What is Behold in Legends of Runeterra?

Legends of Runeterra has many card effects that are common enough that they get their own keyword - a word or two that immediately tells you how the card works. Let's take a look at the Behold keyword.

Bonus if you have a type of card in play or hand.

Behold is a keyword introduced in the first set of Call of the Mountain, the second expansion for Legends of Runeterra. Behold is an effect that triggers if you have a card in your hand or your field that follows a specific criteria listed on the card (such as "Beholding an 8-Cost minion"). Behold is associated with Frejlord.

Keywords that Work Great with Behold

While Behold itself does not synergize with a specific keyword, you will most likely want to use Behold in a control deck. Therefore, any keywords that help you stay in a controlling position will work well with Behold.

Playing Against Behold in Legends of Runeterra

The most direct way to play against Behold is to Aggro your opponent down as their deck will be full of high-Cost creatures that will be stuck in their hand if they can't stop you from pressuring aggressively.

If your opponent is playing Behold, they will most likely have quite a few high-Cost units in their deck. This means that it may be wise to save some removal for them.

Example Legends of Runeterra Behold Cards

[Hearthstone Card (Faces of the Old Ones) Not Found] [Hearthstone Card (Troll Scavenger) Not Found]

[Hearthstone Card (Troll Ravager) Not Found] Trundle

Faces of the Old Ones is a card that will ramp you if you Behold a card with a cost of 8 or more at the start of each round. Given that your deck will most likely have a lot of high-Cost cards, some early game ramp will be very useful.

Troll Scavenger is a unit that will become a 2 mana 4|3 if you Behold a card with a cost of 8 or more when you summon it, which is very high stats for the cost.

Troll Ravager is a 3|5 unit for 4 mana that gains Regeneration if you Behold a card with a cost of 8 or more when you play it.

Trundle himself does not have Behold, but his upgraded form will gain +1|+0 for each card with a cost of 8 or more that you Behold when it attacks.
