After the news a bit over a year ago that Blizzard was suspending their operations in China, NetEase, Blizzard, and Microsoft have announced that a new agreement is in place to bring Blizzard games back to China.
- Games will make a return starting this summer.
- Not all games will return at the same time, it will be "sequentially".
- All games that were a part of the old agreement are in the new one.
This is great news for players in China who have been unable to access Blizzard games for over a year now. It appears that account data will remain in tact, so previous purchases, and more importantly the time spent on one's account, will bring everyone's characters back from the void. The original news was devastating for players who trusted that they would be able to play their characters and accounts for an eternity, so let's see if trust can be rebuilt now that players have had time to move on.
Additionally, Microsoft and NetEase are in agreement to exploring bringing new titles from NetEase to Xbox consoles and other platforms. More details on the new adventures will be announced at a later date. Check out the full press release down below.

I was coming here to make a comment about a solution to bots, but I got beat to the punch. LOL
Well, guess we all know who caused the previous agreements to fall through 😏
While this new agreement benefits players worldwide due to the botting problem, I have a sneaky suspicion that it won't resolve the problem completly. Players will still buy the super arena draft accounts and ladder botting will still be possible. I'm sure it'll still take time for Blizzard to regain trust from the Chinese playerbase but there is hope that being allowed to play HS in China will reduce botting in other regions.
Finally, the bot problem has been addressed properly (until the next agreement suspension) 😋
