played him yet, but i'm going to guess Wild Mechathun Warlock will be good - I know I've used that to beat probably 80% of the other heroic bosses without any problem at all.
Hopefully there's another way, because I'm not crafting Mecha'thun just because he seems to be the "answer" for Heroic these days.

Lol I figured this one out within a few games, so from that point on, whenever someone declares a kill spell at the same time as their attack, I like to teach my opponent this mechanic by blocking their strongest unit with the blocker that has been targeted for kill, therefore not taking the damage by only sacrificing my unit that was gonna die at the end of combat resolution anyway.
For a quite a long time the Russian version of Animal Companion said "Summon a random beast"
Oh, and there still is a funny mistake with the mirror from Karazhan adventure. When it says "you have THAT in your deck?" mocking the player, in Russian it instead is terrified of the card played.
I just finished the 3rd chapter of Galakrond's awakening and came across a funny mistake in the german localization that I would like to share (needless to say this contains spoilers about said chapter). Among the auto-attack cannons there is one card called Missile Pod. If you play the game in german you will find that this specific card has its name and card text in italian. An interesting implication of this: If you play the "Trigger all auto-attacks" card, Missile Pod won't trigger. My guess is, the game looks for the string "Automatischer Angriff" but only finds "attacco automatico".
In what language are you playing hearthstone and are there other weird/funny language related moments you came across?
On the other hand, Rogue is the only Galakrond deck left that's popular and Embiggen Druid barely case about battlecries (woohoo, you delayed the Big Ol' Whelp, what a play)

OTK-Quest-Mage in the 2. or 3. try. Wasn`t too hard to beat.

His deck sucks, just beat him with big priest, it's not like in normal mode, he has like 50% of his deck weapons, the other half bad minions.
I feel bad.. wanted a challenge.. got a really really badly designed boss.
Economy throttle actually pointless?

Freeze OTK Mage, easy win.
Mecha'thun doesn't work as well because you don't have enough answers to big guys.
Thaurissan, Antonidas, Sorcs and Molten Reflection is all you need.
Alternatively you can try some Jade Shaman shenanigans, but I don't think it's as consistent.
Honestly regular Skrunk has been harder to beat than Heroic

I have nothing against harder bosses, but this one is insane.
200hp and 1 Mana Keleseth HP is absolutly crazy without Chromis second life and double Turn HP.
Did anyone of you managed to beat him on heroic and what decks did you used?
what's with the mechanic of units not being able to attack after blockers have been removed from in front of them?
