Has there been any news, or indication that we're getting a third annual Fire Festival?! It'd be really REALLY nice of Blizzard to do right about now... Please, Ragnaros! Be the Savior of our Wallets by helping us increase our gold coffers before Saviors of Uldum!!!
One thing that specially makes me angry is that this invalited their always used argument of 'we don't do this because will confuse our players', but they not only change art and names, but and entire card in Fesltaker without any previous announcement, something that genuinely confuse the playerbase, but really, I blame myself for being surprise of all of that.
Just about everything that's been said before, say, Boomsday, is now out of commission. New change of leadership. New rules. It's why they are making fast changes to nerfs, why we get buffs and cards midseason, why old mechanics are returning, and so on. consider everything back in play until they say otherwise in RECENT post.
As far as the overall concept; it's China. China has a VERY different culture from the West and now the big money comes from them instead of us. Expect this to be a normal thing to expect now.
As far as the cards themselves:
I actually like Queen of Pain better. She's more dynamic in her art. The only thing going for the old one is that it's a 'mistress' which only works well in a "oo I sexy demon, wink wink" way. Sidenote: silly to say it's a sexual thing when the Queen is wearing almost nothing compared to the Mistress.
Eviserate: literally took me a few minutes to find what was changed...I think. It's that bit of blood? Literally makes no difference beyond just getting angry at the concept.
Succubus: I'lll admit I'm sad about this one for a second. Though now that I think about it, what IS the concept behind a succubus that steals YOUR card in order to be stronger. Makes more sense for her to have lifesteal or something. So beyond nostalgia, a random beast that's strong but takes your card makes more sense
Windfury Harpy: MUCH better art. She's still basically naked so again "THIS is the anti-sex version?" What has changed is that the new harpy's back isn't broken. Seriously guys LOOK at the old harpy's hip and back and realize bones don't go that way. Now that I see the comparison I REALLY don't want to see the old one around again. It's having that "broken jaw James Bond" feel now.
Secretkeeper: Going to be blunt, new girl is hot, old one always looked meh with a messed up face. You lose all ability to judge art styles if you disagree.*
(*yes I'm joking, but I do so much prefer the new art and always disliked the old one)
Bite: meh. I prefer the old one here. But it works so whatever.
Deadly Shot and Headcrack fail. Flat out. I don't mind changes for decency and morals but you have to keep the theme of the card, which is why I agree with Felstalker over succy. Deadly did the reverse. WTF is the new card demonstrating. Couldn't you..say, just do a shadow effect of an arrow going through a 'target' or..well something other than a random arrow flying through the air? headcrack artwise looks better, but the old one REALLY spelled out what the spell was doing: whacking someone and coming back to whack again.
So yeah, 3 improvements. 3 'meh' acceptables. 2 fails.
They'll probably be all neutral minions, like their previous incarnation. Considering they're "heroes" they probably don't really have a specific class, except Elise that has "become" a Druid today after being announced as the new Druid potrait (nothing before that had ever pointed out that she may have been a Druid).
Seeing as Mind Blast features a guy getting his brains blown out by dark magic, why wasn't this given a new art as well?!?! Inconsistency!!! Which is always a cause for free shit. Packs please!!!
Or I'll take a third annual Fire Festival!!! Please, Blizzard?!?!?
So from the trailer it seems Finley is the paladin, Elise is the druid. The rainbow gun makes me think Reno is the mage but they both give off hunter vibes in the trailer too so who knows
I'd switch out a lot of the cards starting with frost novas, ice barriers & 1 voodoo doll to try adding archmage arugal, frogs and arcane missiles. Now after all this, why not book of specters and go try using 5 galvanizers? It's simple: galvinizer, arugal, banker, banker, book of specters when your deck is low. With 5-cost mechathun, it's simply a matter of the voodoo doll and hero power. Doomsayers are too good not to use and can also kill mechathun in a pinch. Jepetto is a nice card that gives a chance to draw mechathun as 1-cost. Even lunas pocket galaxy, anything to get a cheap mechathun.
Now, between a t5 luna and jepetto, and just 1 galvinizer, there's the prospect of playing a 9 cost mechathun, but along with a 1 cost banker, adding mechathun back. You would have saved a lunas pocket galaxy or jepetto to turn mechathun 1-cost this way.
You'd think mana cyclone isn't good, but it is so nice to add in this deck. If 1-cost mechathun comes easy, use bankers to put these mana cyclones back in your deck, and you'll always have a hand full of spells to work with. Hex lord mal is also great to make it work.
After seeing the outstanding cinematic trailer I thought explorer's classes were pretty clear:
Elise has a magic book-> she is a mage, Brann rides a dinosaur-> he is an hunter, Finley seem to have something to do with animals and nature-> he is a druid, Reno has a cannon with crystals that generate light-> he is a pally.
But seeing the whole announcement trailer I noticed the druid quest has Elise in its art, so I relized she had to be a druid, but this created a lot of other problems, since no one else seems to be a mage; Reading the comments under the videos and here on out of cards it seems there is a consensus on the classes (elise as druid, finley as pally for the golden fish, reno as mage, since he has those magic crystals and brann as hunter); but even this scheme does not make that much sense to me, because druids don't use magic books(I might be mistaken since I'm not a wow player, but I don't remember a single druid with a book in hs), pallies don't have animals and crystals that generate light have nothing to do with mages, so I had an idea: "What if Explorers were bi-class?" and after seeing the trailer dozens of time I noticed something else: the weapons have characteristics from various classes:
Finley's golden fish sword is an animal, but is golden and seems to be enchanted with light(druid-pally) Elise's magic book seems to have both etheral powers and nature-related ones(mage-druid, plus she also rides an horse) Reno's gun has crystals and generates light, but it's also an hunter weapon (pally-hunter, and he also fights with animals in the part where he is alone) Brann is the problematic one, since he has less screentime than the others (he just appears with other explorers while finley, elise and reno have a solo part during the trailer) and he has not a consistent weapon (at the start he has a whip and at the end a shotgun) and even if I guess its main "weapon" is the dinosaur (which has nothing to do with mages, unless it's not something like a magical dinosaur, but it does not look like that, and it's fully grown up at the start and just an egg at the end), Brann's class choice might have a deeper meaning.
Except for Brann, who's not highlighted as the others, I can't unsee the double nature of the explorers' weapons anymore. What do you think?
Maybe Hand Token Druid can do something with this? Basically neutral Acornbearer
This card is much weaker though.. it's a base 1/1 and not a 2/1 which is a big deal, leper gnome as a 2/1 saw tonnes of play, as a 1/1 never seen. same for abusive sergeant.. it's a big deal for aggro being able to trade up with 3/2 and 2/2 2 drops..
I love that the quests have synergy with legendaries from Rise of Shadow. It seems the game designers are not trying to push a completely new archetype but rather build on an existing one, which makes future decks unexpensive.
because we need even more efficient removal for a class that has barely any counters already. I guess going with a small number of medium bodies is no longer an acceptable strategy.
I would like to ask you to delete my old accounts with usernames Wendeee and Wende. When that is done, I would like to ask you to rename my main WendeCZ username to Wendeee. It would be also great to update the "joined" date on the main account to "03/29/2019" (according to old Wendeee account - yes I am proud that i joined during the hearthstation:)
Thank you very much!
Not going to delete anything just yet, but i did go ahead and fix your name and join date =D
Who looks more like a mage to you? Imho Reno could be paladin, Brann could be a hunter (it has a mechanical owl pet), but does that mean, that Finley would be a mage?
[edit] Btw I am aware, that this page concerns only the playable hero skin Elise, but since she is pictured as a druid, I wanted to learn which classes the remaining three heroes represent.

