We've got the scoop on the latest patch coming to Legends of Runeterra this week!
We're in for a treat with a new lab, updates to turn timers, all-new player profiles that showcase your progression, and plenty of more! One of our favourite additions to the game is a few new snow-themed cosmetics that are arriving just in time for the holiday season to begin. More on those, in a moment - let's jump right into the full patch notes.
Legends of Runeterra 1.15 Patch Notes
Quote From Riot Patch 1.15 introduces a new Champion-centric Lab, an update to round timers, and the debut of Player Profiles to help track your collection! A brand new icy Board and Guardian are also making their arrival, which make the perfect complement to any Frostbite deck.
Looking forward to Patch 1.16, we're also making some improvements to our patching systems to reduce the amount of time you spend checking for updates. Patch 1.16 will have an additional one-time 200mb download, but after that, patches should complete significantly more quickly than before.
As you probably noticed, these notes are arriving a day earlier than usual, and the patch itself will as well. Patch 1.15 will be playable at ~11 AM PT, 11/24.
New Lab: Recursive Heroes 101
Last patch, Heimer taught you a thing or two about brewing the perfect deck. His next lesson is all about making your favourite champion the star of the show, with a singleton deck full of cards to support them… and a few special rules, of course!
Either use one of Heimer's premade decks with Jinx, Shyvana, Gangplank, or Trundle… or build your own singleton deck with only one champion of your choice!
⦁ Your champion always starts in your hand.
⦁ When your champion is killed, it becomes imprisoned in a Landmark that spawns in its place!
⦁ A Jailer will spawn on your opponent's side of the board as your champion is imprisoned… Kill your opponent's Jailer to revive your champ next round!Round Timer Update
With the release of Patch 1.15, we’re rolling out an update to Round Timers to help smooth out the pace of each game. Here’s a look at the new UI, as well as a quick breakdown of how the system works:
Banked Time
You’re on borrowed time. Act quickly to bank extra time for later rounds where it may be more useful.
⦁ Time Banking: Ending your turn earlier will bank extra time. Once you’ve stored up some time, you can spend it on more complex turns that require a little extra thought.
⦁ Time Falloff: Taking identical actions (i.e. Vault Breaker) within a round gives less additional time each time that action is taken (no more infinite rounds!). It’s not super aggressive right now, but we’ll be keeping an eye on the system’s effectiveness and player feedback for fine-tuning in future patches.
Player Profiles
Patch 1.15 also introduces Player Profiles! Accessed by clicking / tapping on your Player Icon, Player Profiles are a great way to track your journey through Runeterra, providing an overview of your collection’s completion rate, Region Road progress, and more!
Seasonal Tournaments
Seasonal Tournaments are on the way; continue ranking up and collecting Prime Glories to earn your spot in the inaugural tournament! Check out the new Tournament tab in-game to check your current Rank, Prime Glories, and get ready to face off against the best of the best in the coming weeks.
In addition to the cash prizes for the top 32 competitors, all Seasonal Tournament participants will receive a Tournament Competitor Icon. Securing at least 3 wins in the tournament will get you the Tournament Competitor Card Back:

⦁ Removed: Herald of Spring, Nopeify!, Startled Stomper, Swole SquirrelDragon’s Descent
⦁ Added: Radiant Strike, Sunblessed Vigor, Wish
⦁ Removed: Guiding Touch, Hush (listed in the 1.14 notes but was inadvertently left out), Laurent Duelist, SunburstMending Touch
⦁ Star Spring will now always appear in Mending Touch packs seen during the initial Champion Picks of a draft (listed in the 1.14 notes but was inadvertently left out)
Spell Slingers
⦁ Added: Steel Tempest
⦁ Removed: Horns of the Dragon, Rivershaper, Twin DisciplinesLanguage Support: Vietnamese
We’ve added additional language support to LoR - new players should be correctly auto-detected, while existing players can swap languages in their login screen settings.
⦁ Vietnamese now supported.
Miscellaneous
⦁ The ‘Disable Motion’ option now also disables certain board features that may negatively affect photosensitive players.
Bugfixes
⦁ Fixed an issue where Jinx could create multiple copies of Super Mega Death Rocket! in one round (already hotfixed in Patch 1.14).
⦁ Fixed an issue where Emotes could get stuck on the loadout panel.

Very nice features.
Love the profile idea. Nice.
And the turn timer update looks good!
Riot's killing it as usual. (And just as I'm beginning to feel bummed about Hearthstone's new quest system...)
Wow great patch!
That player profile was unexpected but it was something I really wanted to be added in the future. I hope it will be expanded and improved.
It’s interesting that they’re not doing balance changes, I guess they finally caught up with their changes and are going back to monthly updates. It’s kind of sad not have to changes to look forward two every other Wednesday, but the small patches have contained so few changes that I’d actually prefer bigger but more impactful balance updates. Labs also adds something new every two weeks.
On another note, why does Gauntlets get so few changes? There are so many different possibilities (max 2 copies, unlimited champions, 3 Regions, all regions) and all they’ve done is singleton and pick-and-ban.
Expect them to go back to more experimental gauntlets after the Dec 4-6 "Last Chance" gauntlet. Right now, they are using gauntlets and Prime Glories as a means to qualify for the seasonal tournament, so they probably don't want to deviate much from the classic formats while that's going on.
They announced that they won't be doing any balance changes because the seasonal tournament is coming up, and they won't mess with tournament lineups.
Oh that makes sense. From what I heard, they also said that in general they want to go back to monthly patch cycles, and they only did it biweekly for a while because of their process being slow and some changes needing to be delayed (which explains patches like the one in which they only nerfed Lee Sin and Make it Rain).
Damn a lot of awesome features!
LoR can feel really annoying if you are playing against a roper, and it seems that Riot has taken the initial steps on fighting roping! And I love that you an track your collection.
My favourite updates as well. One page to see what I'm missing is amazing and anything that cuts back roping is good. I've been lucky to rarely meet unnecessary roping though, almost only when my opponent disconnects/leaves.
