thanks for the well put together insight, I still feel like the profanity was still a bit too much, but I understand where the frustration is coming from now
Look man, a skilled new reporter like Flux should be able to recognise a clear joke like this one, tho. This shit is embarassing. I have nothing but respect for the guy for creating and keeing up this website, but I think he's 100% in the wrong on this one.
You gotta stop using the term "misinformation". It's clearly a joke, it wasn't meant to misinform anyone, and I don't understand how anyone could be mislead by the tweet.
I have to say I am deeply annoyed they decided to include Alterac Valley in this rotation.
It's not a bad expansion for Arena (honorable kill is an excellent mechanic), but those carss dominated the meta for the past half a year and I was looking forward to some change, finally.
Stormwind rotated when Alterac came out, why can't Alterac rotate now?
That might have been important in like 2018 HS, but I can't see this mattering at all on turn 7.
Yeah, if there's some ways to cheat out mech minions for Paladin then it's a great card, but as it is? It won't do much.
I know they promised us a more board centric gameplay for the next year, but I can't see it. This dies to a single boardwipe spell, and all that it did for an impact is draw you one card. (and removed maybe two minions, if your opponent even had minions)
This is so hilarious, how did they not see Friend of a Friend behind beyond broken? I don't even think you have to playtest in order to recognise it's absolutely broken.
The Voraxx was the card that came to my mind as well, but this is two mana cheaper and has a better base statline which is a big difference. So no, this is not a worse Voraxx.
Yes, Kotori is 2 mana cheaper, but it requires you to have an additional minion on the board AND only Holy Spells work with it. Voraxx would create the minion for you for free and it works with every spell.
One thing I didn't consider is that Voraxx would put the spell on a sleeping minion, while Kotori can put it on an active minion instead, meaning for 2 more Mana you can double your Holy Spell. But once again, that's only a strong combo if they print a good holy spell to use with it. Because so far there's only Blessing of Kings in standard (and they might remove it from Core set, and even if, 6 mana give minions 8/8 is not a very good deal these days)
Great article! I am kinda sad they buffed Tamsin, because I love playing the underdog heroes, the worst heroes. And Tamsin was hands down the worst hero before this new patch. My favorite playstyle was to buff minions to be atleast 30/30 and those would be my "lowest health" minions, so that my whole board got a massive +30/+30 stat buff and Teracgosa would even keep that as a permanent buff. Sometimes my late game boards were only 3 or 4 minions wide, to have my "lowest health minion" have as much stats as possible
The goofy and detailed stories of Hearthstone is why I love this game. It breathes so much life into the Warcraft universe.
My favorite would probably be Mean Streets. It had probably the most backstory outside of cards. We got all the newspapper stuff and a whole facebook messenger game. And it took the most liberties with WoW story.
Rise of Evil is also very good. The idea of all the Hearthstone unique characters banding together and the way Dalaran, a very popular WoW destination was portraited in this goofy way. This is the peak of what's HS bending of the Warcraft story is all about. (too bad the rest of the year was so meh)
The same reason why I also love Scholomance, just the way this magic school has been portrayed as this goofy college movie.
Ashes of Outland had a very cool looking theme aswell, the new spin of the whole Mecha-Jaraxus making an army of scrap metal and demons from the survivors of Outlands was such an unique take on future of Burning Crusade. Not to mention that it also tied in with the Boomsday Project, storywise.
Also like to mention Kobolds and Catacombs, because that one is thematically and art-wise, my most favority expansion. Every card and every Dungeon Run boss just feels so natural in the Hearthstone catalogue.
Why not? It fits thematically, and yeah there isn't too much mechs in the rotation, but it's a cool little flavor arena card. Too bad they banned it in arena, tho

They could leak a tweet saying they'll give out every Mercenary card for free and I still couldn't care less, tbh

the art clearly depicts a Naga Lord, a type of unique naga model introduced in the second wow expansion.
It's most likely intended to be a naga
Slimescale Diver (and the other two also) will absolutely dominate Arena

Whoa this is a bad card.
7 mana deal 8 dmg and draw a card. (thrn it's gonna die because low stats)
haha what? why? late comers to the nft party?
why not just sell the physical cards smh

This is just worse Voraxx, right? And Voraxx saw zero playin a meta where Buff Paladin was pushed as an archetype
so unless there's some bonkers holy spell in the set, it's a dead card
I love it when they dress up the characters in WoW Tier gear! The Brann portrait is absolutely amazing
Hellor Voraxx, long time no see!
Great article!

This expansion is very 'meta' when it comes to naming cards, really love the flavor.
Just what I was thinking!
but if the deck is any good, it will get nerfed to the ground, because people hate losing to random generated bullshit.
Arena cards.
but hey, I love arena.
