The card reveals for "The Darkin Saga: Awakening" expansion continue with two collectible multi-region cards and plenty of equipment tokens.
New Mechanic - Improvise
Riot, did you forget a little something? No definition of Improvise have been shared so far, but we'll update the post once they do. We can be fairly certain that Improvise cards are able to generate the Equipment tokens below but under which condition(s) is uncertain.
Well this one is wordy:
- Choose one from two random options from a depleting pool of Equipment and equip it to this ally. If the ally wasn't played from hand, it equips a random Equipment instead.
Two new Weaponmaster-type cards utilizing this new mechanic were also revealed.
New Equipment Tokens

If improvise means that these units create a random weapon from this set and equip it then these Cards are INSANE for equipment decks.
Equipments in mtg suffer from the fact that they cause you deck to have fewer creatures (unless they are living weapons) that can be controlled out easier with removal than just having more creatures.
Equipments make one's deck less consistant because they are dead cards without units to carry them.
Having a equipment unit hybrid makes equipments A LOT more consistant and equip synergy a lot more viable.
Also it combines sooo well with the new ionian landmark because you still can fetch your equipment of choice while making sure you always have equipment even if you shouldn't draw the landmark
So if it is what I think it is improvise is going to be the key for equipment decks to be viable/strong and I am quite hyped for that.
Obviously Jax's Origins gonna be something like Kayn's Cultists, but did u notice? They're both no-Bandle double region units! Now i want them to update Senna to be Shadow Isles/Demacia, please, i need her with her husband.
By the cards, both r cute, low cost things of a new mechanic, generally being the best in the archetype or the good fodder for the deck, the double-regions are weird but cool, Fireth has sense being epheremal who is a thing in both regions lets say, and the hookmaster is good lore, daughter of a noxian invader and a ionian fisherman? Love that (?
Interesting!
You wanna know why I think Riot didn't reveal the keyword description?
They're improvising.
Glad Riot decided to implement Jax as a bit of a comical character, he works better this way than if they tried to play it straight with him. I expect him to be a menace, whether he fights with a fishing rod, a frying pan or a lamppost.
I dont think that is actually Jax, even tho the looks and the entire mechanic plays off him strongly.
It's kinda hard to imagine it's not Jax. The cards seem to be supporting a Runeterran champion and they referenced him in Fireth's flavor text.
Indeed, the flavor text is basically 100% confirmation.
ah, ok
