I think they're keeping it Standard right now so that Demon Hunter isn't unplayable in Arena. Though I suppose they could have Ashes, Scholo, Initiate, and then a few wild sets.

I actually like this brawl. Sure it's not good enough to run 30 times but it's good for completing lots of quests in a fun way.

I disagree, whenever Burgle rogue would win games it would feel horrible to lose to. You're losing to cards that rogues should never have. Losing to an infinite Tess that summons massive taunts didn't feel good.

Gadgetzan is probably my favorite Hearthstone expansion in relation to themes (not a big fan of the balance). I've actually been working on a sequel to it as well but love seeing someone else tackle the concept.
