- 0 wins: Epic Capsule. Epic Capsules contain an Epic, 2x Rares and 2x Commons, all with a random chance to upgrade (including the capsule itself).
- 1 win: Epic Capsule, 100 Shards
- 2 wins: Epic Capsule, 200 Shards
- 3 wins: Epic Capsule, 200 Shards, Common Wildcard
- 4 wins: Epic Capsule, 300 Shards, 2x Common Wildcards
- 5 wins: Epic Capsule, 500 Shards, Rare wildcard, Common Wildcard
- 6 wins: Epic Capsule, 1000 Shards, Rare Wildcard, Common Wildcard
- 7 wins: Epic Capsule, 2000 Shards, 2x Rare Wildcards
If you are curious how these rewards stack up in terms of value, here's a quick snapshot:
If value random cards at full Shard value (ie Epics = 1200 Shards etc) then with a 50% Win Rate this loot table is worth 3736 Shards on average.
If you value random cards a bit less, say at 50% of "face value", then the loot table is worth 2350 Shards on average.
Making sure the rewards felt good even without a Champion every Expedition was a big goal; hopefully this information helps!

Calculation: an epic costs 1,200 shards so you need to get at least 800 shards for it to be worth, I am not sure how many shards are there in a capsule but assuming 2 duplicate commons and 2 duplicate rares it's 12180 shards (As long as you don't have all epics) worth.
But I think there is some shard range from epic capsules and I am not sure assuming it's 600 shards you need 3-4 wins to break even with the cost of the expedition..
The other aspect of it is the exp with taking the exp into consideration it's much more worth..
it seems like the mode is less worthwhile to play but you can play it more often which means that if you like the mode you are able to play more.. and I think they will lift the 3 max per week so.. all in all it's bad for the player economy but good for the game mode.. as a game mode.
You're also assuming a going 0-2 twice, which is extremely pessimistic--the median result is probably 4-5 wins.
But overall I really like this. Expeditions were starting to feel like a chore to me--I felt like I needed to convert my free token into a random champion ASAP every week, but at the same time I didn't want to blow it so I'd end up procrastinating until the weekend. This way, you get epics, which are still pretty good but not "I need to redeem this ASAP to see if it helps me build a new deck" good.
I was looking at the base reward, since the rest of the rewards are easier to calculate they are straight shard rewards.
You need 2000 shards to break even on the reward and for that you need quite a bit here compared to the previous reward being always at least neutral.. TBH it's better that way.. you get exp and you get a game mode.. so be it..
Yeah felt the same didn't really enjoy expeditions cause I wanted to know which champion I would get.. guess now I could enjoy them more without wanting to quit them just for the reward.
