Out of everything so far, I’ve loved what the expansion has done for my quest Priest. Gotten to run a deck with both quests which has been really cool so far, and Khartut Defender is just amazing in that deck. The first game I played with both of them was a lot of fun, reminded me of Dinomancy back in the days before Death Knights
I’m surprised Zephrys hasn’t caused too many amazing moments for me. Most of the time he’s more of a side note in my decks, kind of weird.
My favourite moment so far has to probably be the time when I played King Phaoris as a spell paladin and all I got was understated battlecry minions. There was Hir'eek, the Bat, another Phaoris, Giggling Inventor, you know, all the good stuff.
Sorry about getting this out a little later than our usual meta reports, we had some circumstances over the weekend that prevented it from being ready for your eyes.
Thanks, everyone for your feedback so far with the meta reports, it is also always great to read your comments. Wonderful job again by Targus!
I’d have to say it’s the crazy combo madness of playing amet priest or the new found worlock love I lost a while ago. Uldem has been a blast exploring all the combos an possibilities that came with it. An still play the song in my head all the time. All an all it’s been a great addition an a fun one at that
My favorite Uldum moment was playing Shudderwock against a control warrior. Casting sandstorm elemental into unseem saboteur into plague of wrath for a full clear, getting a full board and a full hand and recasting Elysiana while he was in fatigue. Insta gg
Favourite moment so far? Either the Uldum reveal song (and the 10 hour version of it) or getting just the right cards of Zephrys the Great every single time!
God damn Frost Lich Jaina is shit-tier design. Tell me Blizzard, why should I play the quest or any other Hero Power changing cards when the best hero power and battlecry in the game are both piled up in one card? Tell me Blizzard, why should I interact with the enemy board if he is playing control mage, since that clearly means the odds of me losing from turn 9 onwards will only increase?
It's shit for the deckbuilder. It's shit for gameplay. It's shit for mirrors. It isn't lost on me how often this atrocity has been banned from Tavern Brawls. Even the games that I win with it make me retch.
We've built up pretty unique shuffle effects in several classes, which might be fun to explore. Astral Tiger and Malorne in Druid, Deck of Wonders and Forgotten Torch in Mage, Immortal Prelate in Paladin, Bwonsomdi and Benedictus shenanigans for Priest, Rogue's ability to infinite shuffle ANYTHING, White Eyes in Shaman (I've got a whole deck built around summoning as many as possible, it's great!), and Dead Man's Hand or Explore Ungoro! in Warrior. Not to mention all the lovely neutral effects, like Weasel Tunneler (*smoker grunt*), both Elises, the Portal cards, The Darkness, and Hakkar.
Casual Mode - Netdecks are banned. Gold is not rewarded. Quests cannot be completed. This is purely just for fun mode.
I'd be in favor of this, it definitely allows players to play themed decks just for shits and giggles. "What if I made a deck with only orcs in the art?" kind of stuff.
You forgot one thing. Currently we have Standard Casual, Standard Ranked, Wild Casual, Wild Ranked, Tawern Brawl. So the player base divides into these 5 parts. If you dillute the game with 10 new formats, in bad times (evening, school time etc.) the wait time to find a match in the particular mode can extend to very lengthy ones.