New Hearthstone Expansion Revealed - Saviors of Uldum - All Revealed Cards
We found the voice of the dead lady banker.
New Mage Spell - Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron
This card sucks from an e-sports viewpoint, why does Blizzard insist on making these :/
Mechatun MAGE (POSSIBLE)

New Hearthstone Expansion Revealed - Saviors of Uldum - All Revealed Cards
Well 5, plus of course -1 card in your opening hand/deck and also no hero power anymore.
New Neutral Minion - Jar Dealer
This card is much weaker though.. it's a base 1/1 and not a 2/1 which is a big deal, leper gnome as a 2/1 saw tonnes of play, as a 1/1 never seen. same for abusive sergeant.. it's a big deal for aggro being able to trade up with 3/2 and 2/2 2 drops..
New Druid Spell - Untapped Potential
I love that the quests have synergy with legendaries from Rise of Shadow. It seems the game designers are not trying to push a completely new archetype but rather build on an existing one, which makes future decks unexpensive.
New Warrior Minion - Restless Mummy
reborn is gonna be nutso in Arena
New Mage Spell - Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron
This leads me to believe big spell Kalecgos mage will be pushed more this expansion.
Vanish and Mind Blast HoF Dust Refunds...
You get dust only if you don't have wild unlocked according tot he patch notes.

because we need even more efficient removal for a class that has barely any counters already. I guess going with a small number of medium bodies is no longer an acceptable strategy.

Fair enough, thanks
New Hearthstone Expansion Revealed - Saviors of Uldum - All Revealed Cards
so druid quest is basically spend minimum 4 mana and 4 turns then all choose one are both? that seems pretty poweful
New Druid Hero - Elise Starseeker
5 villains and 4 heroes for all of the 9 classes.
Rafaam - Warlock;
Togwaggle - Rogue;
Hagatha - Shaman;
Madame Lazul - Priest;
Dr. Boom - Warrior.
Elise - Druid;

New Warrior Minion - Restless Mummy
I expect the warrior quest to be to play rush minions, which makes you want to play this every time.
What do you think of the card art changes?
Everytime a game changes something for being too sexual, I get reminder of this video:
EDIT (off topic): Is there any way I can put the actual video instead of just the link. The button doesn't seem to work for me.
Edit (sinti): fixed it for you.
Plague of Death
I thought Mage was supposed to have superior board clears?
New Hearthstone Expansion Revealed - Saviors of Uldum - All Revealed Cards
Plague of Death is a card I was waiting to be made for 3 years.
Btw: paying €80 just so you can get new skin sucks.
