- at this point the opponent is forced to remove it (soft taunt), because of the risk of facing a 12/8 on next turn, turn-4.
Not to mention Dire Frenzy or similar efficient cloners. Or, as others said, the bare fact that a 3-3/4 Beast is still a nice play.
This card may not be OP, it might be just a Beast deck stuff, but this is by far NOT a meme.
It's like, if a card has OTK potential, then it is only valued in OTK terms, and the rest is overlooked...
This card has no direct downside, not even Tempo loss.
Cause Nightmare Amalgam is played in hunter decks just for the stats.. a 6/4 for 4(cause you are floating mana) is nothing spectacular this card is bad and I will have every epic I open this expansion be this card.
It's like Cloud Prince but instead of playing a secret you have to overload. It's a minion with fine stats and a good battle cry. It can fit in a variety of decks .
It's not clear from the text: do you need to be overloaded for at least 5 mana the moment you play the card, or do you need to have been overloaded for 5 mana over the course of the game? If the latter, then it seems like a strong card. If not, then it's useless.
The warlock legendary seems very nasty, forces your opponent to trade it if they don't have lethal. I can see this card being played as a "semi taunt" minion.
Well we know how good Diseased Vulture is, the effect is strong but is it possible to fully utilise on a minion which costs twice as much at 8 mana?
Hard to really tell honestly, it will be a must remove minion when played due to how easily it can snowball out of control. This should see some amount of play, but my gut feeling is that it will be too slow.
EDIT: Just had to double-take, if the card text is correct then this activates any time you take damage, including on your opponent's turn? Well that just seems kinda broken then, it can basically prevent your opponent from hitting face unless they have lethal.
When compared to Blazecaller one could assume that it would be easier to overload than to play an elemental the turn before, at least it should be more consistent. In an overload midrange/aggro deck this could be a very powerful addition, should be seeing play in the upcoming meta.
Very interesting card for Dragonlock or control warlock deck. If it sticks you can make a copy of it with Dragon Breeder or Sathrovarr. It generates lots of value.
Overload shaman is definitely gonna be thing. [Hearthstone Card (Thunderhaed) Not Found] alone is reason enough to play a Overload-Package, and this seems like powerful Mid-game play/finisher.
I hope they also print a card that unlocks your Manacrystals.
Is it just me or are the legendary dragons a bit underwhelming so far? At least compared to the rest of the expansion.
This is pretty much just Ysera for Warlock...and Ysera hasn't seen play in years.
You can't run it in Questlock because you need the hero power to activate. We still don't have enough healing to really get value out of this without dying.
I mean, this is basically just worse Jaraxxus
It doesn't work against control because they'll just remove it. It doesn't work against aggro because they'll just ignore it and kill you. It doesn't work against combo because it's too slow.
I still believe in Dragon Warlock, but there's no way I'M putting that thing in
well, reading comprehension is king and I am not. Apparently he summons EVERY time you take damage, meaning that against any opponent that relies on actively murdering you, this is basically a soft taunt/pseudo removal. If they can't kill you in one turn they can't attack your face or else they'll give you lethal for next turn, so they need to trade, which means you basically just cleared the board (or at least preserved your health total)
It's the ultimate checkmate card and I love it. It doesn't even need a build around. Just drop it into your Control Warlock deck of choice and it's a free win against any tempo deck that hasn't killled you by the time this drops.
Thanks to Dragon Breeder you can multiply it in case it gets hard removal'd.
Quest Shaman doesn't run enough overload for this to be worth and I don't think they'd want to include an overload package just to make this work. Kobold LAckey + Wasp already does the same amount of damage for less commitment.
Aggro Shaman already has Lava Burst, which is better because it's cheaper, and they really don't need that much reach. Could maybe see it being run in the more board centered builds. If you drop this with Zap after a tur 4 Thunderhead you get big tempo.
I get the feeling Shaman will get some cards that justify this existing
I really hope the other cards in this set are gonna be as powerful as predicted, because if after getting all kinds of awesome dragons I still have to play against nothing but stupid quest and aggroshamans using this stupid card I will lose my mind :)
Card Reveals - Cumulo-Maximus & Zzeraku the Warped
It's very clear, I think.
If you have at least one active overloaded crystal, when you play this card, you will deal five damage.
New Neutral Minion - Dread Raven

Day one golden craft for me!

Zzeraku the Warped
I really like this one. 5/5
Cumulo-Maximus
I don't think that this card is that good. There aren't any overload shaman decks rn and neither will they be next expansion

New Warlock Minion - Zzeraku the Warped
4/12 stats always is hard to remove, interesting effect, it will see play i guess
New Shaman Minion - Cumulo-Maximus
this card is very strong
quest shaman will be more oppressive

This seems to be quite powerful.

New Warlock Minion - Zzeraku the Warped
Is Warlock gonna have enough HP at turn 8/10 to play around with? Especially when you don't get Taunt?
This card seems pretty strong, but Warlock needs more Heal to make this work.
Edit: On the plus side - it also triggers on your opponents turn, so when they are playing aggressive Decks, they have to get rid of this Guy first.
[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Defender of Argus?

Dragon Warlock might actually be coming together.
Scion of Ruin
this card is phenomenal because it's got a super cool name

Nice to see some more Overload synergy.
New Warlock Minion - Zzeraku the Warped
yes,
Battlecry: Fill your board with 6/6 Dragons, then kill yourself

Good, but i dont think it will be competitive good. The 6/6 summons are strong, but the card itself looks too slow.
Out of Cards Reviews - Descent of Dragons Reveal Season #4
That's a bummer. I really like this flavor texts, it's a pity they ain't the real ones.
New Shaman Minion - Cumulo-Maximus
Very good, but a scary addition for quest and aggro shaman.
