Hearthstone's Warcraft Anniversary Event Gives Out Free Cards

Earlier today in the official patch notes for the 15.6 Patch, Hearthstone announced a Warcraft Anniversary celebration event. We've got the details!

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise, players who log into Hearthstone any time between November 13 10:00 AM PT and November 27 10:00 AM PT will receive awesome Warcraft themed rewards. Stay tuned for more details soon!

Login Rewards - Free Cards

Logging in during the anniversary event will reward players with two cards.

New Tavern Brawl Chalkboards

Three new chalkboards were added with the patch, perhaps one of them is a new brawl during the two-week-long "event"?

  • Me and my friends played fireboy and watergirl unblocked on hudgames and then we were no longer friends !!!

  • I mean not a terrible reward. I'll end up dusting them though.

    Would've preferred a hero portrait or a few card packs however.

    • I highly doubt they'd give out a free hero portrait, maybe one for people that have purchased WoW and have been playing for a long time. A couple of cardpacks would also have been nice. 200 dust seems like far too low of a reward to celebrate 25 years. Riot Games gave up to 6 free skins, the option to get any new champion of your choice, a few chests and a few emotes, just for their 10 year anniversary. Blizzard should step up their anniversary game.

      • Agreed. I never can tell what Blizzard will give to commemorate events. You expect it would be something cool and exciting but most times it ends up being slightly underwhelming. They've given out free golden legendaries in the past, then others it's two golden rares. It's just so oddly inconsistent. Card packs seemed in line with what they've done in the past that's what's so surprising.

  • This is free stuff, so I really shouldn't complain, but this is half of what you would get from making rank 5, which plenty of people do every month. This hardly seems like enough to celebrate 25 years.

  • 25 years and they couldn't have paid tribute in a better way? Maybe created 2 new cards that harken back to OG warcraft.. I mean I understand their choice of cards but just seems like a wasted opportunity

  • As I've started to collect the golden Classic cards, these are a nice addition. I also have two golden injured Blademasters now, yay!

      Is it sad that I'll be happy just to get a 2nd Injured Blademaster period?

      I stopped spending gold towards classic packs, so I'm missing a lot of classic cards and blademaster has always been one of those "well, he's nice, but he's not must-have" cards for a while now...

    They totally appear to have lost contact to the fanbase. 

    200 dust are just not appropriate if you are celebrating such an event. 

    Calling this ''awesome'' is utter marketing speech and outright silly if not awkward.

    • The 5 year anniversary of Hearthstone was celebrated with a single tweet. Feel lucky!

  • Two rare goldens is 200 dust at worst. Always nice. But is that enough for what should be a huge celebration event for anything WC-related? I think it isn't.

    They could have waited for the anniversary to release the 1k wins portraits, and would have appeared much more substantial for this Warcraft celebration.

    While doing nothing more than now, actually, just delaying a few weeks.

    I mean, if you are lazy, at least try being lazy with style, without looking cheap...

    • Well they're technically giving us a new mode for the anniversary, as HS Battlegrounds is out for everyone on Nov 12th (so just one day before the anniversary)

      Of course I wouldn't mind additional stuff :)
