Path of Exile Mobile was showcased at ExileCon 2023 and we finally have a better idea about what we can expect from it, including how PoE currency might be integrated into the mobile experience. Here's what we learned:

  • Different storyline than Path of Exile 2 but the game is based on Path of Exile 2.
  • Mobile's story is a prequel to both main Path of Exile games.
  • There will be challenge leagues like the normal games.
  • The game begins with you in a coliseum, aiming to impress with your skills.
  • Flasks act just like they do in Path of Exile 2.
  • Dodge Rolls in Path of Exile 2 are also in Path of Exile Mobile.
  • They are talking about having templates in skill trees to easily share builds with friends.
  • The skill trees shown during the mobile showcase at ExileCon are not finished.
  • It uses an older appearance of the Atlas of Worlds that many Path of Exile players may be familiar with.
  • Content gradually opens up as to not scare players about how much there is - don't expect to see full talent trees and atlases right away.
  • You can have the map overlay up on your phone, which is something Diablo 4 couldn't accomplish at all.
  • Path of Exile Mobile doesn't currently have a release date, but will be after Path of Exile 2.

The gameplay shown on stage had connectivity issues and looked very laggy. This was apparently an issue with the setup they were using through an iPhone and Apple TV to be able to broadcast the phone.
