No problem :) I look forward to seeing it. You did good in wanting to carefully consider the theme before getting started. Much like how  a house needs a strong foundation, and a movie needs to start with a good script, a Hearthstone card set-- whether official or fan-made-- needs to start with a solid theme to be successful overall, at least in my opinion. There's a good amount of pandaria fan art on the web, so hopefully you shouldn't have any trouble finding good visual card materials.

If you haven't already, check out the latest entry in the Archivist's Lore about the Outland Prime Legendary cards

Hi everyone! Fear not, your Lor-yer is here, lol. I'm happy to help out. Of the ideas listed so far, I really like the the Cloud Serpent race concept and agree that it might be a good idea to stay away from the Darkmoon Fair for the simple reason that an actual card set looks likely to be released this year, if the predictions are true. I know of a few other possibilities that you may want to consider as well if your looking for a different flavor.

The first idea is one already mentioned by RavenSunHS known as the Mirage Raceway. This was a contest between goblins and gnomes to test their engineering, and would fit as a race theme, but could likely come too close to overlapping with the actual Goblins vs  Gnomes card set already in the game. https://wow.gamepedia.com/Mirage_Raceway

Another possible idea could be the Norwington Estate  located in Kul Tiras, which hosts a festival centered around hunting and horsemenship, which might give you something to work with if you wanted to focus on horses for racing. https://wow.gamepedia.com/Norwington_Estate

A third idea I have is the Running of the Gnomes, which began as a community event supporting the fight against Breast Cancer, but is now an official part of the lore where gnomes, and other races as well sometimes, run a marathon from Dun Morogh to Booty Bay to remind themselves of the great things they can accomplish in spite of their size.

I'm honestly surprised, looking through the lore, to find that there aren't many races to choose from. Personally, I still like the cloud serpent idea, since it's the most unique and has more room for variety without stepping on the toes of existing sets, but I hope this can give you some idea. Let me know if you need other fuel and I'll see what I can dig up as material you could at least loosely tie into a race theme.

New Lore guide is out now on the lost city of Ahn'Qiraj, just in time for the event in WoW Classic. That opens up a new spot for a lore project, so if anyone has specific requests, this is a great time to make your voice heard while I'm deciding on a new topic.

Also, let me know if you want a Traversing Azeroth guide (Larger lore stories involving multiple cards) or an Archivist's Lore guide (several smaller stories focusing on individual cards and how they match up with the card design.)

Look forwards to hearing from you all :)

Greetings! This is Goliath the Dwarf, official story-archivist and lorekeeper for Out of Cards, asking you what lore topics you would like to see me write guides and articles about. Do you have a favorite card that you would like to know the backstory of? How about a theme or expansion that needs some clarification for you? Are you a Warcraft lore junkie who wants to see your favorite character card focused on? Perhaps someone new to the lore who needs some fundamentals explained. Whatever the case, feel free to post topic ideas in this thread so that I can reference it in the future whenever it's time to write a new lore guide for OOC.
