The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, which was announced at Gamescom, launches today, and it's also coming to the Battle.Net launcher.
In honor of the launch, CD Projekt Red shared a little bit of background regarding the development of the remaster, in that while they were developing the new "Songs of the Past" DLC, they found that through the technical upgrading that had to be done, the idea of simply remastering the whole game seemed to grow on them more and more. And just like that, we have this remastered experience now.

Remastered grew from our idea to release a brand-new expansion for The Witcher 3, as during the development process of Songs of the Past — which launches in 2027 — we found the need to upgrade some elements of the base The Witcher 3 experience. But as we tweaked this, and added that, we got more and more intrigued by the idea of releasing a full upgrade to the game.
And thus, Remastered was born. Free for existing owners, it modernizes our open-world role-playing game with a slew of upgrades and enhancements to visuals, performance, gameplay, and more. Check out some of those changes in the before-and-after screenshots below.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
