Revolutionary! Never would have thought to put these cards together.

  • Tired of Hearthstone

    Good eve fellow Hearthstoners,

got back to the game after taking a short break as Rise of Shadows was really bland and I really quickly lost interest in the game, quite frankly had higher hopes for it as I've been pretty dissappointed with the expansions since Boomsday Project. But honestly Saviors of Uldum really trumped it all with the massive amount of stale and bland legendaries. I've literally never EVER had 0 legendaries that interested me. Yet now I honestly have no clue what to craft. What bums me out even more is that I even won the outofcards giveaway, got super lucky with my 53 packs and still haven't got anything to do as both Standard and Wild ladders are just honestly the same old shitfest as they have been since forever. Standard being stale and Wild being, well, terrorized by decks that I don't even dare to name as I would probably get a lot of meaningless hate for it.

Point is, I'm pretty much bored of the expansion on the first day of playing it and it's frustrating as I've loved this game to bits for such a long time. I'd appreciate any tips for some decks you guys have success with as nothing I came up seems to work. And please refrain from comments to play other card games. I've tried many and they were fun for a while, but not in a longrun.

This looks very promising and fun, I will try to make a similar deck and see what happens.

Been playing Quest Paladin on standard and it’s pretty good, and most importantly a blast to play!

Shamans - mostly Murloc and Quest, generally beat them

Rogues - beat almost all of them, including some Quest Rogues

Quest Druid - generally lose against them. They seem incredibly powerful to me, I guess aggro is just weak against them

Mech Warrior - god, I hate them. Almost no new cards, near infinite value generation and clears, and the marvelously broken Dr. Boom. Only beat 1 so far. Ugh.

Priests - haven’t seen them much, the few I saw were Quest. Don’t really think they’re consistently bad or good.

Mages - Mostly Secret, a few Quest. They pounded me when I was starting with the deck, but I’m getting better against them now

Overall, had alot of fun! Except against Mech Warrior. They suck.

I was a bit angry when i wrote my comment, i don't wanted to sound toxic. I'm glad you understand.

  • Desert Obelisk Rogue

I cut it to focus more on staying alive long enough to get the Obelisk/Shadow of Death combo to work.

This I think is the tension of Obelisk Rogue or Mogu Cultist Rogue. While Rogue is the only class with enough tools to credibly pull off the necessary combos, you have to actually build a deck around all those tools, and you can't use them on other targets at any other point in the game. So "Shadow of Death" serves as a dead card in your hand until the moment is right, "Togwaggle's Scheme" would sit in your hand until the moment is right, etc.

But to the comment above, if this is the direction you're going, I think you're still better off running "Togwaggle's Scheme" over Augmented Elek. You only have the one shuffle card, "Shadow," and you'd have to split the mana cost of 1 Obelisk + Elek + Shadow over 2 separate turns. If the Elek is just going to sit in your hand, you'd get as much value from an upgraded "Togwaggle's Scheme" and then be able to pull off one whole set of actions for 10 mana.

One thing I actually appreciate about the "race to finish the quest" mechanic is what it has done to smooth the rhythms of play time. We knew all along that Blizzard aimed for quests to be completed in the mid-game rather than "finish and you win," as in the old model -- and as a result, I've found my matches to be slightly longer than in Rise of Shadows, with more diverse action in the early game, and fewer lopsided contests.

Particularly appreciated in some of the Quest design is how they seem to discourage the "brain dead" mechanics that most people found frustrating in the last expansion. With Druid in particular, it's almost impossible to token spam while also leaving unspent mana on the table.

As long as there are robbers, criminals and such out in the world, you can have as many snowflakes on these forums trying to stop them as many as you want.

"What happened to our standards?" What standards? Men were animals in the past (sorry for the exception), you can only protect her 100% of the time, if you are there with her.

I also understand the other side of the coin too, but why is it necessary to only have positive comments?

Either you're part of the problem or you are part of the solution. I for one want to set a better example for my kids and my community. IF you are comfortable being a PoS , and enjoy contributing to a toxic, poisonous environment then I guess that's your prerogative.

Not saying you personally,  but just in general.

For me only Rogue and Warrior left

Quest-Thief/Burgle - or even tempo lackey - Rogue will make it this much easy and fun for you to complete!
As for warrior, it shouldn't be a problem either ; with so many archetypes to explore, dragon-taunt-rush-mech, your pick?

