It's pretty interesting that every finalist is 4 mana. I guess that's the sweet spot for over-statted cards. I wonder why...

Good luck to all the finalists!

    Feedback time:

@linkblade91: Both are good, although I like Sinestra better since the downside can be an advantage if you play around it correctly.

    @Demonxz95: No.

    @TheHoax91: It's a great idea for a Paladin downside. I like it.

@shaveyou: I like the Cobalt Sky-Serpent better for the same reason as linkblade's: a downside on the surface but an advantage with the right deck. Twisted Ancient is fine but not that interesting.

@MenacingBagel: This needs a lot of work. There's an idea here but unless you can play it on curve it'll become more and more useless. Also aesthetically the wording is way off.

@Xarkkal: Very strong for aggro decks, which could make it polarizing But I think it's a good design.

@Conduit: Not sure about this one. I would say to either lower the stats or remove the deathrattle, but then the card wouldn't really have a hook to it.

@KANSAS: I think Illidan or Short-Tempered Brute are the best of the two. Crystal Imp is fine but nothing all that interesting, and Reno and Shadow Imp don't really fit the theme (conditions aren't downsides). If you go with Illidan though, you'd probably want to pick a different character.

@thepowrofcheese: I like this one. Good effect that could be recruited/drawn out with effects or wait as a last-ditch push if you fatigue.

    Anyway, here's my pitch.

My idea was for a kaiju-type card, and you can't have a giant monster without another giant monster to battle. You'd have to plan ahead to take care of your opponent's Insectoid, but if you do you could make a major swing.

This'll need to get updated with a link to the basics guide for Demon Hunters.

@linkblade91: I'm not sure about it being a Battlecry. It seems like just having "Enemies are 'judged' and take double damage" would flow better and wouldn't have to deal with Brewmasters or silences making the effect permanent.

@Demonxz95: Looks like a good card to me, although it's not very "Demon-y" if that makes sense.

Anyway, two ideas I came up with. Both are meant to fit their respective class while having more destructive abilities.

I wonder if the new constructed game mode is going to be some kind of permanent Brawl Block.

But as they say, the customer is always right. If people think I should change the theme because the flavor is off then I will.

When it comes to the flavor I think it's fine as-is for the most part (although you are tripping on Fan of Knives's toes a bit). My one concern is how strong the card is. I'm not saying it's too good, but this could stand-in for Inner Demon, or go further and become a Pyroblast. That just seems too...I don't know, reliable for a 1-mana Rare? Too versatile? Maybe it should be an Epic.

*shrugs* I'm having a hard time conveying what it is that bugs me so. Can't find the right word.

It might make more sense to raise it to 2 mana and 2 attack, that way it'd still have the desired effect but less flexible than it is as a 1 mana spell. Also all of the Echo cards in Witchwood are either 2 or 3 mana, so it'd be more consistent with the actual game.

    Pirates! A Custom Battlegrounds Update

    (Last updated 3/26/20)

Pirates have arrived to plunder the Battlegrounds! This is a custom Battlegrounds expansion I've been working on. I'm hoping to add a couple more minions (and if there are any balance issues let me know), but here's what I have so far.

    Band of Misfits!

Pirates have to stick together to survive. A good crew can work together to empower their own on the path to victory! Many Pirate minions have abilities that give buffs to their fellow Pirates. Keep a steady hand on the wheel and the board and it's smooth sailing to victory!

    Weapons!

Pirates (and a few stowaways) have brought weapons for their hero to give them an extra advantage in the fight! Weapons give additional attack to the hero after a successful combat, but they also lose durability each time. Keep your tools in good shape, because some Pirates can use your weapon to their (and your) advantage!

    Heroes!

Pirates aren't just on the board, but have brought a few Heroes along with them to turn the tide and bring victory to the Battlegrounds! Use their hero powers to your advantage and conquer!

    The Cards!

    Show Spoiler

    Tier 1!

    Tier 2!

    Tier 3!

    Tier 4!

    Tier 5!

    Tier 6!

    Tokens!

    Heroes!

    Credits!

    All cards made with Hearthcards

Artwork credits can be found in my Imgur gallery for the set here.

Thank you for reading, let me know what you think and what I can improve!

Just found this guy in Bob's Tavern after the update. I don't think it was revealed before now so I thought I'd share.

    A couple of my favorites:

Skeletal Dragon - I wish to complain about this dragon what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.

Rustsworn Cultist- "Rust -  I love it. It's all coarse, and rough, and irritating. And it gets everywhere."

Deep Freeze - "Dancing with the Satyrs' on Ice!"

Torrent - Weeks of underwater cross-training have really built up her fourarms.

Scrap Golem - Abuse, reuse, recycle.

Feedback under the spoilers since there's quite a lot.

    Show Spoiler

@linkblade91: All three are cool, but I think Twilight Reaver is the best of the bunch.

@Dermostatic: I would bump the revised version up to 8 or 9 mana, but I like this version a lot more.

@shaveyou: The revised version is pretty good, but I would give it Rush and maybe bump it to 6 mana.

@Wailor: I actually think Spirit of the Snake is the best of the three, simple but very useful. I also like Whisperer, it's similar to linkblade's card but each has its own utility.

@Xarkkal: A little wordy, but I like it.

@Nirast: Great card, the Inspire effect is simply inspired! (badum-pssh)

    @meisterz39: It's basically a playable Kalaidosaur. I like it.

@h0lysatan: like shaveyou said, this could easily work as a Witchwood card without any major changes.

@dembro: This card needs some work. It doesn't seem like a major enough card to warrant being a Legendary. I would recommend either buffing Nethrandamus or coming up with a weirder effect for it. Also some aesthetic advice: 1) this would fit better in GvG or TGT, Boomsday had a much more specific theme and this doesn't fit it; 2) The Minion label on Altruis is only for tribes, so leave that blank; 3) Nethrandamus should be a basic minion, but with the same watermark as Altruis. The mana cost is fine for its stats.

@Economicaooc: This hero power is going to be a lot harder to trigger once you lose your basic hero power. I think the DH is too focused on their hero power to change it that radically.

@Almaniarra: I think this is a really fun idea, but it's not going to work for this competition since entries are restricted to one token per card. You'll either have to limit it to one Destiny spell or go back to the drawing board.

Anyway, I really like this theme and came up with a couple different cards. I'm leaning toward Orsis Guardian, but let me know what you think.

But it got wordier for some reason and had to specify "Add a 'Libram of Wisdom' spell" instead of just saying "Add a Libram of Wisdom". Weird.

A really strong group of finalists this week. If I had to pick a favorite it'd probably be either Darktide Conjurer or Primalfin Elder, but they're all really close. Good luck and may the best card win!
