Any number of mage decks what a card like this. Its less random in what you get, and but still random. It generates CHEAP SPELLs so it kind of fits the bill for many archtypes. Will it be the key? Probably not, but it will be good enough to see play, especially with that elemental tag.
Honestly amazed that the card lacks an Overload. It's a fantastic addition for Galakrond Shaman. With the Taunts, Invocation of Frost, and the Rush tokens, Galakrond Shaman seems a little Control-y, no?
Surprised it’s neutral and not a class card instead. Lots of tempo with some weapons too, gonna definitely be run in any aggressive deck that uses weapons
Hello to the new Mage Northshire Cleric - the one-drop that will be run in every single deck regardless of archetype. This is an incredibly solid card. *Too* solid/strong though? Only time will tell...
I personally find it to be fairly broken, especially in a class like mage, that LOVES random spell generation. I wonder how well will this fare in wild alongside Arcane Giant
Good invoke card. Helps fill your early game, advances your Galakrond and adds a minion to your hand. Now, the minion you will get is random. It could be a good 2 drop as a follow up on the next turn (EVIL Conscripter, for example). Or it could be a very high cost card that will sit dead in your hand for a long time. So, this could provide good tempo or just be a 1/2 body that most likely will be wiped out pretty quickly. Nonetheless, it's probably the best invoke card still.
Priest doesn't care much about lackeys and while any 0 cost spell is one to think about, I don't see this seeing non-niche play. In combo decks its probably fine, but just as a card, a random lackey isn't worth it to me.
As everyone has pointed out - Glacial Shard with rush (but the downside of not triggering elemental battlecries, if that matters). Maybe worth playing in a Galakrond Deck, since it's very cheap and can do a lot to control an early game board, but there are probably more impactful ways to get your invokes in.
As stupid as this sounds, I think it's nice they're adding a little Freeze Shaman support. It would be cool if one day you could play a modestly competitive Freeze Shaman in Wild. Alternatively, the next time they cycle cards into standard from wild, maybe Freeze Shaman would have enough support to be more than a meme.
You know, I'm real happy Reno's featured in these side quests, gives him a LOT of character (more than he had already) and kinda makes the other quests look a little bland lore wise by comparison.
that said Mage hasn't had a reason to play 2 elementals in a turn since Ungoro rotated, and I'm not sure any of the elementals they have would warrant them using this quest, either, since Elementals are very tempo heavy.
Still drawing 3 spells from your decks a nice reward
So here's the full Descent of Dragons set, everybody.
Descent of Dragons
As the conclusion of the Year of the Dragon trilogy reaches, Nebulon, the aspect of space and the Astral Dragonflight (an original dragonflight created by me) represnts the Time Traveler class and their allignment of "good" in this fight against the League of EVIL. Although this isn't the first time they've received Dragons or synergy (having a single synergy card in Blackrock Mountain, and none since), this is the first time it is embarked on as part of the set. Do we perhaps see Dragons becoming a more staple tribe for Time Travelers?
Join Nebulon in this set as you take on an epic journey. You'll take some Sidequests along the way, and find some Discover synergies.
Full DoD set
Nebulon's Tokens - Upon activating Nebulon's Battlecry, you will choose one of these to put into the battlefield:
New Paladin Minion - Lightforged Crusader
Yet another interesting mechanic - pushing in a whole new direction. I like it.
New Priest Spell - Grave Rune
So big priest is going to be even more powerful and standard is going to be plagued with millions of that heal mummy ... woo
New Warrior Spell - Awaken!
Only good thing is the invoke power, but overall not very good due to its cost
New Neutral Minion - Skyfin
Amalgam
New Mage Minion - Violet Spellwing
Any number of mage decks what a card like this. Its less random in what you get, and but still random. It generates CHEAP SPELLs so it kind of fits the bill for many archtypes. Will it be the key? Probably not, but it will be good enough to see play, especially with that elemental tag.
New Shaman Spell - Dragon's Pack
Honestly amazed that the card lacks an Overload. It's a fantastic addition for Galakrond Shaman. With the Taunts, Invocation of Frost, and the Rush tokens, Galakrond Shaman seems a little Control-y, no?
New Neutral Minion - Goboglide Tech
Could see play in more Tempo/ Aggro versions of Mechs (like Mech Mage in the past for example). Not a top tier card, but it's playable.
New Neutral Minion - Hoard Pillager
Surprised it’s neutral and not a class card instead. Lots of tempo with some weapons too, gonna definitely be run in any aggressive deck that uses weapons
New Warrior Spell - Ramming Speed
Interesting card to deal with big boards. Makes positioning even more important!
New Shaman Spell - Dragon's Pack
Galakrond Shaman with or without the Quest will definitely be a thing. The only question is - how big of a thing?
New Neutral Minion - Skyfin
Time to revisit theorycrafting a wild The Curator deck
New Shaman Minion - Squallhunter
Good stats, good power and good cost! Fits like a glove in overload shaman
New Neutral Minion - Tasty Flyfish
Love the art <3 but Menagerie decks are not good right? Doubt this will see play in Standard, maybe in wild with The Curator and Gentle Megasaur etc
New Mage Minion - Violet Spellwing
Hello to the new Mage Northshire Cleric - the one-drop that will be run in every single deck regardless of archetype. This is an incredibly solid card. *Too* solid/strong though? Only time will tell...
Mana Giant
The Cyclone card no one asked for
I personally find it to be fairly broken, especially in a class like mage, that LOVES random spell generation. I wonder how well will this fare in wild alongside Arcane Giant
New Priest Minion - Disciple of Galakrond
Good invoke card. Helps fill your early game, advances your Galakrond and adds a minion to your hand. Now, the minion you will get is random. It could be a good 2 drop as a follow up on the next turn (EVIL Conscripter, for example). Or it could be a very high cost card that will sit dead in your hand for a long time. So, this could provide good tempo or just be a 1/2 body that most likely will be wiped out pretty quickly. Nonetheless, it's probably the best invoke card still.
Big Ol' Whelp
Hi, have you met Azure Drake? It was sent to Hall of Fame because it was an auto-include in most decks (hint: it was not because of spell damage).
New Priest Spell - Whispers of EVIL
Priest doesn't care much about lackeys and while any 0 cost spell is one to think about, I don't see this seeing non-niche play. In combo decks its probably fine, but just as a card, a random lackey isn't worth it to me.
New Warrior Weapon - Ritual Chopper
2 Mana Deal 4 is pretty decent. And you get to keep a 1-1 Weapon. Not much, but at least something.
New Shaman Minion - Squallhunter
A big scary 4 drop to follow up my Lightning Breath. Good stats, dragon synergy, spell damage +2 and overload synergy, what a great card.
New Neutral Minion - Troll Batrider
Random is a hard sell for me, but at least it's cheaper than Bomb Lobber? I just don't see you wasting a slot (or two) in your deck for this.
New Shaman Spell - Invocation of Frost
As everyone has pointed out - Glacial Shard with rush (but the downside of not triggering elemental battlecries, if that matters). Maybe worth playing in a Galakrond Deck, since it's very cheap and can do a lot to control an early game board, but there are probably more impactful ways to get your invokes in.

New Shaman Spell - Dragon's Pack
Basically the same cost as Feral Spirit with the Overload calculated in, but stronger in dedicated decks. Will see play in Galakrond Shaman for sure.
Elemental Allies
You know, I'm real happy Reno's featured in these side quests, gives him a LOT of character (more than he had already) and kinda makes the other quests look a little bland lore wise by comparison.