  • Standard Elise Highlander Druid

This is my first selfmade Saviors deck. Most choices seem obvious because of the card limitation but I had good results with it so far. I'd like you to give it a try. :)

  • Give em' the Old WhizBang

What about the shadow cloak? Is that as good? I don't have Wizbang.

  • Theorycraft Quest Paladin

Blessing of Wisdom is a good idea. I may try one copy in place of Questing Explorer because i sort of feel like that card is inconsistent in this deck and not valuable after the quest is completed. I like running Acolyte of Pain to maximize the value of Crystology and it has potential to draw multiple times and influences the way my opponent plays around my board sometimes.  As mentioned theres also some synergy with Subdue although the main purpose of that card is to neutralize big minions and make them easy to clear without losing my own. Plus i could occasiinally play a Pharaoh's Blessing on it and then copy it as well.

  • Saviours of Uldum Pre-Release Patch - Crystal Core Change, Card Backs, and Bug Fixes!

Since the randomized cardback came in, I didn't had much issue with any ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still, like you I'm hoping for the extra awestruckin' cardbacks in the future.

  • Yogg Saron’s wishing well.

I got Hack the System in my very first pack, but a few packs later I got a golden Zephrys the Great, so overall I think Yogg was in a good mood. He also gave me a puzzle box and two pilgrims...

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

Really enjoying Highlander decks with Zephrys the Great so far, both in Mage and in Druid, really always delivering something useful, sometimes even cards that I never considered (as a pretty casual player). Also managed to pull off the Linecracker + BEEEES!!! combo just now: SoU so far is good times, good times!

Hahaha XD XD XD I guess Chuck Norris is a bit proud of his martial arts apprentice Reno Jackson. All those manly poses just to release some powerful farts (although, obviously, Mr. Norris doesn't need them to achieve the same effect) :P :P :P

This was epic my friend :D

I can't believe people are not only taking your post seriously, but mine too.  I thought it was super obvious.  How can this many people be so clueless???

Apparently not everyone can understand how serious you were being (which is not at all lol)

Well, people is just being, well... people. :P I upvoted your comment because you made me laugh a lot and knew you wasn't serious, but probably it should be the only upvote your post should have considering the circumstances. XD

Also, thanks for being with me all this time, I appreciate your company and support a lot. Seriously, thanks for everything, my dear NightCrawler!!! :D :D :D

  • Knee-jerk reaction to day one ladder (SoU)

    Quote From YJHS2000

I'm gonna be the negative nancy here. The new quests are too powerful, especially Shaman, Druid and Rogue. The vast majority of games I've played come down to a race to finish the quest, with minion interactions (you know, the crux of this game) being an afterthought. On top of that, I've been playing LackLock (or WarLack?) and it's the same. If I draw Dark Pharaoh Tekahn before opponent completes quest, I win. Otherwise they win. Luck has always been part of HS, but this might be crossing the line for me. Too highroll. Maybe things will change and new non-quest decks will emerge and take over the meta, but right now... meh.

I said this in another thread, but I think the "race to finish the quest" bit will stop when the meta settles outside of something this experimental. I don't think we'll see too many quests on ladder in a month.

    Quote From Firenza

    4) Here's my true knee-jerk opinion: Quest Paladin needs a nerf. I find it to be game-breaking on the same level as Jade Druid. Reborn minions are proving to be good, but not overpowered. However, the hero power in combination with Mechano-egg is game-breaking. The deck goes infinite with Mechano-eggs in the mid-game, and becomes impossible to beat. The original reason Paladin was given such a powerful deathrattle minion is because the class didn't have deathrattle synergies like Priest and Rogue. You would never give Paladin a card like Shadowy Figure, but the new hero power is essentially infinite Shadowy Figure. It's busted. The deck is also able to run lots of heal without an issue. It breaks control decks, and can easily survive aggro/zoo decks. Nerf the quest to hell.

I disagree. I think it's better than I expected it to be, but it's HARD countered by Shaman, and it's at least checked by Priest, if not also hard countered.

And a lot of other decks can just get out in front of it.

I would be surprised if it becomes a centralizing force in the metagame.

Ah, yes, the self-sabotage 5-mana 8/8 we get at least once a year. How exciting!
