Absolutely man! I’m in the exact same boat. However, we’re pretty safe to craft strongcards from the newer sets that we know will remain in Standard. Most recent was another “Experimental Frenzy”, since for sure there will an updated mono-red aggro that will use it!

I will want to craft the Izzet Phoenix Drake deck. But i am still going to wait and grind with mono red.

Mono red aggro may have some problems in standard...

a tech against Red Deck Wins, however its not as strong against other decks. They are loosing Lyra in the rotation so that hurts white for sure.  We will see.

I have the standard Mono-Red deck. I was just playing around with other cards I have. Currently I have just bought 90 packs of War of Sparks and intro bundle. I am waiting to craft cards till the release of Core Set 20. Still trying to understand what is going to happen on the rotation. Seems like they will introduce a "wild" game mode and keep "standard" with the rotation.

I am also not sure what to craft I am sitting between Nico Bolas deck and Izzet Drakes. (I honestly just dont want to craft anything that will rotate in september.)

So model after the shell of mono red with some more late game.

Most people think i am playing aggro mono red and over commit resources. Kind of a fun deck.

I might get this set unsure atm. I know for sure its kind of worth it for the price, in the sense of wild card progression. HS is not getting anymore money from me! Team 5 just cant help themselves with the run away decks. (Playing Pogo Rogue atm and its just silly.) Well Magic also has its own run away crazy decks, however I feel that you have far more control over your interactions.

So I have changed my mind about aggro game play. I have been playing mono-red in arena and its giving me a different perspective from aggro in hearthstone. The reason I am playing aggro is because it was a very easy deck to craft with out too many resources and it performs really well. I have to say that the interactions are not too complicated but do you have to be careful with what you play and when. Mono-Red is not just Smorc.

In hearthstone I am always annoyed by aggro game play, however I have a lot of resources so I don't have to resort to it. When new players its a great choice to play cheap aggro decks.  With that in mind I think having cheap aggro decks its actually healthy for the game. To allow new players to come and experience with out too much commitment.

The block system in arena is very interesting and interactive. Would be great to be able to force some minions to block (not just taunt.) like spells or abilities that enable taunt like effect on certain minions.

Did you use the free pack codes? I grind for two weeks and I was able to craft mono-red aggro. Now grinding to get Esper Control (which might take a month or so.) I have a some what ramp/heal/control deck but highly inconsistent.

Hey thanks for the advice. For sure a little more inconsistent than i would like. Dropped a few cards and added more card draw (I was running out of steam quickly.) a little better now. 5-3 atm.

So far 2-0 with it in casual play.

So much fun actually making a deck and then playing it. The idea is to ramp as much as possible and then play your big minions. When your graveyard has a few dead key minions you can play:

1 Bond of Revival (WAR) 80

1 Muldrotha, the Gravetide (DAR) 199

We will see how it goes. Unsure if I can keep up against aggro but its still fun even if I loose.

I started playing MTG 2 weeks ago. The new player progression is great honestly. Feels a lot better than the hearthstone experience for sure. I am not F2P in Hearthstone ( I was for 1 year and it was extremely limiting.) In MTG I just got the $5 bundle and finished the progression. So far I have played around 50 hours of MTG for $5 and had a lot of fun. I made a few decks with the cards provided and used the lists provided. I only played unranked and the planeswalker event which was super confusing until I played about 6 rounds.

I love hearthstone but at the moment I do enjoy playing it, even with a full collection. (i am more than likely just burned from it.)

Current goals in MTG is to craft Mono-Red-Aggro and learn to play it. By the time i am done with that deck I should have farmed enough gold/gems to craft esper control.

Magic is great. I have played HS since beta and looking to move over to MTG Arena now. I have been only playing for a week and I have a lot more fun. The difficulty level is much higher and diverse. HS right now has Mech Hunter, Shaman Murlock, Secret Hunter and Token druid as T1 decks ( All this decks besides secret hunter are aggro token decks.) The decks can refill the board with sticky minions consistently based on (luck of the draw) The only deck that really puts them in check is control warrior which is 12k+ dust.  So decks that cost 1200 - 2500 dust to be countered by a 12k dust deck.

Nothing you listed is tier 1 and I believe your hearthstone experience is limited. There isn't any tier 1 aggro decks. In higher ranks you are much more likely to find a warlock than a druid, shaman, or even mech hunter. Currently mid range hunter, bomb warrior, rogue, and mage are the top meta decks. None of which are aggro. If you complain hearthstone is expensive get ready to bust your wallet even more with Magic.

They are the top decks played on HSreplay.

True that at higher legend ranks its a different sample of decks. However ranks 5-Legend you see them the most. I have a full collection so its not an issue of cost, however its an issue of interactions. If you could have a few budget control decks the game would be a little bit more diverse to new players. Yes magic is far more costly than hearthstone. However in magic to loose based on your choices of cards and plays more often than not. In hearthstone you can loose to a huge swing turn from Zuljin (example) Which is one card that swings the game. I can understand the swing from a multi-card combo, but from one card its feels awful. Omega Devastor feels awful to play against with charge and deal 10 dmg.

I made it to legend with Control warrior, Control Warlock when guldan was a thing and aids secret paladin with dr.6. So maybe i am just a little bored and burned out from HS.
