Red Dead Redemption Launches on August 17 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch And... That’s About It

Howdy, folks! This here is an article talking about Red Dead Redemption, and how it's coming PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch... 3 years after the PS5 launched. This is a straight-up port of the original game, and includes the Undead Nightmare DLC. No PC version, which is kinda weird.

The game will release digitally on August 17, with a physical release to follow on October 13, both for 50 USD or regional equivalents. The game is already available on previous- and current-gen Xbox systems via backwards compatibility. The PS4 version should work fine on PS5.

Red Dead Redemption is an open world game set in the Wild West in 1911. It follows John Marston on a quest to hunt down his former gang members, lest he loses his family. The game was released in 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the only platforms it was available on until now.

Are you planning on getting Red Dead Redemption? What platform do you plan to play it on? Let us know in the comments below!

  • I can't understand their decision here. But well they must know something we don't...

    • If you're talking about making it a port instead of a remake, it's a relatively cheap endeavor for quite a lot of money.

If you're talking about not putting it on PC, hell if I know.

      • Sorry for not being clear, but yes, unless they plan to launch RDR on gamepass for PC and Xbox, I can't really understand why this two consoles in particular were selected. (I would even understand getting a switch port only even more than this two togheter)

        • The game is available on the X-One and the Series consoles via backwards compatibility. It's even upscaled to 4k. Probably why they're not releasing there. Don't think it's on Gamepass, though.

          • Oh I see. Did not know about that option! Now it makes a little bit more sense!
