  • New Death Knight Minion - Thassarian

    Boring but competent for damage.

  • Blizzard Commits to Improving Blind and Visually Impaired Accessibility in Hearthstone

Sea of Thieves has implemented several features over the years to hep accessibility for blind crewmates/players

  • New Death Knight Weapon - Might of Menethil

The only problem with this card is redundancy. We already seen Bone Breaker and Rimefang Sword. So where does this fit in? There's only two runeforging and I'd much rather tutor out the two other weapons.

Not to mention the corpse requirement and the lack of corpse options for frost DK. If there's aggro frost DK then maybe, but with the two rune requirement you cant even sneak it into unholy builds, which incidentally this card would fit very well in. Just too bad.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Deathchiller

Its likely not as good as it seems to be, particularly if the effect only hit the target once each time (which means its not Flamewaker)

Because of hand size, even two of this card will only ever do 16 damage to face, and that's if your hand is composed only of spells and nothing else. I dont rate its chances if Im honest. The capacity for face damage might even hinder it, because if its not destroying the opponent then all that damage thats not going towards minions is just meaningless.

  • Thassarian is a New Legendary Death Knight Minion Revealed by Terra for Hearthstone's Core Set

There's alot of legendaries that will also get you aggro'd down. So that's not a fair barometer.

Similarly there's even more legendaries that are more interesting or powerful but never see play because they dont fit the game plan, or just plain too slow. This card is fine to me, both in tempo and effect.

Frost DK is a midrange tempo deck with some burn options. This card fits the description, and will very likely be played. Sometimes, legendary status can be granted simply to limit its play rates, and if this is the reasoning behind this card's legendary status then that's good enough for me.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Lady Deathwhisper

I'll be honest, I dont think its as good as it seems. Certainly for the time being anyway, because its increasingly likely that you'll have to kill this yourself to prevent it from being silenced.

But the real problem is lack of tutors for this minion. If its always here on turn 4 then fair enough its fine, very good even. But if youre topdecking this card after spending all your good frost spells what is this card even supposed to do?

The only thing going for it is that being a deathrattle means you can possibly abuse it. And with Horn of Winter that may not be all that hard to make an OTK deck out of this at some point. If for this alone this card gets nerfed it might be a shame, but its scary when it works.

I understand your perspective and in an ideal world I think you're right, but honestly I can't think of other games that go out of their way to make tools for blind players to play. When I saw the news about the program being deprecated and people asking blizzard to provide native support I assumed it was a pipe dream. For the most part accessibility features in games rarely go beyond colorblind mode and difficulty scaling. Personally I think a commitment like this to work on the problem so soon after the issue was brought to their attention is about as much as we could have hoped for.

  • Thassarian is a New Legendary Death Knight Minion Revealed by Terra for Hearthstone's Core Set

It's a legendary. It should be the best 4 drop.

    Playing a 3/3 on turn 4 is how you aggro'd down .

  • New Death Knight Minion - Thassarian

Just a good old solid 4 drop thats being unfairly compared because the rest of the other DK cards are OP as fuck. I mean, this card is already pretty good on its own. Reborn, deals 6 damage, and generating 2 corpses. Is there really anything else that's better as a 4 drop in terms of tempo?

I'd put it into my deck because it does nearly everything. Corpses, stick minion, deal off minion damage. The only reason why it wouldn't see play is the entire meta is fully hyper aggro.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Harbinger of Winter

Its just a better Loot Hoarder, and even then Im not entirely convinced. Why is this card 2 frost rune requirement when Bone Breaker, Ymirjar Frostbreaker, etc. only need 1 is something only the devs can explain, because this card is fairly shit.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Lord Marrowgar

This card just immediately end games against certain classes, which is why its likely going to get nerfed to 9 mana at some point because theres simply no other 8 drop that puts as much stats as this card can easily do. And with rush as well because fuck you.

What is druid, hunter, dhunter, and certain midrange decks really realistically hope to accomplish against an unholy DK that curves all the way to this card? Its curse implock, kill them by turn 7 or die.

Its only downside is that it doesn't auto win against control decks and youve just thrown away your corpses. For that singular weakness, it lost its fifth star for me. And only because other DK cards are by default strong competition.

  • New Death Knight Weapon - Rimefang Sword

If you're going for value, this is the sword for you.

3 shots and discounting spells? Sure why not? Get blasted to the face early by Frostwyrm's Fury just end games in my opinion.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Patchwerk

Likely going to be nerfed at some point to 2 blood runes, because the idea that this card is available to DK with only a 1 rune investment is just crazy. Considering that mutanus is still seeing play today, in what world are we thinking that an even better one wouldn't immediately be a problem? This card just saps 2 options off the list and as an added fk you it also deals with board. Its like someone in the design team really, really wants this card to be good and so flipped his lid at the last moment.

Our only saving grace is that this isn't a neutral card. Because you can legit have an entire deck build around this as an win con.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Marrow Manipulator

If frost DK can keep up tempo this card is dangerous shit. You can legit just get pryoblasted on turn 6, and even if you dont take the full 10 damage there's still a 5/5 on board.

