• If only it had "At the end of your turn" instead of "Battlecry" then it would be a real LEGENDARY (perhaps with less damage)

  • 4 cost control card which is adaptable.. it's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

  • Frost Nova into this = Froststrike

@IksarHS Can you talk a little about the theory behind Freeze Shaman back in the day?

    Quote From IksarHS

We made the call it had fairly negative gameplay too late to redesign the archetype. How weak we ended up making it was overkill but to make it weak at all was intentional.

IMO it was reasonably fun to play (when the cards were pushed in power level) but could feel pretty miserable to be on the opposite end.

Soooooo.... here are some more freeze effects for y'all to enjoy!

  • lol.

      lol.

Why are you booing him he's right

      • People on this site just downvote me just because it's me. No matter what i say lmao.

  • I like it, now Flurry (Rank 1) is way better.

  • This should be a Shaman card along with the new Flurry spell! Imagine the interactions with Moorabi or with Shudderwock

The Freeze Shaman archetype could be something new for a change.. but NO, they decide to insist with the old and boring Freeze Mage archetype AGAIN... only after removing the basic Frostbolt, Frost Nova and Blizzard

Why are there such inept people developing this game?

  • Should of been if any are frozen destroy them.

They really don't want any classes playing Kazakus...

  • This.. is.. a legendary? LOL

  • All right, we're getting lots of Freeze cards. Stall the game, draw cards etc, the usual Freeze Mage stuff. What is the win condition for Freeze Mage?

Cards like Alexstrasza, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Frostbolt are rotating. Burn OTK is probably not the play. I wonder what the community will come up with.

  • TBH, I kind of feel like they didn't do a good job of communicating the nonbinary aspect of this character, especially when compared to something like The Traveler in LoR. Maybe it's just that elves as a fantasy species are already androgynous, but nothing about this character design makes me think that it's anything other than another generic elf. Although I think it's nice that they're adding a nonbinary character, this seems on the same level as hypothetically declaring Sludge Belcher is gay. I think if they wanted to really get the nonbinary element across, they should have made a nonbinary human character and given them more nonbinary features or outfits. That being said, I think it's fine to have a nonbinary character that passes as cisgender, but for a design that they're declaring "HS's first nonbinary character" it's incredibly boring and they could have done better.

(btw, this isn't meant to be a "cancel HS" post, I'm just explaining why I think their design doesn't communicate what it's intended to).

    • The non-binary aspect is indeed not very clear from the card art, but the article says that Varden Dawngrasp is one of the Mercenaries, so the character might get more fleshed out in future content like Book of Heroes.

    • I assume this is probably because they didn't want to make it the character's only or most outward character trait.

      • Yeah, I considered that too which is why I think it's not an objectively bad design, just kind of disappointing. Hopefully they'll add more nonbinary characters instead of just making this one and calling it a day. Maybe I'm too cynical, but the design seems like all the potential subversiveness has been sanded off to avoid controversy (just like how some old HS art was replaced to make censors happy). Also, "elf in mage robes" has been done so many times that I think they could have used the nonbinary aspect to make it slightly more interesting, without necessarily having it be the main feature.

  • I am going to test out the following freeze package in wild reno control mage:

    Frost Nova

    Blizzard

    Ray of Frost

    Frostbolt

    Glacial Shard

    Glacier Racer

    Depth Charge

    Doomsayer

    Coldwraith

    The new legendary Varden Dawngrasp

Most of these cards are good by themselves, but with combo with freeze spells you can get mass board clears and removal. It might have enough synergy now to be consistently powerful in reno mage.
