  • New Rogue Minion - Waxadred

Waxadred is cheap enough to seriously consider in an aggressive tempo rogue with Myra's Unstable Element.

Okay, on second thought he's probably still too slow even if he's effectively unkillable, but it's a cute rank 15 play at least.

  • New Neutral Minion - Devoted Maniac

It's not really possible to know whether this will see play until we see the full set of invoke cards as well as all the different Galakrond hero power/invoke effects. Bear in mind that the invoke effect only has to generate 2 mana worth of stuff to make this card cost effective, which is incidentally how much hero powers cost, and upgraded hero powers actually tend to be worth about 2 mana.

Four mana for a 2/2 rush, 2 1/1 Imps and a tick on my Galakrond counter doesn't sound like a horrible deal, for example.

What will be the hero power for this one?

  • New Rogue Minion - Waxadred

So if he dies, he will be idle and take up board space? That's the only disadvantage I can think of. I absolutely love the card and the concept, 5 mana and playable with Valeera the Hollow in Wild.

Do the mana crystals come full or empty? I would expect it to be empty, which means yes you just dropped an 8/8 but your opponent is the first one to get access to a full ten mana. On the other hand if the crystals come in full this is broken.

if it works like Mojomaster Zihi then you will gain full mana crystals, but any mana you have already spent this turn will stay empty. So playing this guy at 4 mana will leave you with 6 mana open.

This is just an educated guess, so don't quote me on this.

You never know with hearthstone until you get to test it because it's not the most consistent game in the world. Just judging by balance though, I would be shocked if this card left you with 6 mana to spend after coming down as a 4 mana 8/8. That would completely negate the 'cost' of giving the opponent the first turn with ten mana to spare: assuming you have any 6 mana plays you're effectively putting 14 mana worth of stats on the board, not to mention the fact that your opponent probably didn't build their deck or mulligan for spending 10 mana on turn 4.

I think it's pretty safe to assume you're left with empty mana crystals if you play this on turn four, or if not, that it'll work that way after the inevitable nerf.

positioning does matter a lot. minions will attack from left to right. just the targets are random (if there are no taunts). generally speaking left side minions will die sooner than right side, which can have an enormous impact on the results

I don’t mean to be rude, but is anyone else disappointed with the legendary dragon card art? They aren’t necessarily bad, just not very epic

I'm guessing the artists were somewhat limited because they were given instructions not to outshine Galakrond, but you're not wrong, most of the other legendary dragons don't look very grand or epic. Even Fate Weaver, a nameless dragon dude, has more majesty than the new Ysera, Nozdormu, Deathwing and Malygos. I don't mind Waxadred looking a bit silly, but they really done the old guard dirty in the art department here.

  • Nozdormu the Timeless

Desert Hare into Evolve has a chance to be more disgusting now thanks to this.

what are the upgraded spells? are they only those 3 or is there a pool of cards?

In the "announcement trailer" the guy says Basic Mage spells.  Shows additional examples of an 8 damage Flamestrike (still 7 mana), and 1 mana Frost Nova.

  • BlizzCon Virtual Ticket Legendary Card Revealed - Sathrovarr

Dumb question, but I'm having trouble telling from the golden artwork if this is a Warlock class legendary or a neutral legendary. Can anyone clarify?

  • New Warrior Minion - Deathwing, Mad Aspect

Assuming it attacks in a random order and stops if it dies, this doesn't seem too crazy. Against a small board, it's Twisting Nether that leaves a threat, but against a big board, it honestly might not do much

  • Malygos, Aspect of Magic

I love both this art work, and the flavor text!  Loving this new Goose!!!

  • New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless

This card is bonkers, so in mulligan if your against a paladin you have to wonder if he has that card turn 4, do I keep my 7mana + drops or go for the 1 drops? D:

    Explanations?

The three examples I've seen so far is a Fireball that does 8 damage instead of 6, an Arcane Intellect that draws 4 cards instead of 2, and then a 1 cost Polymorph.

Not sure if there are going to be more, or if it's just these three.  But I'd expect any "upgrades" we see will be hard coded cards from Classic/Basic, and not able to offer upgraded versions of all Mage spells.  I'd be excited to see an 8 mana Pyroblast show up as that was it's original cost before it was nerfed to 10 mana during either beta or at launch.

EDIT: In the Announcement Trailer they say "Basic Mage spells" so no 8 mana Pyroblast, but things like I listed above, an 8 damage Flamestrike and a 1 mana Frost Nova.

That's a card! Will he die after taking 12 damage, or keep attacking until he's hit everything?

I'm kind of wondering the same thing.  You could maybe use Mass Hysteria to try and determine this interaction, but it's not quite the same.  And I honestly can't remember if minions still attack if they reach 0 health before they swing or not.

EDIT:  Watch the Spellbreaker in this clip: https://youtu.be/r6XWZvKWjOk?t=340

It doesn't attack before reaching 0 health, and then never attacks.  While this isn't really the same type of interaction, it could give a clue to how the attacks will work (or not work) after he reaches 0 or less health.

  • New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless

The Paladin dragon Legendaries are really generous; even your opponent gets restored to full health and/or gets 10 mana crystals!

  • Nozdormu the Timeless

SO it's a turn 4 (turn 3 with Coin) 8/8 that leaves you with 10 more mana to use???  WTF?!?!  Big Dragon Pally decks incoming!!!  Call to Adventure with this and nothing but 5+ mana minions and spells.  If not in Standard, Wild might be able to make this work with various 1/1 generating spells to help with early game tempo.

  • New Mage Minion - Azure Explorer

    Geesh the stats are terrible.
