We've now been trying out the new Awakening set and its five Champions for half a week, so it's time to take a look at a few decks that have been working well for each Champion so far.
Ornn
Ornn has been spending most of his time in Piltover & Zaun, where he has found a new favorite toy Concurrent Timelines. Trundle has been a rather staple pairing for him so far, while Caitlyn and Vi have been taking turns as a third Champion, occasionally dropping off altogether.
Jax
Did someone mention Concurrent Timelines? Jax has gotten hold of the same device and getting a lot of value out of it due to the understatted Weaponmasters. He has been seen paired together with the same P&Z duo than Ornn or working alone like in the deck below.
Norra
Norra is still looking for the right portal that would take her to the top of the meta, but so far the top two attempts seem to be the Nami pairing below and Viego, whose Encroaching Mists will help powerlevel Norra in no time.
Kayn
Kayn is still waiting for the right combination of cards as well, as the decks including him haven't been enjoying any great successes so far. Pantheon has been offering some of the best support, alongside Akshan/Sivir pairing.
Master Yi
The intricacies of the ancient Wuju technique continue to baffle the playerbase as no consistently working Master Yi decks have been found so far. Teaming up with Zoe has been the best bet to date.

"Kayn is still waiting for the right combination of cards as well, as the decks including him haven't been enjoying any great successes so far"
What? Are you living under a rock? That a deck has good and bad match ups is not even worth to be mentioned but Kayn/Zoe and Kayn/Panth eat Pirates for breakfast. That alone makes this deck a powerfull pick. But just by stats alone: Out of 14 MU in the current meta 9 are in the ~50% and only 4 of all meta decks can claim a +50% WR against pirates as well. DYOR pls. Kayn is a solid pick.
You can't use a single match up to determine a deck strength even if said matchup is against the current best deck on the ladder.
Kayn/Zoe for example has a positive match up into pirates aggro, last time I checked it was 54% winrate which is good but not what I would call "eating it for breakfast" but it also has lots of negative match up into other meta decks 42% into Nasus/Kindred (who is the second most played deck after pirates aggro) 43% into Veigo/Evelynn and mono Kai'Sa as such the deck struggle to even reach 50% winrate. Other Kayn deck aren't doing any better in fact they are doing worse.
So their assessment that Kayn hasn't been enjoying any great success so far is not inaccurate.
QUOTE: "Out of 14 MU in the current meta 9 are in the ~50%"
Thats the current state of the meta and that means that fe Kayn/Zoe can beat +64% of all relevant decks.
Therefore it stands on more than solid ground as a ladder pick.
And "Kayn is still waiting for the right combination of cards as well" cant be true either.
Let's take the top 10 best deck on ladder at the moment :
Miss Fortune/TF - Nasus/Kindred - Katarina/Elise/Gwen - Vi/Jax - Akshan/Kayn - Viego/Elise - Zoe/Elise - Trundle/Ornn - Ezreal/Kennen - Ornn/Jax
Kayn/Zoe has a positive match up into two of these decks ( Miss Fortune/TF and Ornn/Jax) and it has a negative match up into everything else, so color sceptical with the whole "it can beat 64% of relevant decks"
Why not? the expansion hasn't been that out that long deck list are still being refined and something some powerful decks can be discovered late into the expansion cycle like it was the case with Swain/TF ( for those who are wondering during the Rising Tides expansion most player kept pairing Swain with Yasuo due to stunt synergy it's not until later that players figured out that he worked much better with either Ezreal or Twisted Fate. )
