It also counts any “end of turn” effects from your last turn. For example, the Death Knight hero power token that has charge but dies at the end of the turn (yes, I realize this is a Priest thread lol)
Having KotFT in Standard for a month just goes to show how much the power level has risen since 2017. As mentioned above, there was only a handful of cards that saw play in the existing meta. The 1 card that surprised me the most was Forge of Souls as it managed to pull Warrior out of the dumpster.
I know that's a nitpick, but Obliterate being Blood is kind weird when originally was an 1 Frost+1 Unholy rune spells and then become a Frost Only spell. But that's me being annoying
Might actually see play. The scorpion saw a lot of play, and even without the Poisonous effect, this has a little more stats and the ability to make the spell cheaper. This one convinced me!
Not a fan of this one. Yeah, it has Yeti stats for a little less cost, but even if it survives, it ends up chewing up your own health, and may be impactful in the long run.

New Neutral Minion - Arms Dealer
Probably a cool 1 drop for Death Knight decks. Also, it wins best name of the expansion award!
New Neutral Minion - Foul Egg
Finally, a new egg! Is it good? Not sure. Does it look fun? Heck yeah!
New Neutral Minion - Vrykul Necrolyte
Looks okay, but probably will end up being an Arena only card.
New Neutral Minion - Infected Peasant
Seems solid, but not sure it'll see play outside of Arena.
New Neutral Minion - Incorporeal Corporal
Only see this one being good with the new Druid legendary, really. Very cool name, though!
New Neutral Minion - Bone Flinger
I like the art and the effect, so it wins me over with those alone! Regarding seeing it in play, maybe for Undead-heavy classes like Death Knight!
New Neutral Minion - Umbral Geist
Not really convinced on this one, except maybe for aggro Priest. Maybe that can make it work.
New Neutral Minion - Sunfury Clergy
A lot of healing to be had, but not sure it'll warrant adding it to a deck.
New Neutral Minion - Nerubian Vizier
Might actually see play. The scorpion saw a lot of play, and even without the Poisonous effect, this has a little more stats and the ability to make the spell cheaper. This one convinced me!
New Neutral Minion - Silvermoon Arcanist
Really love this one, can't wait to try it on Demon Hunter!
New Neutral Minion - Brittleskin Zombie
Seems like a fun card, but the Deathrattle only triggering in the opponent's turn kinda kills it for me.
New Neutral Minion - Drakkari Embalmer
Not convinced, honestly. The card does seem good, I just can't see what kind of targets for its effect would warrant adding it to a deck.
New Neutral Minion - Silvermoon Sentinel
An Arena card, for sure. Not seeing it being useful anywhere else.
New Neutral Minion - Scourge Rager
The best of all Ragers, maybe they'll finally see some play!
New Neutral Minion - Amber Whelp
A cute card, but won't see any play outside of Paladin, probably. Strange that it's a Neutral card, given what we've seen of the expansion.
New Neutral Minion - Bloodied Knight
Not a fan of this one. Yeah, it has Yeti stats for a little less cost, but even if it survives, it ends up chewing up your own health, and may be impactful in the long run.
New Neutral Minion - Street Sweeper
It's like Consecration on a literal stick, but I'm sure there are better options.
New Neutral Minion - Silvermoon Armorer
Not sure where this card would fit. Probably only good for Arena.
New Neutral Minion - Shatterskin Gargoyle
Little too weak for its cost, I fear. Which is a shame, since gargoyles are super cool!
New Neutral Minion - Banshee
Seems a little too weak, sadly. Really like the idea behind it.
New Neutral Minion - Coroner
Pretty generic card, in my opinion. Not sure it'll actually see any play.
New Neutral Minion - Translocation Instructor
Way too random for my taste!
