We've got a new featured location in MARVEL SNAP and it's Orchis Forge!
Orchis Forge is a completely new location being added to MARVEL SNAP as part of the March Season: Days of Future Past. After you play a card there, it adds a Sentinel to your hand.
Orchis Forge is great for decks that love getting more cards in hand, with payoffs like Devil Dinosaur or The Collector, and all those extra Sentinels can be great tempo with Quinjet.
However you choose to plan for the featured location, you'd better get used to it; being a featured location means that Orchis Forge will have a 50% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 8 PM PT Tuesday night to 8 PM PT Wednesday night (2 AM UTC Wednesday to 2 AM UTC Thursday).
What Are Featured Locations in MARVEL SNAP?
There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP, both of which have a 50% chance of appearing for the next 24 hours.
- Sunday's Hot Location that always pulls from existing locations.
- Wednesday's Featured Location that usually shows off new locations, but will pull from the pool of existing locations from time to time.
This helps pave way for new deckbuilding strategies as you may want to be playing something else should the bonus better benefit cards you aren't playing with. We've seen this previously with the featured location, Monster Island, whose boosted appearances meant many players ran Shang-Chi to destroy the 9 Power Monster.
Hot Decks for Orchis Forge
If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Featured Location, we've got you covered: with recommended decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.
Series 1 Devil Dino
Devil Dinosaur is having a moment and we're getting him started with this Series 1 deck that uses Sentinel to fill up the hand and ensure a large dinosaur, with the rest of the deck serving to win at the other locations - or you can steal your opponent's Dino with White Queen.
Series 2 Dino Control
In Series 2, we can start building around The Collector in addition to Devil Dinosaur to give us more ways to get a lot of Power to one location. This control deck also runs Shang-Chi as an answer to our opponent's biggest threats.
Series 3 Dino Discard
Have you heard about this card, Devil Dinosaur? This Series 3 deck is built to make the most of a key cog in Dino decks, the 1-Drop Quinjet by adding all sorts of extra cards to hand with Agent Coulson and with a Lady Sif discard of Helicarrier.
Series 3 Sera Control
If you're looking for a deck that (sadly) doesn't feature Devil Dinosaur, try this one that instead builds around another Ongoing 5-Drop, Sera. This control shell will keep the Power of its opponent's Dinos under control with Enchantress and Shang-Chi, and the featured location could be a great time for Maximus to clutter the opposing hand.
Series 3 Dino Ronan
And we're back to Devil Dinosaur! This time he's brought his buddy Ronan the Accuser along to take advantage of the size of the opposing hand; with Mystique added in to make either Ongoing effect do double duty.