Will get nerfed, because its just absurd. The body itself is already reason enough to play it even if it only ever hits minions. Against control decks this is just 10 damage to face with a 5/5, how is that remotely fair?

  • New Death Knight Minion - Repulsive Gargantuan

Its just useless stuff that's only incidentally helpful against decks that play plenty of lifesteal minions like...blood decks.

I guess if blood DK is overpowered then you can just drop this card and pray they cant remove it. Even spending Obliterate to get rid of it means 6 damage to face, which is very nice for a 4 mana card.

But against all other classes who dont have lifesteal, this card is just slightly better than Chillwind Yeti. In other words, unplayably bad.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Rime Sculptor

Forget about the stats and the tokens. These are bonuses. The main bit about this card is that it puts out tempo and generates 3 corpses for something better like Marrow Manipulator, which incidentally also curves from this card.

And honestly, this card is scary enough. Build up tempo and then blast face with marrow manipulator. Its just solid stuff that will get looked at once everyone figured out that DK is overpowered.

  • New Death Knight Spell - Remorseless Winter

Its just insane how dhunter used to be rogue/hunter but better. Now DK seems to be shaman/paladin but better. What more evidence than a card that's directly powercreeping old Consecration

That said, consecration itself is hardly ever seen today and that's because dealing 2 damage hardly ever kills anything anymore. But the draw 1 will help. Without equality, this card is just another option off discovers - besides being direct middle finger in Uther's direction.

  • New Death Knight Spell - Howling Blast

I thought this might be overpowered and then it dawns on me that we're actually paying 3 mana to do a mini Swipe. The freeze potential might be moot because if youre casting this on something that doesn't just die immediately then surely your already on the back foot and the freeze is only a momentary bandage. There's just better freeze cards like Icy Touch that's simply better than this card.

But the fact that it does freeze something means its an option off discovers. I just dont think it'll be an inclusion into decks.

  • New Death Knight Minion - Ymirjar Frostbreaker

    This is the new Battlefiend.

If frost is as good on tempo as I think it might be then this card will get nerfed at some point. Just imagine this card starting as a 4/2 on 1. I think entire games just end right there.

  • New Death Knight Weapon - Bone Breaker

This card is comparable to Dreadprison Glaive for DK, and a very nice tempo tool while also doing damage to face.

But the best thing about this card is that its tutored and costs 0 by Runeforging, which means DK will almost always have some early tempo tool ready. Kinda like how whetstone hatchet used to do for quest warrior.

Its only fault is the need to rune frost runes, and it fact is that there are at least 2 other weapons vying for the same spot. But that's a nice problem to have as opposed to completely unplayable.

  • Thassarian is a New Legendary Death Knight Minion Revealed by Terra for Hearthstone's Core Set

Its a 3/3 that will come back as a 3/1 after dead and dealing 6 damage outside of itself. All that for 4 mana. Boring yes, but a very effective 4 drop.

Not to mention that it generates 2 corpses, which for frost decks is fairly valuable. Buffing it to a 4/4 means its strictly the best 4 drop by a very large margin. With so many bs cards from DK I dont need another contender into the 1-month nerf list already.

  • Blizzard Commits to Improving Blind and Visually Impaired Accessibility in Hearthstone

It's great news that Blizzard is going to take the reins on this. But two things:

    1. Shouldn't they have done so from the start? Why did a third party guy have to carry the load and stress himself out to help other people play a game that's not his? It's very awesome that he did that, of course, but that should not have been his responsibility.
    2. It says "In a patch after March of the Lich King launches"; key word there being 'after'. It sucks that these players will be left out for the expansion's early days. This is a major moment, and they'll be on the sidelines because these tools weren't available on time :(

I don't know; maybe I'm off-base, but it feels like Blizzard gets to play "the hero" in this situation despite sort of creating it by not helping out more initially, and that doesn't seem right. Although as long as the people get the help they need it's a win, so...yay Blizzard?

  • New Death Knight Minion - Thassarian

I fail to see what's legendary about this minion and its effect; the fact that the deathrattle repeats once more because of the reborn keyword? Maybe it's because it produce more corpses that way?

    ...meh

  • Question about quests: What does this arrow do?

True, Team5 might very well consider this a new "feature" instead of a bug, but it indeed also means like you explained it perfectly that players in my situation are being penalized. Since they have not yet acknowledged this as a bug, I will most probably start the new rewards track with a disadvantage. I can only view this as more proof of their lacking standards/quality because they apparently missed this undesirable consequence or simply do not care about it.

My only hope right now is that when the next major patch is made available, which happens usually a full week ahead of the expansion launch, the daily and weekly quests will return automagically.

By the way, I would like to stop my ranting here because I still like playing Hearthstone despite all the numerous annoying bugs and I should not be taking this game too serious 😉

EDIT: Just logged into HS to see if a new daily quest would appear but instead I was greeted with the notification of a new cosmetic bundle being available in the shop. Fix your damn game first before asking for more of my money, Blizzard! Oh, the irony or audacity, lol 🤣
