He is a bright pinkish/redish/brownish bald guy with neon blue spikes. I understand it is his corrupted form but honestly, he looks like an idiot. I mean, at least rexxar is funny.
It's still pretty easy to build small board before the big Challenger play. There's also the issue with Noble Defender dying and triggering avenge to give you a massive Challenger even if nothing else is on the board. I'm just saying... prepare to run some secret clear.
I'll be keeping up to date with this site for the next week or so hoping for some sort of reversal of this decision. I'm honestly not holding out hope. In the mean time I've deleted my HS app and my battle.net client.
In lieu of any change I'll probably be done with outof.cards by proxy simply because I won't be playing the game anymore. I honestly feel much worse about that than I do about my decision to quit supporting blizzard games. To Flux and the crew, you guys run a great site. You're community involvement is awesome and I'm sorry if Blizzard's doctrine hurts your development greatly. I like you guys a lot and I'm still holding out hope for the best. As a warlock player with no alternative skins, I am exceptionally grateful to see my class getting one of the most badass 1000-win portraits. Imho almost all of them look sick (Garrosh is my other favourite, but warrior is one of my least played classes) with the exception of Rexxar.
I agree with you on the warlock being the nicest and the Derpxxar exception part as well, but beg to differs on Warrior ... It seems - thematically at least - to be very off ; Any old artwork with Garrosh looking all armored-up and ready to fight would have been better. Still, not as awful as poor mentally challenged Rexx. They should have added drooling at this point
I think his point was it's possible to push the patch out days ahead with all the new event functionality disabled until a server side flag is switched.
Then there's plenty of time for the updated client to deploy for players on the different platforms and regions, and a press of a button at HQ permits new stuff to go live when it's the right time.
Minor downside from Team 5 perspective would be it allows data mining ahead of time, but then the cards and event details were announced ahead of time anyway. And I guess they have to be ready to ship the new client a few days earlier.

Regardless of the art, it is nice to see some "long-term goals" stuff coming in. Here's hoping a real achievement system (with gold/dust/card rewards!) is coming next...

Garrosh is a reference to WoW yes. You fight him corrupted by the heart of Y'Shaarj at the end of Mists of Pandaria. Other changes referencing WoW and Warcraft more widely include Jaina's new clothes and hair style (not the fire mage bit though), Anduin wearing armour as King, and Thrall in his Warcraft 3 (and early WoW?) armour.
Valeera certainly isn't a reference to anything in Warcraft canon (pun intended), but I'm super happy with her as I have been waiting for a pirate rogue hero for ages.

Oh, makes sense. The old strings import "your" copies, which are technically different cards from the event copies. Blizz definitely made everyone's life difficult with how they handled adding these cards. They broke deck trackers and deck strings and everything lol.

Bugs I've seen:
Copying deck codes using the event cards go Wild only, you have to manually remove them after switching to Standard and put the event cards back in.
1,000 win Anduin (only 1k character I have) doesn't stick on Wild decks when you choose him as portrait for that.
