I mean it does make sense. If they just gave them away that would kind of devalue wild cards as a whole and it would actively discourage people from crafting Wild legendaries as you'd always have to worry that the legendary you just spent 1600 dust on came to you for free with the next event.
It's basically a free trial. Anyone who plays N'zoth and finds they like the idea might just craft him afterwards to use him in Wild.
I'm pretty sure I'm over 900 already so guess I play comp with Mage. xD Anyone know which Mage deck does well, not looking to Dominate and climb to legend, just need to work on wins.
These cards will disappear from each player's collection after the event ends (source)
Thanks for the source on that. Super lame. Also super lame how people are so attached to the feeling of obtaining stuff being dependent on others not having it. I don't care if they give out free cards even if they are cards I already own. I want more people to play more variety of formats it is good for the game.
Your comment is really mature, and it's not the first one I've seen so far: I commend you for that. Besides it, I totally agree with you: I don't have a full collection, but let's say that I don't have to grind that much if I want to reach Wild high ranks. That beings sad, it's likely that some of those 23 cards are in my collection, but I'd never oppose to the idea of everyone keeping them.
People with full collection probably feel as if their dust (previously spent on, let's say, Rag) had lost some of its original value: I can understand that feeling, although I don't share it at all.
I've been playing since season 1 and my Priest is still only sitting at 109 ranked wins. Getting to 1000 will probably take me another decade or two, lol. Hyped for 1000 wins on all the other classes, though!
6 SoU packs up till now and you are right, i looked it up, there haven't been any classic packs in my twitch notification. Don't know where they came from.
You haven't convinced me that there is a problem here (...)
The problem: Let's assume that I am at rank 4 now. It's a matter of months before I reach Rank 20 through careful planning of my win/loss ratio, dropping 4 ranks at a time. Then I lose some more by conceding, to adjust my MMR accordingly, only to be matched against the poor souls who happened to be naive and ascend to the Rank 20 floor. My strat now is to win one match and concede the next or two and guess what; my MMR is low enough to be matched against those "Mark of Hakkar" players that are kind enough to greet me when they see me and are a delight to play against! On top of that, I farm gold faster than having to win an Archivist Elysiana mirror match! Only when I see another player like me (trust me when I say that they are easy to spot) I concede, but only if I was slow enough to press the concede button before they did. You would be surprised to learn that it actually hurts me more to win against those better win-rate guys, so I have learned how to concede in a blink of the eye (at the moment just before I hear the name of my hero, if taking reaction time into consideration)! What I've learned through this process: I'm actually better at assessing the correct match for me than the Hearthstone matchmaking algorithm!
The problem I have is
A) You don't know the circumstances for each individual. What if someone really loves this game and bought a bunch of cards so they could craft a tier 1 or 2 deck but they are still just starting out so they aren't that good with it yet and their low rank is deserved?
2) Your original postulation that this was an issue was based on the appearance of gold heroes which was pointed out several times is not connected to ability but time as well as the fact that we have two different cards in the game now that when used give you a golden hero and a golden deck.
Z) I just don't see actual data to back up your original assessment that this is a huge problem for the game. I am sure it happens to a small degree but it is definitely not something that I think people run into on a really regular basis. This is like when people whine about a particular card or deck because they ran into it a bunch but the actual data in the background doesn't back up their assertion that it is everywhere and overrunning the game.
This kind of makes me wonder...will Ragnaros even be as popular as he was when he rotated?
All things considered the pwoerlevel has increased by a lot. If you're playing against something like Quest Shaman or Aggro Warrior, is an 8/8 that randomly deals 8 damage and doesn't even have taunt be relevant at all?
I mean, yeah, we currently have no real 8-drop so he would fit quite well into most HIghlander decks as a play after Siamat, but other than that I don't think most decks will even want to slot him in there.
Highlander Hunter and maybe Paladin will probably run it, Mage probably not so much. Druid has no use for it, neither does Shaman. Aggro Warrior (particularly the Highlander version) might take out Grom for him, but even that seems like preference.
Also, if Sylvanas returns then Deathrattle Rogue will shit on everyone with extreme prejudice.

Sounds like fun... I wish they would give more information on reroll chances to up a reward (I'm assuming they will simply ensure *any* rerolled daily will result in a 50g quest, but I would like it confirmed to take out any confusion).
Rogue could work in theory. If you run double Shadowstep on N'zoth you can wall off most aggro decks, and with Anka you can vomit out your deathrattles quickly. Could even run Scheme to shuffle the bounced N'zoth afterwards....basically what Tess Rogue is doing now, but infinitely better in terms of consistency and defense. It might be a stretch, but Control DR Rogue might work as a gimmicky counter archetype. There's just the question of card draw.

Yeah I agree: I'm looking forward to use that badass Anduin

lol Manduin

I have been thinking the same thing, Ragnaros could probably return to standard for good and not be that bad.

Quest Re-roll is something I often do to get "harder" quests with higher rewards, not easier and lower rewards! WTF?!?!

I don't know why people just complain about quests related to some tribes, it's very easy
Play X Pirates: Make a warrior or rogue deck full of pirates
Play X Murlocs/Elementals: Shaman deck full of murlocs/elementals
Play x Beasts: Hunter deck full of beasts
Play x Demons: Warlock deck full of demons......
and so on
Play x class cards, just make a deck full of that class cards
With like 2 games you can complete those quests, in wild casual/ranked, just 10 minutes to complete, even less.

no Manduin for you then :^)

actually, not. one in 3 opponents is a secret mage. Yes it can be very diverse, but not in the current meta

Will be interesting to see what the average quest gold reward is after they add new quests. Hopefully not just a ton of 50g that lower the average.

Me too. And I don't play mage. (so won't get it anyway lol)
Anyone get packs from Twitch Grandmasters?

So.. I have to admit, you are right sir! My bad.

There are some more card draw options, but there is at least one card that's perfect in a scheme DR N'Zoth Rogue and it's called Octosari.
For warlock I can see N'Zoth in hand - > Expired Merchant... TADAAA!

I need that Gul'dan. I don't even care if I barely play warlock, I have to have it!

Literally the first blue post: "When the event ends the event copies will go away." So no, you will not be able to keep them.
But man those portraits look super sick. Shame I'm not even close to 500 wins on my first class.

I play a lot of wild and I honestly face more Meta deck in Casual than Ranked. I think you'd be surprised at how diverse the Wild ladder can be.
